They look very nice once installed. As with any installation not on a concrete slab, the hardest work is preparing the surface. It's got to be leveled and compacted or the job will deteriorate with the first rain. I leveled the ground roughly and then embedded some 1-1/2 inch pvc pipes about 6 feet apart for the width of the installation. Level the pipes and then tamp them down to get the slope of about 1 inch in 10 feet. Build the levelling sand up, wet it and let it sit. Then strike it with a 2x4 pulled along the pipe. Wet it again and let it settle. Fix any low areas. Then the stones go down. The interlocking pattern is confusing at first but pay attention to where the "arrowhead" is on the stone and where it goes and everything falls into place. It's a repeating pattern but winds up looking random. The beauty of these big stones is that they are spread over a wide area so the edges won't sink like smaller brick pavers. I didn't grout so I have to spray the occasional weed that comes up between stones. But it's a nice looking patio now and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

  • Great product. Only available by full pallet

QUANTITY AND PRICE- don't buy the product assuming you will be able to get pieces to finish the job. There are 90 stones on the pallet. Either scale down your project area or just know you're going to have extras. 90 stones does about 135 sq/ft. If you really don't need that much, pick a stocked item at the store since it will cost considerably less per piece once delivered. At the time I ordered, delivery was $55, and after taxes and such, the total price per price for me was $8.42, so shop around if that's not what you thought you'd spend. INSTALLATION: I had to go to the Oldcastle website to find installation instructions since they were not on Depot's site, but once you figure it out, it is easy to do the layout. Start with three stones, and put each of their smallest ends together like a three leaf clover. The pattern repeats itself with a bunch of clover patterns fitting into one another. PRODUCT: fairly heavy but not as heavy as other products out there, so it is manageable. Beautiful color - this online only item is NOT the darker one in the picture. It is the lighter sandy color. Very easy to cut with the saw. DELIVERY: they literally drop the pallet at the curb. You can try specifically requesting they bring a forklift when they deliver it, but they didn't for me. We had to then unload each pallet and move the stones to the backyard. Make sure you're prepared.

Junk. don't buy these. Too much sand in the mix, they easily crumble, chip, crack, and break.

The pavers look good, however their installation logic still eludes me.
