Worked like a charm! Used it to replace the bottom piece of a skylight. It won't crack if you do this: use something as a straightedge, like a level. Mark your dimensions. Hold the straightedge firmly in place and apply repeated scoring, with a sharp plastic cutter. Keep scoring. Be patient. Don't try to cut through it all at once. You might have to score it 50 times to cut through, but it WILL work, and it won't crack.

Great COVID sneeze guard! Used this to close off a large portion of our payment window at work. Very easy to drill with standard drill bits. Simple to mount and no cracks. Had a few minor scuffs, but not going to complain. I would have usually gone into the store and picked out a perfect one, but used pick-up instead to keep greater social distancing. Big thank you to the entire Home Depot Team (Canton, OH #3810) for always doing a great job. Be safe America! Stay home!

This is probably a great product when used correctly. BUT, if your project requires multiple cuts and drilling holes, as with my application, spend the extra $20 and order the .177thick Polycarbonate sheet that’s also available from HD !!! As many others have stated, brittle and breaks/cracks easily even with every precaution taken. I used this to replace our torn/ripped door screen and install a doggie door instead. Using a “utility style knife” as shown in the video is a joke. I found by trial and error an oscillating tool works the best. This 4x8 sheet was cut down to approximately 36”x60” and then a 10”x 17” opening was cut out. I’m giving it 3 stars, because so far its working great, but the fact that it might crack/shatter from the drilled holes/cut area has me concerned, time will tell ….

        CLEAR AS GLASS
I bought a 48 x 96 sheet to begin enclosing my front porch. Very good results! (See image). This was much better than glass for me. Care is required because it will scratch and crack. I tightened a screw too much attaching to upright and it cracked a bit but still useable. I'll buy more as I go!

When it comes to hobbies this is a good amount of material for the money. However, it does break easily if you're not careful; it needs to be supported well underneath and above when making cuts as well as when breaking (bit-by-bit); do NOT remove the plastic until all your pieces are cut; this keeps it from breaking into little chucks. It's actually quite hard to cut and thought it would be softer, like styrene. It's still fine for bigger pieces though, and a glossy top coat makes for a nice finish to exposed/visible surfaces. You'll need a hardie-board-type knife and will need to score half-way down the thickness before breaking. It's great for appliances, signs, a protective cover to something, etc. I would recommend watching the instructional video before working with this material.

I didn't order this panel with any particular purpose in mind. I'm a tinkerer, I'm always repairing, modifying or building something. I especially like the versatility of the product because with a heat gun and a mold the material can be softened and shaped to my specifications. Also, OPTIX acrylic sheet is between 2-10 times stronger than double strength glass, half the weight of glass, and shatter resistant. It's a perfect material for indoor or outdoor use, it's impervious to the weather. The panel ships with a protective polyethylene film on both sides which all but eliminates the possibility of scratching the surface during the cutting process. I use a variable speed, very fine tooth, circular blade cutter with just enough speed to create a kerf without melting the acrylic. You can also score straight lines with a plastic cutting tool then snap at the score line, like cutting glass. I found no indication of a published manufacturer's warranty but the first panel I received was broken during shipping and Optix quickly replaced it. As with most products Home Depot sells there is a 90 day return policy.

My daughter recently remodeled her bedroom in a teal and white theme and wanted a board for dry erase markers and chalk markers. This white acrylic sheet is a nice color match for her room, and I am hoping that it works well as a 'marker board'. The sheet came with a blue plastic protective film on both sides of the acrylic. The film is easy to peel off, leaving a perfectly smooth glossy bright white acrylic finish. The acrylic sheet is nice and large for this particular use, so I am going to cut this 4' long sheet into a shorter piece to hang on the wall. We tested typical dry erase markers on the acrylic sheet, and they wrote perfectly well on the smooth, glossy surface. And the dry erase marker ink easily wiped off of the sheet using a microfiber rag. We will be buying some chalk markers to test those on the acrylic, but I expect them to work well on the smooth surface. The thickness of this sheet is perfect for my project, since the acrylic isn't too heavy and should hang on the wall nicely. This 0.118 in thick sheet does flex, so if you need something that is rigid and doesn't flex, you'll want to get something thicker.

I consider this a great 'project panel' size. Easy enough to carry, transport, and work with. I would normally go to plywood but needed something that could handle a healthy amount of water contact. I find a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade works pretty well as does a high tooth count blade in a table saw and zero clearance plate (or sled). There is some flex, which for my use was good and found some specialty adhesives that 'weld' things together.

I ordered this acrylic sheet for a very unique reason - I am going to build a small plinko board out of it. I built a test board out of melamine and dowel rods and it worked better than I could have hoped. For the real board I wanted the slickest material possible so the disc really bounces around, and it needed to be white so it didn’t look awful. This opaque white sheet was just the answer! I can’t wait to dive into this project.

This is a nice, smooth, BIG sheet of glossy opaque white plastic. There are myriad uses for material like this. I'm going to do something else with it entirely - guitar pickguards. This big sheet will make lots and lots of them, I won't be needing any white material for a long time. The thickness of just under 1/8" is perfect. Acrylic is harder than most plastics, but with the proper techniques it can be cut and shaped very well.

Standard opaque solid white acrylic sheet with little to no light transparency. High gloss surface, average thickness, film mask. The film mask wants to let go when running through a table saw so care should be taken. A laminate or plastic blade is required for cutting. Lower speed on sander to sand edges smooth or it will melt. Best with a flamed edged. Roughed up one side with 1000 grit sand paper for airbrush paints to adhere to the acrylic. Painted nicely and fit well into the back of a custom ship model display we created.

Having a solid wood pantry cabinet butting up to heavy use cooking stove always bothered me a little. just too much splashing. Falken Design Acrylic has many benefiting characteristics like glossy surface, weather resistance, sturdy, durable, light weight, thermoplastic and innovative. Acrylic is lighter and stronger alternative to glass. It is easier to fabricate than glass. Our cabinet wall is far enough away from the heat and much easier to clean and keep clean. Looks great too! I use a straight edge and razor to make the cut in about five minutes, used construction glue to hang it and done. Nice project and now it's off my to do list.

An excellent product that I've used many times before. It's safe to cut - with the proper tool & is moderately scratch resistant. I used this piece - cut to proper sizes - as shelf liners for a built in china cabinet. Now, glasses, dishes etc don't stick to the shelves & it's nearly invisible.

Hint: If you are cutting this two directions, cut it on the "short" side first, all the way across, and then the long side. Fortunately my cabinet didn't need the entire width of the acrylic, or I'd have had to bought another when it cracked in "not the right place". Oh, and the glass cutter next to it in the aisle? Won't cut this. Use a stronger blade and score it several times. I do love my upcycled gun cabinet, though! I use it to put all the grilling stuff I don't want to have to cart back and forth from inside the house, and I don't have to worry about the glass breaking in a wind storm!

We have wire shelves in our apartment pantry. I bought two of these acrylic sheets, had the salesperson cut them in half. My wife put them on all the wire shelves and they kept the bottles and other containers from falling over because of the gaps in the wire shelves. Excellent product!!!

I used the 36 in. x 48 in. x 0.093 in. Acrylic Sheet to replace one of my garage windows that my son accidentally broke with a hockey ball. Instead of using glass which would have to be cut to size and installed by a contractor (most likely) I decided on using Acrylic. The Acrylic Sheet was easy to cut with a specific Acrylic cutting 'knife' that I had to buy as well (located next to the Acrylic Sheets at the Home Depot). Removing the broken glass and installing the Acrylic Sheet was very easy and once I removed the protective plastic from the Acrylic Sheet you cannot tell that it is not glass. I was a bit concerned about the thickness of this specific size sheet, but once cut to size (40 in. x 13.5 in.) the Acrylic Sheet was not 'floppy' anymore. Doing this with glass would have easily cost me $200 (contractor). Going with the DIY option got me out the door for ~$55 (Acrylic Sheet + 'knife') and provided me with enough left over Acrylic that I can replace another garage window if it would ever happen again. I hope this review will help other parents with active kids. :-)

I bought this to laminate together for router jigs. The first thing was a base plate that attached to my router base and then dropped into the router table I had made. The second is for a jib that the router attaches to and is used to create a larger working surface when cutting mortises, tenons, rabbets, dados, etc. I cut this on my table saw and in order to avoid chipping or cracking the plexigass at the end of the cut you have to cut into one end, flip the piece and make the rest of the cut. This way when the blade is near the end of the cut, the material is already done and cannot crack or break. I laminated these sheets with CA glue and clamped them. I used countersink bits to drill holes through and have the screw heads sit below the surface. For the router table plate, I drilled the center hole and then enlarged it with a jigsaw. For the other plate, I used a 35mm forstner bit I had. The plexiglass held up well even after tons of cutting and drilling. The router table plate works perfectly and holds the router to the table securely even while running large router bits. I like that I can see through and see what is beneath the plate - very hand when cutting mortises
