The tree had a few leaves and what appeared to be black rot on them. Root system was none existing the tree seemed to have root rot !! I emailed online orchards about my concerns first never received a reply so i called and returned the tree back to the store . I'm very disappointed with this buy!!

im in luuv with Online Orchards you can tell the really care about their product, i am really impressed with the shipping/how trees are packaged thumbs up, compared to a previous company i purchased trees from. i will always order from online orchard through home depot one of my favorite store. i cant wait for the spring to see my trees bloom. just ordered frost peach tree. i have 2 more to get Tangelo orange tree, blood orange tree, waiting for them to come in season. My dwarf Honeycrisp apple tree arrived yesterday and was planted today. I was very impressed with the size of the tree as the tree was 33" tall from the top of its container, with bunches of leaves already formed (see photo). The roots were packaged in shavings and a plastic container, and then thoroughly wrapped in plastic to preserve moisture. The shipping box was 4' x 4" x 4" which was perfectly sized for the plant and protected it well. The root system was pretty minimal and not as shown on the website. However, I remain optimistic as the rest of the plant looks so good. Two days after planting, the tree looks great.

My trees came in 4 days early they look heathly, instructions for care were given in the box :). Their are tags that label which tree is which :). Looking forward to the delicious fruit to come!

Overall, VERY happy! Online Orchards bare root Dwarf Fuji (1), Honeycrisp (1), and Blenheim Apricot (2) trees are excellent starters for our little orchard. Online Orchards prepared the four in moist sawdust, protected hard plastic, and wrap, then shipped right away. Excellent enclosed and online directions for initial water soak, digging and prepping the planting hole and soil. We put them each in 5 gallon Home Depot buckets with water for 6 hours, dug 3-4 foot diameter holes, then mixed in some garden top soil (not much) because of our predominantly clay ground. We watered twice a day for a week, then once a day for the next three weeks (to date) and will continue for another 4 - 6 weeks. Three of the trees showed new leaves within 10 days (both apples and one Blenheim), and the last Blenheim (which had the least root fibers on arrival) just showed new leaf-buds at 3 weeks. Be patient - up to a point of about a month, I'd guess. Here in NW Olympic Peninsula, deer are constantly roaming through, so netting a perimeter 6 ft high is working great.

I got this tree for a birthday gift. It came shipped very carefully and looks very healthy. I am excited to see it grow.

My oldest sister has two generations that work for the airlines. So she travels all over visiting her children. And she use to take her container apple tree right along with her. From the moment she shared that with me, decades ago, I always wanted an apple tree of my own to grow in a container. But always living in a small apartment space made it impossible. Then it happened! Something I've never seen before: The Home Depot advertising: dwarf apple trees for sale! Which included my favorite: The Honeycrisp apple. Yet, I already had: rose bushes, several fruit trees, and bushes, honeysuckle and grape vines; not to mention a vegetable garden growing on my "postage stamp" size patio. I was perplexed as to, where was I going to place my Honeycrisp Apple Tree and its pollinator, the Red Delicious Apple Tree? I slept on it. Even deleted it a couple of times due to lack of space. And ordered it again. But I just had to have it and its pollinator the Dwarf Red Delicious Apple Tree, due to their precious nutritional value, (including the leaves) along with being delicious. So I ordered them both! It were delivered about an hour ago. As I pulled it out of its box, it debuted its absolute: beauty, grace and excellence. Oh! was I ever glad, that I decided to purchase it." It is a bare root, but it already have beautiful leaves one it! And boy is it a strong little fellow! As the wise King Solomon said: "Does not creation speak." I can't wait to plant it. It's the healthiest bare root tree I have ever seen.

This Dwarf Honey Crisp apple tree came fast and was very well cared for! I am excited to watch it grow and produce apples near my other apple tree!

As others said, a twig in the box arrived. I soaked it real well in a bucket of water so hopefully it will help it grow. So far after 3 days the leaves have perked up so im hopeful. It’s currently in a 5 gallon container but I’m going to transfer it to a bigger size one.

The tree arrived, it looked relatively healthy. Should have done more research beforehand because Honeycrisp apples are NOT self-fertilizing which means you need another compatible apple tree within 100 ft to pollinate this tree, or else you will never get any apples... The care instructions say that you can grow your tree in a 5 gallon container, which is a very reasonable amount of space, so in a few years, if the tree ends up producing fruit, I will be very impressed and pleased. 2 days after planting in the pot, the tree looks to be happy. The leaves have perked up a bit indicating that it is at least getting some nutrients, and didn't arrive at the house dead.

I got this tree just yesterday and it is in super good condition, I can see the stem is freshly greenish and has leaves on it, can't wait to see it grow and thrive.

LOVE our addition to our backyard garden! The package arrived on time and due to the weather I needed a few days until I could plant the dwarf trees. The packaging held up and was perfect even after the couple day additional waiting time. The instructions and care was easy to follow and after a few weeks planted the trees are still doing great and we look forward to enjoying apples in the future!

I was so excited to receive my two Honeycrisp apple trees. I was pleased with this product from the start. The trees were larger in size than I was expecting. One tree has a few more leaves than the other, but both appear to be healthy. I am looking forward to planting them in the next few days and adding them to my small orchard.

I'm really happy with this apple tree, I have planted it couple of weeks back, and I see few leaves coming. Can't wait to harvest some apple next year!

Tree arrived very quickly, especially during COVID-19. Opened the box bottom to remove a healthy little tree. A little crooked but hopefully we can straighten it out overtime. Soaked the straw for 2 days before planting, dug my hole, added great soil, put the little tree in and back filled, watered, and we stood in awe of our first fruit tree! The leaves drooped on the first day and I was nervous. Watered again the next morning and a few hours later, the leaves started to rise and are still looking good after 3 days. As of now, it is the size of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, but hopefully it will grow to bring us the fruit we love to eat!

We got two plants one Honey crisp and another Jonathan gold. Our of the two Honey crisp came out really well and To my shock even flowered within a month . But Jonathan didn’t survive for some reason and we Reached out home depot Customer service and they sent us another plant . This time it came with leaves and coming up very well. I would surely recommend plant from them.

we are so happy to start our little "fruit orchard". In these teying times, we are hoping our young children will gain knowledge and understanding of how hard our farmers work to produce safe food for us while also gaining gratification from helping grow their own! Cannont wait to see our tree bloom!

These Honeycrisp were two of five bare-root apple trees that I purchased last month (mid-June along with 2 Braeburn and 1 Gala). All 5 trees were potted up the day they arrived, ~3 weeks ago, and the Honeycrisp have not come out of dormancy. Only yesterday did their rootstocks break w/adventitious buds, so I'm holding out hope that these Honeycrisp will still break. Otherwise, I'll be looking for replacements, or a refund. The two Honeycrisps are the plants on the left in the attached photo. The single star rating is due to the comparison with 1 of the Braeburn (far right), and the Gala (center).

I bought a Fuji and Honeycrisp from this company. I planted and watered both per the instructions. The Fuji briefly had some small green growth on it and it disappeared quickly. The Honeycrisp has green and is still alive. I have reached out to the Online Orchards company directly however they have not replied to any emails.

Planted the apple tree after soaking roots in 1 day, after 2 weeks sprout came out. Very alive. Planted it close to another apple variety to help reproduce fruit. Can't wait to for it to bear sweet fruit. Arrived well packed.

The trees came in on time and in great condition. They are spouting leaves very quickly so far. I'm happy with purchase so far.

Now the tree has been living in the soil for a month It’s still like a stick. My other tree, Braeburn, was planted 2+ weeks later, however, already has lots of leaves growing. Does that mean my honey crisp tree is dead? Does Home Depot offer an exchange? I’m saddened as I bought the other one solely to accompany it after learned the facts of planting apple trees.

The packaging was nice and it areived on time . There were no leaves on it . Planted it exactly per instructions enclosed . Watering it twice a day , But its been 4 weeks and no leaves yet and it seems to be dead . Dissatisfied

It is already too dried I don’t think it will grow I west my money.

My bare root tree started budding as soon as I started soaking it in water. A week after planting and it has sprouted leaves and blossoms already.

It's been about a month and I wanted to make sure the tree survived before writing a review. The tree came wrapped well, roots were still wet from being covered in wet hay. On the day I received I directly placed in my garden after digging about a 1.5" of dirt. Then watered. Happy to report that it's thriving!

I was very skeptical when I removed this Charlie Brown Christmas tree looking thing from it's shipping box. But 3 weeks after planting this tree it has grown new leaves and looks really healthy.
