I used this product one time so far when I switched my water line shut offs under my sink to stainless steel instead of plastic. I used it about 4 years ago and it is still holding well. I have not had any leaks from the lines. This product is LoVOC. It has an applicator inside attached to the cap to make for quick and easy work. This product did meet my expectations and I do not have anything to dislike about it. Please hit the thumbs up if this was helpful.

The Oatey FlowGuard Gold 8 oz. 1-Step CPVC Cement bonds CPVC pipe and fittings for water distribution applications. The cement fills gaps and softens the surface of PVC pipe to create a strong bond. Because of the viscosity of the product and it's ability to soften the PVC pipe it seems to work even when the connections might possible not fully mate. Primer is not needed with this product. Can be used with copper!
I used it to repair a couple of PVC fittings on my pool pumping system with 1 1/2" and 2" fittings that other, less viscous cements would not have made a proper bond. Also on a copper to PVC bond going into a whole house filter (just hopefully this holds and lasts).
Similar to other PVC cements the can has a dabber in the cap for swabbing on the cement around the male pipe as well as to dab into the female end.

I am very happy with this product. The fact that you don't have to use primer is good and is smart to make sure the pipe is wiped off and clean. I would recommend that on using this product you close the lid every time because it does dry out very quickly and the product will dry up in a can if you do not put your cap back on every time. Therefore you should make sure it's tight at the end of use.

Good stuff... I used it on some CPVC this past weekend and it worked perfectly. It was my first time working with CPVC or CPVC glue and I was impressed with the ease of use and strength of the glue. I tested it on some scrap pieces. Although this says it's a one step cement, I would always recommend using the primer. Also, remember that this is only for CPVC piping with up to 2". Over all, a very good product.

As more people switch to PEX I still find CPVC to have its place in the plumbing world. My house was plumbed with copper originally, but whenever I need to replace a section of it I switch over to CPVC. I like the simplicity of installing it, and that I don’t need any special tools to make joints, or have to use expensive push-fit connectors. There are two types of cement for CPVC that I am aware of-- The orange type and the gold type. I have used both and never had a leak with either. The only difference that I am aware of is that the orange one requires a primer, whereas it is optional with this gold cement. One advantage with the gold, is that it dries to a more subtle color than the orange. Most people wouldn’t notice or care about that as long as the joint works, but I thought I would mention it for those concerned about cosmetics.

The Oatey FlowGuard Gold 8 oz. CPVC 1-Step Cement was shipped in a box with a lot of packing to keep it from being damaged.
This is a great product, I have to use it for custom piping for turtle tanks for rescued pet turtles as some of the set ups for filtration are more complex then others.
The filter systems are low pressure high volume with a 2000 liter per a hour rate.
No air or water leaks after using this product on the piping.
