It does a good job of controlling fire ants but I was disappointed that I couldn’t buy the wand one and had to settle for the trigger one.

It seems to work for a couple of weeks. I only use outside. I didn't want anything that would hurt the dogs and cats. It doesn't seem to strong which is what I wanted.

Product was easy to use and eliminated the ant problem that I was having both in the interior and on the exterior of my shed.

I had carpenter ants that I used a different product on. It killed some of the ants but, didn’t eradicate them. They started growing in numbers so, I had to try something different. Ortho Home Defense did the trick with only one application. This product worked amazingly. I sprayed a little inside the house where the ants were coming in. I then spray around the whole house foundation. No ants what so ever.

Thinnest plastic
The plastic developed a hole after smaller second use. Hope our wwtp can handle this liquid. It may be great but delivery container was poor.

Decent stuff
With the help of continuing to vacuum the webs out of my window wells and using this spray it does the trick. I was using the spray alone and it wasn’t quite enough.
There’s a lot of hose on the spray nozzle as well so you can keep the jug by your side and can spray wherever you can reach without much trouble.

Spray wands don’t work
I have purchased 3 different products and the spray wands stopped working on all three. I have it hooked up properly, the wand is turned on at the top of the jug and on the wand. I have the wand lower than the jug so gravity will help it. Nothing works. Will never buy an ortho product like this again.

Ortho Home Defense does nothing for ants
I am constantly spraying Ortho Home Defense in our enclosed porch but the ants come every day in droves it does nothing to keep them away!

It does take some time for the insecticide to affect the target insect. This does not have an ingredient that immediately immobilizes the insect upon contact. You may need to reapply every 1-2 weeks until eggs/pupa have emerged and are in a "treatable" condition.
