Seal went on well did two coats on the floor and ramp

Unless you want your wood product to look like a clown color of bright orange I would look elsewhere. The initial color was a mix of pink and orange and I had hoped the orange would fade some as it dried. It did not. Now half of my real cedar wood fence looks like an orange fun house color. If you notice in my images it almost matches perfectly with the orange fake plastic wood that is used for my neighbor's swingset. Very unhappy and I hope this weathers quickly so I can fix it next year.

I bought this to use on new porch. I sand down all of it applied 2 coats as directions. And this is the results. Now everything has to be redone. And I don't know if it can be recoated. I have never had this happen before.

Prepped with their deck cleaner and stained it last summer. This is what it looked like within after a couple of Seattle rains. Just awful stuff.

I can assure you what people are saying about color being wrong is one hundred percent correct in my case. Acorn brown. That is a no for me. More like orange. So another customer stuck with and orange deck. $$ down the drain. Sad before and after pics below.

I've used lots of oil based deck stains. Since ingredients not listed on container, wasn't sure whether this was oil based, but spontaneous combustion warning made me think it was. However, when applied I noticed it didn't smell like an oil stain, also didn't absorb into wood like oil based. Runs, drips occur, of course, and with oil stains re-wiping is all that's needed unless completely dried. This stuff however "sets" within minutes and nearly impossible to remove run-drip marks by overwiping. See photo. Very dissatisfied!

I used this to protect the cedar boards used to build a new fence. I laid them flat to work on them because the product is the consistency of milk. I could not use it on an existing fence because it would just run off the brush before it made contact. I won’t know how well it actually works until we move into Winter weather but it looks like it penetrated so I am hopeful. The wood does look richer with the coating.

After prepping deck according to directions, one container provided the perfect color. Completed all trim and was very happy. Began applying to floor boards of deck and it is VERY RED. Color is NOT at all like previous container. All say Acorn Brown. Also, very streaked. Seems more solid cover than semi-transparent. But most importantly, color does not match! Now forced to strip deck, prep, and re-stain. I'm too old for this and have already spent a lot of money. So disappointed.

I have used this particular color to refinish my 10 year old deck. It looks fantastic. The sequoia red color is on the bright side, which makes 10 year old wood like new. Of course a thorough removal of old stain/paint is very important. I also used acorn brown for some garden furniture, which has a darker tone. When I built my Adirondack chairs recently, I chose this stain specifically for the bright color, which makes the pressure treated wood looking like premium wood

Put it on with a sponge brush. Came out fine and when i went to apply a second coat it literally beaded and repelled off. So i have some faith into it.

Stained my deck and the color was different depending on the gallon I was using. One was brown. One was orange. All labeled woodland cedar. $200 in stain (6 gallons) and I’m not pleased with product. Guess I’ll have to wait a few years and do it all over again…

I bought 4 (1) gallon bottles. The bottles have been different tints and my deck now looks like poo. Some are brown. Some are orange-ish. All say woodland cedar…

This was my first time to buy Olympic and it will be the last. Instead of soaking into the wood this just leaves a thin coat like paint, which you can rub right off. See photos. I applied this 6 months ago and all over the deck it's rubbed off. Absurd. There's no "protection" in this stuff at all! Stick with Cabot.

Each bottle had a different color i had to go over the ceiling twice which meant i spend twice as much because the color doesn't match my husband told me to call about it but i didnt just covering it again

I've used this Olympic stain for redwood planter boxes and fencing. It applies easily, has a mild odor and is reasonably durable, about 3 years. Priced right.

As one of the other reviews mentioned it’s much too orangish/red. Looks nothing like what is on the bottle. Wish I would have opened it before buying to see the actual color of it since it is not returnable. ☹️

I went to HD to get a deck seal and stain that would be the lightest option and not break the bank. Well this was $30/ gal compared to behr which was $50. The associate said this would be the lightest but didn't have a color sample to show. So.... this Acorn Brown on 20 year old pressure treated wood, looks more like redwood than what the image shows on the jug. The associate said this would be the least red- LOL. Time will tell if it holds up.

Applied to a new cypress swing ($$), less than 2 months later (see photo). I was skeptical of water base (green) coatings/penetrants. Now, seeing is believing. Oil base molecules are much smaller and go deeper into wood. DON'T BUY !!!

So disappointing. Came out of the can yellow (did not react to stain on wood), we thought it would clear up as it hardened. Turned our grey outdoor table the same yellow as it was in the can. See pics, looks like dried snot! Not sure if it was stored improperly or what at our local Home Depot, but now I have to sand it all off and start from scratch with the grey staining. Major inconvenience!

I wasn't sure that I would give this a good review as it looked very Milky and was supposed to be clear. I decided to try it on a small piece of my deck and see how it went. Well it rained last night and guess where the only standing water on my deck was at? Dried very clear as well so hopefully it will last a long time.

I have used Olympic before and it is a easy to apply product. Coverage is nice. Very little smell. Color... Well the Semi-Transparent is Semi-Transparent. You do get to see the grains of the wood nicely. BUT. The Woodland Cedar was developed by a blind person. It is freaking ORANGE.. Maybe not as bright as the paint tray.. But it is still fruity in color. Not cedar..

I purchased 2 one gallon containers of the acorn brown. First container was good but the second container was a different color than the first (darker and more red). Now my deck has parts of it with two different colors. Need to redo whole deck.

Our deck gets blasted with inches of ice in the winter. We apply the Olympic Waterguard in Harvest Gold mixed with Olympics Maximum Honey Gold 50/50 every 2 years to give us the newly treated look. Just clean and roll the stain without sanding.

We used this on a wood ramp that we have for our barn, it’s been there about a year so it’s seen it’s share of Midwest weather. We power washed it, lightly sanded it, blew it off then it was ready for stain! For the most part, we used a roller and for the cracks and sides we used a brush. The stain was so easy to apply, there where no streaks or dark spots when applying which surprised me. Everything went on evenly and then dried quickly after we were all done. The stain starts darker (or deeper looking) when starting and once it dries the wood really soaks it up and shows it’s true tone. The best part was that it didn’t take much to stain it and only takes one coat to completely cover it, so once it was coated you are done! We will be using this again to stain our deck on our house once the weather is warm again.

I really like the color of acorn brown, covered any imperfections. Two coats later looks like new.

After sanding and painting the decks, I decided to used Olympic Waterguard Transparent Wood Stain & Sealer. I'm glad I did. It was so easy to apply, dried fast and looks great. Added a nice shine to the decks and I've received compliments from the neighbor, real estate agent and apparently some interested buyers. An easy product to use, adds value to your property fast. I'll be using this at my next home, wherever I end up!
