I also 'believe crafting coffee is a ritual worth savoring and that making things easier doesn't have to mean sacrificing quality'. That being said here's a 'Conical Burr Coffee Grinder, with a simple, intuitive design delivering consistent grinds no matter how you choose to brew'. Where do we start after that ?, The durable, 40 mm conical burrs, Choosing from 43 grind size settings: espresso to French press or cold brew. I could go on, but simply put, if you enjoy coffee as it should be, full of body with all the fragrance and undertones you have to start with fresh ground - ground the right way with a conical burr grinder for consistent grinds.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Good Size & Weight, Good Use of Space, Great Value, High Quality, Large Capacity, Looks Great, Nice Design, Performs Well, Stylish
The OXO conical coffee bean grinder is the best bean grinder I've ever used by far. The OXO grinder isn't wimpy either! At nearly 17 inches in height, the grinder is almost as big as my 12 cup coffee brewer.
I selected the OXO because of it's reputation of quality products and I'm tired of inconsistent grind of blade type grinders.
The bean hopper easily removes so that remaining coffee beans can be poured back into the bag. The hopper holds more than enough beans for 12 cup coffee maker.
Features I like about the OXO:
-sure footed design. The grinder has a well designed based and stays put regardless of the grind setting.
-simple operation. Simply set the grind level, set the time (length run-time of the grinder), push the button and let go. No holding down, no shaking required!
-easy to clean! The hopper separates, the burr grinder separates, the collector separates; all make it extremely easy to clean the grinder.
-quiet, strong motor. Because of the DC motor, the grinder is quieter and stronger. It doesn't bog down at any grind setting.
-consistent grind. From very fine setting to the coarsest setting - the grounds are consistent.
The only cons:
-the collection cup is made of stainless steel which reduces some of the static cling of the grinds. I still had a lot of static but not nearly as much as I had with other grinders. I don't believe there is any way to completely eliminate the static cling of grinds.
-grinds tend to collect in the discharge chute. Once the collector cup is removed grinds still drop from the chute. I found that the finer the grind the more grounds tend to collect. Repetitive tapping of the grinder kept producing coffee bean ground fall-out. Again, this is an inherent issue with coffee grounds and humidity. Even commercial grade drop grinders experience this.
I love freshly ground beans and I love the performance of the OXO grinder. I'm back to buying whole bean roasted coffee thanks to the OXO!!
Pros: High Quality, Lots of Features, Nice Design, Stylish
Wow, this Conical Burr Coffee Grinder by OXO is amazing. It is so much quieter than our last coffee grinder too. It has a sleek design that looks clean and neat enough to be left on the counter. You can find just the right grind easily and really stepped up the coffee here. Easy to operate and clean and the directions are very simple. It has a one touch start too. Very happy with this product
Pros: Fast / Speed, Good Use of Space, Looks Great, Performs Well
Some of my favorite features are the hopper can be easily removed while beans still in it along with the static fighting bin. The Oxo Conical grinder also has 15 grind settings in addition to micro settings to get the exact grind needed. Nice looking design too. For the price point this grinder is an excellent value. I have never had a burr grinder before and it made my morning cup of coffee so much easier to prepare.
There was a little static in the grounds bowl the first time I used it, but it wasn't an issue. After some experiments, I've been putting the paper filter straight into the grounds cup and it works really well - there's less to clean up and I can really smell the freshly ground coffee without the snap-on lid.
I love that I can set the number of minutes and I get the same amount of ground beans each time. It was really nice to have control over the size of the grind. I've ground coffee beans on a few different settings (for espresso, pour-over and French press) and besides a little sediment in the bottom of the last cup in the French press, it's been perfect. I've tried two different types of beans, one more oily, one less so, and I had no problems with either.
The grinder doesn't take up much counter space and needs minimal cleaning. The cord is heavy duty and 40 inches long with a grounded plug.
Overall, a great grinder that looks nice in my new kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This has improved my Wife and I's coffee routine tenfold! We bought one of these for my in-laws and after hearing how much they loved it, and how much better fresh ground coffee tastes, we were super excited to have one for ourselves.
Super easy to setup and use! Adjust the fineness of the grind, put the beans in, set how long you want to grind, and go! Numerous options to get the perfect grind you want, every time. Makes it super easy if you brew your coffee using different methods as well as you can adjust the grind for this as well.
This has been a much needed and much welcomed addition to our kitchen countertop, and is now a morning staple! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Overall, this grinder is great; we love it for getting a consistent ground size and for showcasing on our counter! It's about the same height as our Keurig, and fits under our low cabinets nicely. It also looks fantastic and can stay out on your counter top or coffee bar without it being an eye sore - this is something we really like! It took us some trial and error to figure out what setting we most liked, and how much is ground based on the time - but ended up with what we thought was perfect for our reusable Keurig cup. We always buy whole coffee beans to grind, and this grinder is much nicer looking, more consistent, and easier to use that our old grinder. I would recommend it to anyone who consistently grinds their own beans as it makes the process much easier.
I listed out some of the pros and cons below as well that we have noticed -
-Remembers your setting; once you figure out what works best you can just leave it as that, or remember if you need to go back to it.
-Push the button and let it go. You can walk away and come back to it being done.(But we really enjoy watching it work :) )
-Consistent ground size
-UV Blocking tint on the hopper; we have the separate containers and love them so this was a nice touch and helps keeps the beans a bit fresher.
-Still staticky even though they used stainless steel and say there should be less static. We found it to be messy to use on some occasions and have been trying to figure out how to combat that. But it has been inconsistent.
-It grinds based on time, not amount you need so there is some trial and error in figuring out what the setting will get you. And you may need to run it more than once if you need a lot ground (30 secs. is the highest)
-No cord storage. If we don't leave it plugged in but on the counter, it would be nice to have somewhere to put the cord. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
