It was easy to assemble. Wear gloves.Takes a lil muscle in some spots but goes together nicely, with only a screw driver. Rubber mallet is good to have for the corners.
A step ladder, power drill and a level is all you need to install. I bought my own screws.
Once you install the bracket over the door and mount the awning, it stays put. The addition of the arms stabilizes it. Neither of them budged during the last few days of winds over 50 mph here in NY. Up and down movement during strong gusts was not more than 1/4 of an inch. They're strong. That was a great test. I'm confident now they'll last.
And you dont have to rush in the door when its raining. Nice coverage.
