This is by far one of my best finds for the year. They made building my raised flower bed simple and easy. They allow for versatility and creativity you can lay out your bed and make changes on the fly before committing to the final size. The only tool you really need is a saw to cut the wood to the lengths you want. You can use rebar to fix blocks in play when building your bed directly on the ground. I'm a fan of using pallets to get the beds off the ground and building up from there. If you're interested in starting a garden and using raised beds or have been in gardening and want a simpler process to make flexible raised beds this is for you. full video of using planter wall block. https://youtu.be/nXNoFgw44ak

Perfect for my 6' x 6' keyhole garden. Got 32 of these: 4 blocks stacked on each outside corner and on the corners of the keyhole section. It made for a fun project for the kids over the summer. I showed them my plan, they looked at blocks and the pre-cut wood planks and they put it together themselves like a giant Lego set -- no nails, no hammering, no tools needed.

I am happy to have solved the design problem of finding plant stands for the large patio we have. I started with a few to see how they looked and how they could hold my large plantrts(pots). After the recent earthquake, I was reassured that they could withstand some shakes. I liked the flexibility use of them.

I really like the idea of this product, but it is actually more complicated than it seems. I bought a whole pallet of these along with 24 2"x6"x10' redwood boards (had them cut at Home Depot). Was planning on 18" tall planters. I thought I was set with an easy raised bed solution. Blocks ready and wood cut. The concept that this is easy to build is flawed; there needs to be some re-design to accommodate that goal. One suggestion: It would be nice if the blocks could somehow lock together other than glue (like you could put a pin in after you were done with constructing); if you try to glue in between, then you really have to go through a process of leveling and then taking apart again to glue (and then you might shift the blocks taking boards out that were used to ensure correct block location/placement. The blocks themselves are nicely made and seem durable. I dropped one or two while unloading and they didn't break or chip. It is a well-made and attractive product. Could use some color options. Most of the blocks had a small amount of material in the hole so those had to be knocked (lightly) with a screw-driver or other tool prior to install. Pretty much all redwood boards at Home Depot are warped when you get them so you have to go through the stock pretty carefully to find the best ones (that took a while!!). It still works with warped boards, but you will be able to see the bows because they won't lineup with the board above/below. The issue is with whether your ground is level. You can't just build up a mound of dirt under the blocks to level it. The blocks will eventually slip out of place even with rebar in if the ground moves underneath or next to it. Each corner is a point of failure. The dirt is pushing on the boards and stones and so everything needs to be put together well and the rebar is definitely needed. You really need that ground to be perfect and packed well underneath the raised bed before you start. As much as I tried, the ground under mine wasn't done right ... so at least one corner of each bed is quickly going sideways ... like the Leaning Tower of Pisa :). I will probably have to take all the dirt and plants out and rebuild. Not sure what will happen when it rains. I put a raised bed on the pool deck too. But if your yard concrete is done right, then it won't be level ... there is usually some slant for drainage. So on that one, I had to make one side higher than another to accommodate for the slant. We drilled into the pool deck a small amount so that the rebar would connect the pool deck and block together (otherwise not sure how it would hold together)

      Best Raised Garden Idea Yet
These blocks were SO easy to use to make a raised garden. Putting the 2x6’s down into the notches was so easy ANYONE could manage it. We made a double stacked 4x6 garden and it took 19 bags of soil in case anyone needs a rough idea. We will be adding another section onto it next year since this was so fun to put together and is already a success!

These planter wall blocks have a very pleasing color and make it easy to build attractive raised bed gardens. Home Depot had the treated 2"X 6" lumber and reinforcing bars needed to complete the project. Need to be selective in choosing blocks because some may be nicked and slightly marred. Also, need to pick straight 2 foot long re-bars to hold stacked blocks in place because bent or curved tip bars make it difficult to align blocks properly. A fun project that was quickly built.in one afternoon.

We used these to create two 3' high raised planter beds, each 4' x 8'. They leveled easily and with a rod driven at least a foot into the ground through them, they're VERY stable. An ingenious way to quickly and relatively cheaply create a large planter bed that will last for years and years.

I am so happy I found this product! I have arthritis and have been trying to get a raised garden bed done for over a month, but couldn't get any help. I found this on last week's flyer, immediately purchased 4 and the next day my garden was done! Have gotten so many compliments on it from my neighbors. The hole at the top is the perfect size for a stage of a solar light, so I put one in each corner and then one in the middle on each side, and since it's higher on the ends because of the bricks, it gives it a beautiful effect. The garden is big enough to hold 2 tomato plants, 2 cucumber plants, 2 squash plants and a parsley plant. Also added 6 purple pentas to attract bees to polinate the veggies. Am so happy with the way it turned out, I've orderd another set of 4 to make another raised garden on the side of the house!

This is a great product! I work in spreadsheets all day and I used my limited skills to build a custom-fit, two-step flower box in front of my house as well a a veggie box out back. The key to happiness with this produce is three-fold. One, use 6x6x2 not any other size. Pre-measure and pre-cut wood to create the four-sided shape to aid you in structure. Three, the little things - use a level and yes, use rebar.

It was super easy to create 2 raised beds in an afternoon. I would have liked to have seen the bottom of the block indented So the blocks would stack nicely. Be carefully when driving the rebar into the center hole that you don’t hit the block and break a quadrant off.

Very easy and practical to use. I simply cut the 1"x6" piece of lumber to the desired length I want to use, slide the piece of wood into groves and I have either an instant flower bed, vegetable bed, or in my case, a frame for my lime tree! Of course, for the flower and vegetable bed I stack two more rows of blocks using a wire mesh (to keep gophers out) as my foundation then plastic liner I set my blocks to the desired size then fill with desired amount of soil.

The Oldcastle raised planter blocks are really simple to use. Just lay them out to whatever size you want your raised bed to be. Insert your 2X6 wood boards and all is locked in place. These blocks can be used in a single layer or stacked up to 4 high and maintain stability. They are heavy enough to stay in place but, if you want to make sure they don’t move, drive a piece of rebar through them into the ground using the provided hole in the center of each block. If you use standard length lumber you won’t even have to cut any boards. Without the need for fasteners and no trimming or cutting of boards required it doesn’t get any simpler. On top of that it will be a lot less expensive than buying a prefab raised garden bed kit. These blocks are great!

Extremely easy to use. Simply cut your 2 x 8 in two equal pieces ( 2 @ 6 ft and 2 @ 3 ft for example). Set the blocks where you want, slide the 2 x 8 into the wall block groove, kick a little to make it tight then drive a piece of rebar or a 10 inch spike nail in the middle block hole.

                Great blocks
Built a raised planter bed with these and I love it. It makes the job faster and easier, I had previously built 3 raised bed planters using all block. For my planter bed I used treated 2 x 6 wood and went 2 high and it worked out perfect, I also used the rebar mentioned in the video to help keep the blocks in place. I recently used these blocks to build a border around our mango tree to add more dirt and retain the water and I'll be building another raised planter bed for plants in our backyard. Attached is a photo of the planter bed.
