Flimsy. Breaks easily with any side to side movement.

Easy to install , tightens up those loose pipes that were never properly supported.
Or as in my case , the old metal straps that have rusted away in the crawl space since 1920.

Galvanized
Replacing all the galvanized water pipe in the basement with Pex-B used these hangers for all,worked great. I removed all the nails that came with them with screws. These hooks can be fastened from any side, I would recommend these!

I used the Oatey j- hooks to support some of my copper water pipes both 1/2” and 3/4” in my basement. Before installing the pipes would rattle when the water was turned off. After installing these j-hooks the pipes do not rattle. Worked really well.

Didn’t realize this hanger could be used in many ways...
Didn’t realize this hanger could be used in many ways it can be nailed flat to the joist so I support pipes running along the bottom or used to hang pipe between the joist or nailed to bottom to hang pipe below cavity under joist.

A store employee ordered this for me and I did not realize that it was CTS until they arrived. They will not fit 1 inch PVC SCH 40. There is no space in the store for the correct 1 inch J-hook, so I had to cut a foam insulation pipe wrap and use a 1.5 J-hook to secure pipes.

Recommend using screws instead of nails provided. Screws usually better for tight spaces where you cant swing a hammer. And if you have to adjust, there's no pulling those nails out without wrecking bracket.
