They were not for 8 in. pipe and in the...
They were not for 8 in. pipe and in the fine print it states that they are 8 in. across. This is not the common way to express size in piping.

We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is,We appreciate your comment! We carry a wide range of grate sizes, and they are listed by the size of the grate and not the pipe fitting. To be consistent, our square grates are also listed by grate size and not pipe connection. My apologies for the confusion.

Sturdy round drainage grate affordable price
This 8" green round drainage grate was exactly what I was looking for my backyard drain. I like the color as it blends in with the lawn grass. Also it's easy to edge or mow around it. The plastic is weighted enough so it doesn't move around (I placed the grate on top of the old in ground grate cover because the clay round ring that used to protect the grate had broken into pieces.). The grate works!

You are correct, this particular grate is 7-3/4” diameter and is designed to fit 6” Sewer and drain pipe, the name of the product can be misleading because it refers to the diameter of the grate but not the size of pipe it fits. If you need a grate that fits 8” pipe, you can use the NDS #1040.
