It's aluminum. Aluminum is a soft metal, it will rub off onto your hands, clothing, and walls.
I have found this to be the BEST wire for attaching Orchids to cork bark.
With practice, it will serve light duty work, but not hanging a picture- use galvanized steel wire or cable for that task.
Aluminum is softer than copper...
This wire is easy to use for nose guard in face masks. Also used in several crafty projects. The pack allows the wire to be pulled out and cut to the length you need without tangles. I am happy with this item.
Ook advertises this as tie or hang anything. I bought an expensive mirror and hung on this wire. It hung on it for about 2 minutes and then the wire snapped and the mirror fell and broke. I wrote to the company and they told me they forwarded it to their corporate office for review. I attempted to follow up several times and got no response. They obviously do not care about their product. Dont waste your money.
I use this wire to make spiral bindings for calendars and other folios. It is easy to bend into shape around a dowel. I bought some a few years ago, but forgot where I got it. I tried several places, but Home Depot was the only place that carried anything like it.
The product description is right on.
