I am impressed! After assembly I filled the hopper with Apple pellets placed the dry rubbed piece of pork on the grates, set the digital thermostat and smoked it for eight hour. The result was a juicy piece of tender meat which fell off the bone. The instructions although minimal were good. All the parts were well made with brass inserts in every bolt location. I had it assembled in about an hour.

The Monument Grills Model S1251801M Pellet Grill is an easy to use well built product that produces delicious grilled foods with a smokey flavor. The grill was shipped in a large carton that was adequately cushioned and padded to protect against shipping damage. Mine arrived in perfect condition. Be aware that this carton is large and weighs 117 pounds so a hand truck would be greatly helpful. As I unpacked the various parts and pieces I immediately noticed that this grill had a fair amount of assembly already completed and the parts that needed to be bolted/screwed together had preinstalled nuts swaged into them. This made my work a lot easier not having to try to position both the nuts and bolts while using a screwdriver. Also there were only three sizes of bolts needed for the entire grill and they were kept organized and secure in a blister-pack. To make assembly a lot easier I recommend a power screwdriver or drill/driver with the proper Philips-head bit. It will save time and frustration over a manual screwdriver. No other tools are needed. Read the instructions several times before starting and you will be ahead of the game. Some instruction steps are slightly confusing if you aren't familiar with the final outcome. I found that the instructions are good overall but the illustrations would have been easier to follow if they were larger and separate from the written portions. One person could probably do the assembly alone but I asked my wife to help while installing the grill body onto the frame and then again when attaching the control box/burner unit onto the grill body. Both items are heavy and require precise positioning while setting the bolts. My overall assembly time was about four hours total but that was in 90-98 degree heat here in middle Georgia with old age also a contributing factor. There were no assembly problems. Everything fit together impressively well. You will need to buy some wood pellets before trying to fire-up the grill. I went to my local big-box store and got a 20 pound bag of hickory pellets for less than $10. I have used the grill three times for about six hours total and still have 2/3 of the bag left. The grill is easy to fire-up but the instructions included with the grill don't quite match my experience with it. The instructions say to empty the control box (pellet hopper) and let the remaining fuel burn out while maintaining cooking temperature. That isn't possible because there is no way to drain out the pellets without turning the entire hot grill over. Maybe some other models do have a drain but not this one. I found that simply turning off the grill, but leaving it plugged in allows the fan in the control box to extinguish the flame and cool the fire-box. Once the grill is cool the fan shuts off and the grill can be unplugged from the A/C power supply. A/C power is required for this grill to work. The next deviation with the instructions that I noticed is that the instructions state to use the meat probes to monitor the internal temps and that they should be plugged into the front of the control box. There are no meat probes and there are no receptacles for those on the control panel. The control panel supplied with this model is manual and there is a knob that is turned to select temps from 200 degrees to 475 degrees. There are also Off, Smoke and High settings with no temps explained for them. I also experienced a problem with the grease tray sliding off of its rails when I tipped the grill upward from the front to move the grill. Each time the tray slid out and fell onto the concrete driveway when I moved it. Cooking with this grill was very easy. Once you ignite the grill by plugging it in and turning it to a cooking temp, everything is automatic. The grill maintains the correct cooking temp as long as the grill cover stays closed. Leaving the cover open will cause the thermostat to read improperly. My overall experience with this Monument Grills Pellet Grill was very good and the cooking process and the quality of the food was excellent. I recommend this grill and wish I had gotten one sooner.

I love my new Monument PELLET GRILL IN BLACK WITH MANUAL CONTROL. The company suggest getting two people to assemble it, and that's probably a good idea. I put it together myself in an hour and ten minutes, but I could have used a second pair of hands a couple of times. The directions are very clear, and other than the weight of a couple of the parts, assembly was very easy! One of the stories I've heard about pellet grills is that they sometimes have trouble feeding, but I did not have any issues with this. It fed smoothly, and the temperature was consistent. I can already tell that I'm going to have many fun filled hours with this grill, and I bet you will too! To me, this grill ranks right up there with the top selling brand, only at a far lower price!

The Monument Pellet Grill in Black with Manual Control Model # 89679 is nothing like the traditional Gas grill or the old fashioned charcoal grill. A pellet grill uses all natural food grade wood pellets as fuel. These pellets come in a variety of flavors (Hickory, Maple, and Mesquite) etc. Assembling this grill is relatively easy. Suggest you review the Instructions / Assembly booklet that’s provided and have a helper to assist. Pellet grilling puts out a Smokey flavored aroma with the end result being great tasting steaks, hamburgers etc. Monument supports this grill with a one year warranty.
