I did NOT use this product as the manufacturer intended but it met all my expectations. I used it to tint auto body filler to fill holes/knots in a rustic farm table. In the past I have used lamp black which limited my filler to gray or black. Newlook cement colors come in a vast variety of colors and a half pound will last a year's and years. You simply add it to the filler (A part) and mix well. Then throughly mix in the hardNer (B part) and use like a wood filler. The advantage of using body filler is that it has exceptional holding/adhesion properties. After it sets- sand, stain, and/or varnish.

Exactly what I was looking for. Foundation had been patched numerous times, resulting in a variety of grays. Mixing this into the mortar resulted in a consistent color that nicely covered the grays and gave a different look to an old foundation.

Came in non-resealable plastic bag, NOT in jar as shown in the Home Depot webpage picture. So if you only want to use a little and save the rest, you'll have to provide your own jar.

The New Look Dk Brown tint was good but took some experimenting to get it to match my retaining wall. Darker/stronger color than I thought it would be.

The color started out great, but after 2 days, it really faded. Now, it's a light brown color.

contact the company and ask how much to use for your specific project
I only bought the 0.5lb container from Home Depot for my project because their description wrongly states that the 0.5lb container can be used to color a 94lb bag of concrete. It definitely can't. I wish I asked the NewLook company first (they have a FaceBook page). I used the 0.5lb container with a single 80lb bag of Quikrete. It was very easy to simply add this product to the concrete mixing bag (you can buy those at WalMart's website or Amazon) and mix it with the powdered concrete before adding the water. However, the final color of the concrete after it dried was much, much lighter in color than I had been expecting. I would have been satisfied if it was a couple shades lighter but it actually turned out a very pale and milky shade of brown (like chocolate milk). Of course that is not NewLook's fault, so I didn't downgrade the product rating for that. I contacted them before using this again for a different project and they recommended a minimum of 1.5 pounds of this cement color for a 60lb. bag of concrete and cautioned that the concrete mixed with this dye will be much darker in shade than it's final color until the concrete had fully set and dried. I asked and they did confirm that once the concrete is colored with this product, that the color is set and would not wash out of the concrete with rain so you should not have to worry about the colored concrete staining anything.

Did what it is supposed to do
I had to order it online , none of the big box stores carry it. I needed dry to color the mortar I used to fill the voids between my patio stones. I hope it will keep out the ants.

        Only 2/3 full!
I purchased two of the same product(one being a different color.) The other product was entirely full to the top, while this product was only two-thirds full.

Response from THD Customer ServiceOct 24, 2013
Hi Ronny, I apologize for your experience with this product. I did reach out to the MFG for more information on this and below is their response to you. CEMENT COLOR is packaged by weight and each pigment has a unique weight and density. While a half pound of Dark Brown weighs the same as a half pound of Tan, for example, it has a different density. This is why some colors fill the 8 oz container more than others. Hope this helps.
