This is a beautiful, simple, outdoor patio set. The table is very solid and stable. The curved legs give you ample leg space to sit at which works out very nicely.
The chairs are rather wide which makes them feel stable and provides plenty of space for people of all different sizes.
The only complaint I had was about how two particular screws on the seat attached. There is a machine screw that bolts into a collar/nut to secure the seat to the side supports. The problem is that it feels like
it bottoms out inside of the collar before it actually tights onto the wood. I tightened it as hard as I could with an allen wrench on each side, but then the nut would still spin easily when only one allen wrench was used. I would have liked to hear and see it clamp down on the wood a bit further to really tighten up that joint. It was hit or miss on each chair. Some of them would tighten up nicely, while others seemed
to bottom out in the collar. The chairs where I couldn't completely get that screw tight have a slight back-and-forth wobble that I'm afraid will only get worse.
Also, it arrived with a few minor dents and scratches on the chairs. Not large ones, but it's still kind of disappointing.
Lastly, the packaging was done well, but some of the items were so tightly wrapped, it was difficult to cut all of the plastic wrap off without damaging the wood.
Despite some minor packaging and bolt issues, the set is really well constructed and comfortable. I
know we'll get a lot of good use out of it.
The beauty of the set makes me want to review it as a 5 star, but the fact that it came with some defects and the chair screws don't seem to tighten, I'll give it a 3.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Size & Weight, Looks High End
This outdoor dining set is heavy duty, and well built. The pieces are relatively easy to assemble, although they take a decent amount of time - probably 1-2 hours depending on skill level and efficiency - to assemble all 5 pieces. The instructions are thorough, but simple and easy to understand.
The set looks fantastic - the rich color of the wood goes with any decor. The feet of the furniture have plastic pieces on the end to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on the wood itself. The cushions are thicker than I expected and are a nice addition, However, the wood chairs themselves are comfortable without the cushions.
My only complaint is that the chairs are too large to slide under the table when not in use. That means the set takes up more room than I ideally wanted when not in use. Overall - a great outdoor dining set.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy to Assemble, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Looks High End, Sturdy
This Acacia wood outdoor dining set is the perfect addition for my outdoor decor. It was well packaged and assembly was fairly easy. All hardware was included along with the allen wrench needed for assembly, there is even some spare hardware included. The table and chairs feel quite sturdy and the seat cushions add additional comfort to this set. They are a little lighter weight than I hoped but should last for years to come.
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Good Size & Weight, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Sturdy
In most areas, this set is a good selection. However, some elements are not as high a quality as I would like to see at this price point.
One of the best elements is that it's real wood. It's not pressboard or plywood or MDF (medium-density fiberboard) being called "real wood" like other brand tend to do. This is acacia wood, which is a hardwood that is known to be water resistant (although not waterproof).
And, because it resists moisture, it's much less likely to get moldy, take on mildew, or rot prematurely. That's important in humid areas like the South. This particular characteristic means that the wood can last decades if it's taken care of properly.
Interestingly, even though acacia is a hardwood, each piece of furniture in this set is exceptionally light. The chairs are therefore easy to shift around and rearrange depending on how you want to set them up or use them from day to day.
However, the table comes off feeling too light for its function. It also seems much less sturdy than it should be. I'm not sure this table is going to last as long as the chairs. I certainly would not want to overload the table with heavy decorative items like a potted plant. On the other hand, the table is so light it will have to be tied down or put away during the next hurricane season. So, not the best design for the table.
The title the furniture manufacturer is using for this set is also somewhat deceptive. It is called "Teak 5-Piece" etc., but what it really means is that it is a "teak finish." So I don't like that consumers might buy this thinking it's real teak wood.
The cushions are really quite nice. The canvas is soft to the tough, not scratchy or abrasive, and the foam looks thin but is really quite comfortable. The tabs that hold each cushion to its chair are very strong. They will last a while even if you tend to tug at the cushions a lot as you move around while seated (as I do).
The cushion covers can also be removed and dropped into the washing machine. Big bonus for high moisture areas like North Carolina!
Overall, a fairly good set. If you have a coupon or get it on sale, you'll be right where you want to be with paying what this set is worth.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy to Assemble, Good Size & Weight, Looks Great
Cons: table is not sturdy, saying "teak" not "teak finish" is deceptive, priced a bit high
