This cement block firepit was easy to order on line and was picked up at my local store. The order was ready in 1 week and the Home Depot crew loaded it into my SUV with a forklift. I decided to use mortar to put it together instead of adhesive as shown in the how to video. I used 1 60 lb bag mortar mix. All went together smoothly after carefully laying it out. The blocks were uniform size for easy assembly but different enough for a more natural stone look. It came out great and now to wait for cooler weather so I can use it!

Nice product. Enjoyed many fires so far
Finished product looks great. Very good, value if you catch it on sale. If you're assembling on gravel it takes some work to get a nice level base but after that it's easy. I had it delivered to the store to save shipping and loaded all of the parts into my SUV. Note that the top pieces should be placed directly on top of the top row of bricks, not spaced in between. I noticed many pics on the internet where the top section was installed wrong. Buy at least two tubes of the best concrete glue you can find and don't use it sparingly. The finished product is really solid

Fabulous Addition to Our Backyard Remodel!
After reading the instructions I was very confident ordering the product online. Picked it up along with the paver base and concrete adhesive on a Friday night. Arranged the stones on the garage floor to get the right "fit." Saturday morning we had it installed in about an hour. We've burned several fires in it already and love it!

self assembly of fossill fire pit
relatively straight forward to assemble; some spare blocks provided; but fire ring more oval than round and some blocks do not stack up totally flat/stable -- compensated by cement adhesive; good looking product after finish

Excellent addition to any backyard
This product was easy to install. Just watch the video in the product description detail on Home Depot's site and you'll be all set! My 15 year old son assembled it for us and it has been a great addition out back under the stars! We purchased the 30" model and for this one we used about 5 bags of gravel. We chose the small granite chunks. Also, you might use more gravel to prepare and level if you are placing it on your yard. We placed it on a poured slab area so we did not have to prepare the soil or level it. It only took 2 tubes of high strength construction adhesive to glue the stones into place.

Easy to Install
Just about as easy as everyone says. Prepare the area before your fire pit arrives. If you do that then the installation time will be no big deal. You do need to shuffle the blocks around to get them to fit nicely but once set it's just peel back a block, apply construction adhesive and reset the block. We were burning a fire minutes after setting it up. It's been about a 5 weeks since we set it up and after about 15 fires there are no issues whatsoever.

Great product, great value!
This fire pit is a great value. It looks fantastic, but costs much less than similar, more expensive products. It was easy to install, which can be accomplished by two people in a few hours. We have been enjoying it immensely!

Great product!!
This product worked great for me I have masonry experience so I poured a slab laid firebrick then laid the pit on top. Nice solid pit definitely need to find a permanent location to fully enjoy it. You will need at minimum rocks and something to glue or concrete it together the plus of mortaring it together is no worries on perfectly fitting it together. Just make sure to put a drainage pipe in if mortaring it in solid. Love it got many complements.

Really nice fire pit.
The construction was simple. Need to play with the different blocks to get it just right, but once their in place it looks really nice. Assemble first and then number the blocks on the second layer and pencil their orientation that way when you remove them to lay the adhesive you can place them back just the way you had them. The top comes with an extra cap so don't get confused. Put it away for a possible accident later. Wish the steel ring was a little thicker gauge but other than that we are very happy with the fire pit. Used it the next day after assembly with no issues.

Easy and fun project
I purchased this 30 inch limestone fire pit kit and assembled it in about two hours. It was easy to build needing just 2 tubes of concrete adhesive and four bags of river rock filler around the side of the steel ring to complete it. Everything else comes wrapped on a pallet and Home Depot even loads it with a fork lift into your truck bed for you. I recommend this product for anyone wanting a do-it-yourself fire pit.

Great Product
We love this fire pit. Not difficult to put together. Stones fit together nicely. My husband and grandson had it completed in about an hour. A little difficult to transport from store but all in all it worked out well.

Good little pit
I installed this fire pit for a client, and they loved it. The value is great for the size, and installation is easy provided you have your gravel and caulking cement ready. Only wish they would number or letter the stones to ensure a good tight fit and there would be no guess work.

    Very nice fire pit
It looks very nice and was easy to put together. My only complaint is they should number the bricks so you don't have to spend the time figuring out which block goes where. After much trial and error, we determined there was a top and bottom to each brick....the widest side goes to the bottom. This allows more coverage of the exposed unfinished edges. Likewise some blocks were wider than others so you had to move the blocks around in order to get all the unfinished edges covered as much as possible.

exactly what we were looking for and a great value.
Easy to setup. I added a Natural Gas line, shut-off valve and log lighter to my installation to make starting fires a snap. (that was the hard part, but is optional). Plus I set the bottom layer of bricks in cement to make for a solid foundation. (this is not mentioned in the instructions and is also optional for sure) .The 24" hex-shaped grate sold @ HD (and elsewhere) fits perfectly.

    Love my new fire pit!!
Assembled and put together by a girl!! Husbands back was acting up, so I did it all!!! Had to work at getting the pieces to line up so rough concrete edges were not showing. Top cap is little more narrow than I expected but overall beautiful piece.

    This fire pit looks great!
I would totally recommend this fire pit. It looks great and was very easy to put together. The company sent two extra cap pieces just in case one got broke during shipping.none did. The only minor dislike was the stone block edges were a little rough. But all and all I'm very happy with this product.

    Great looking fire pit!
Looked around quite a while for a nice affordable fire pit and settled on this one because it looked really good for the cost! Shipped quickly and am very pleased with the purchase. Took about 3 hours to build the pad but assembled the fire pit in less than an hour with my wife's help! Used it 5 min later! We love it!

    Great kit, easy to assemble
Another review posted great instructions. This fire pit looks great and should serve us well. Installation took a few hours and the bulk of that time was in grading/leveling the ground. Fire pit was easy to set-up, pretty self explanatory and looks awesome. We are looking forward to smores this fall!

    Very happy with purchase
I am very happy with my purchase. The blocks are obviously concrete and unfinished edges do show. The block and caps do not fit together flush. Those are the only two negative aspects to this purchase for me. The finished product looks rather nice. It was super easy to put together. I used the pea gravel as recommended, but since I built my pit on an existing concrete pad I added sand to the inside of the steel ring. I also used some lava rock around the top of the steel ring for decorative reasons, to cover the exposed inside of the concrete blocks. I burned a fire in the pit the night I built it and it went well. I would buy this pit again. This is way more attractive than the above the ground metal pits. No need to cover it or protect it from weather. Outer surfaces do not get hot to touch.

Loosely packaged on a pallet but nothing broken. Color is not even close to Limestone, mostly grays. Assembled as directed, giving cement 48 hrs to set. On our second 4hr fire I propped a foot on the top cap and the entire top row block released falling outward. Testing the other blocks they too fell off with virtually no effort. I am concerned that the recommended cement softens with heat and becomes unstable. Once cooled I ground off all the cement and reapplied - It has cured for a week now but haven’t tried a fire again.

This fire pit looked great when we first put it together but after two fires in it the stones started to split and break. Now it's falling apart. Not worth the money paid for it.

        Good product!
Pretty straight forward for assembly. Useds pavers to raise it up a bit and level and then used the concrete cement/caulk to affix all pieces. Assembled the 2 main rings and then used a pencil to trace/outline the edges before disassembling. This made it a breeze to re-assemble when using the cement caulk. Regardless of how you shifted around all the pieces they do not line up perfectly edge to edge, but once assembled you wouldn't know anyway. Took about 2 hrs from start to finish. Looks good and works well. Good product, just a little pricey.

        Not impressed
The pit assembles easily. The adhesive does not hold, the sand leaks out the cracks, and the color isn't correct with the picture.
