My trigger broke from moderate pressure, making an entire gallon of product now useless. Also, a bug has to nearly drown in this weak formula. REALLY, Ortho??????

We started using this product after my mother recommend it. We had not use this spray in over 2 yrs. We would spray once week for a month, inside and out. Before we used it, we would see spiders, here and there. Once we started using it, if you did see one it was dead. But we have not seen any spiders or bugs period so we stopped spraying. Well spring 2021 has hit here in FL and we went back to spraying and this spray is a game changer. Love this product!! If it can keep bugs at bay here in this woody area in FL where the bugs are in abundance it can work anywhere. We spray everywhere, from garbage cans to the shed out back. If it's not working for you spray again you won't be disappointed.

On the label said up to 12 month protection but it is not,this is kill on contract only it control nothing even 1 day.

Oh I love this stuff since I was introduced in 2000. It's all I use 'in the house' for ants and water bugs etc. Meanwhile this be trippin on the price for the auto spout.

My house is in South FL so the summer and fall season are when bugs like ants and spiders start to make way into my home. My house is not only dark, but humid and warm due to my area, so it makes the perfect breeding ground. Lately, the problem has been astronomical. Spiders dwelling in about half of the corners of my floors or ceilings, and trails of ants in the kitchen constantly. Any food left out for 5 minutes will be infested in minutes- I knew I had to do something because it is basically an infestation at this point. So, I bought this product and sprayed it indoors around all the windows, doors and corners after vacuuming them away first. It did kill the pests on contact, however, the ant problem still persists in my kitchen although it DID do away with the majority of them. I want to say it has eliminated about 70% of them after 24 hours. They are still coming in, though. The 24 oz bottle lasted me about 2 uses around my entire house, half the first round and half the second round, so just know that if you plan on spraying both indoor and outdoor you might want to prepare yourself for going through the whole spray bottle in one usage or size up to the larger sizes. Ill be monitoring the pests for the next 12 months as it claims, but especially the ants in the kitchen which is my main concern. As of now though, the problem has GREATLY diminished thanks to this spray. I also wanted to note that at first, the ants SWARMED to this spray, it was pretty alarming how they loved it, but I believe they took it back to their colony and died after it being in their system for several hours because of the results. I dont expect it to work perfectly the first time because Ive had this infestation for well over 2 years, but it was finally time to put my foot down because it had become unbearably overwhelming how fast they would get to food or any crumbs. I wouldnt have a problem repeating this every month or every few months with how inexpensive it is. Overall, I am very happy.

I have used this for years both inside and outside works every single time! A product we can't live without!

I didn't use this right away after I purchased it. I've only used it once and the wand stopped working after one use. Waste of money. They need to remake the wand and not have the cord coiled.

I am a continued user of this product. It works wonderful inside and out getting rid of most bugs. It definitely works on spiders which is my biggest worry and annoyance. I love the battery operated sprayer but it seems to not spray as far within a few uses. Also my indoor cats somehow got fleas and it doesn’t seem to work around the inside of the house to rid of them.

Like the nozzle. Makes it easier to spray areas without a mess. Pay the extra for the nozzle.

Bought this and applied to the outside of my house on all edges, holes, crevices, door jams, window seals, etc. a few weeks ago. I was pleased with how quickly Tiger beetles started to crawl out of their holes and die. I rated the product a 3 because it did seem to work on lots of pests other than what I was targeting. I felt optimistic that this would work to help my issue with brown widow spiders, which I was/am finding by the dozen per day. However I noticed by the same evening that more brown widows had made nests on the porch, right above where I sprayed just hours earlier. I saw some responses by ortho on here to allow the pesticide 6-10 days to work on target species. However, now it has been 20+ days since I sprayed and I am still finding plenty of these spiders. The picture attached was taken just a few minutes ago. This is about the 10th one I’ve killed by hand today. All roughly the same size and all with egg sacs, meaning I will be having even more here soon.

This is a great product. I have been using this for years. I have trust in this product. Ortho has earned it. I use Home Defense in the house, the crawlspace, the attic and the garage. I would highly recommend the purchase of the spray with battery wand. It makes the job so much easier.

Reasonably priced and does the magic as good as professional exterminators.

I brought this not only did I have to qait all most a month to get and there customer service sucks no 1 never answered the phone end up calling the store, after going threw all that the stuff dobt work after a 1 or 2 I was back seeing roaches cause on the instructions it says works up to 6months to a year WRONG, I done went three half the gallon on less in 2 month, it works while its wet but after it drys about a week or so roachs was popping right back up so I have to spray at lest every 1 to 2weeks ,DONT BUY ,reviews people posting cant be right cause i not seeing what they clame to see with the spray and am a very clean person, people who live next door around me wasnt so I read reviews and friend daughter said it was good, it works but don't last long waist of money

I recently discovered that the neighborhood that I live in is heavily infested with Spotted LanternFlies I recently had purchased Ortho Home Defense Max and sprayed the perimeter of my home and noticed the next day a deceased Spotted LanternFly. I am also noticing fewer around my home.

I apply this product in my home around the doors where ants like to come in. I also spray it outside of the doors as well. It does kill most of the ants that try to come in but more ants keep making their way inside the house before they finally die after a long journey through the kitchen. The trigger makes this product easy to apply. I usually try to keep my pets and kid out of the area for a few hours while this stuff dries. Overall it did meet my expectations. I dislike the fact that dead ants are on my kitchen floor and not dead by the door. Not a big deal though.

This is the 4th gallon we have used and all the flying and non-flying insects and bugs are increasing. Don't waste your money and time. Home Depot: Don't sell this product. It will down grade you as a professional store. Ivan H. Civil Engineer

Great results works fast easy to use

bought it had to set main thing down so i could get the wand to work. part of me thinks you need to be HE MAN to get the trigger to work. so i sat the bottle down in a NON active area and all of a sudden the ants came from EVERYWHERE to get into bottle climbing all over i did not even really want to touch bottle after that

I have used this product as instructed for the past 5 days to solve my millipede problem. It hasn't worked at all. The guide says millipedes are included in the defense but I am disappointed and out $16.

This product keeps my condo completely free of any bugs!

2-3 years ago this was a great product, wand had 3 settings: stream, narrow spray wide spray. Then you "upgraded" kinda worse but still fairly functional: spray and flat spray. Now the latest incarnation: narrow spray(weak stream) and spray(dribbles out of the nozzle) Please stop "fixing" this, it was fine! Now It's garbage.

We have bought this item ready to use and very safe product for many years. We will highly recommend this spray to everyone. However. this bottle we recently bought the nozzle broke very very easily maybe the spray nozzle needs to be more sturdy? This is just a constructive opinion, other than that, it works beautifully . I rated 4 stars for that room for improvement on the spray nozzle only.

Florida ants have no problem going past when it drys

Bought this in the past 45 days and it worked well until this week. It no longer sprays. Batteries are good, nozzle is set to one of the types of sprays and the collar is turned to on. Lots of noise but nothing coming out. Any suggestions? Still gave it 2 stars due to previous experiences but this is disappointing.

PRO One of these is more than enough for a 2 story home with a built-in 2 car garage. The sprayer is easy to use If you own a home, this is an excellent perimeter defense. CON Putting the red sprayer nozzle in the bottle requires a good bit of force Your finger can get tired holding the button for more than a few minutes, tape it down or something.

Did the job for what I needed it for!

I walked around the house and sprayed around all windows and doors and then came inside and sprayed the baseboards and cabinets. That was 3 days ago. As og now, not enven the termites are getting in and we don't have to "go dark" just because the were our. Nothing, not even the termites get inside.

Recently moved and the landlord didn’t tell us until 6 months after we moved that when it gets warm out prior tenants have had issues with ants and spiders in the summer and instructed us to buy this and use it and I have used it 3 times now because we still keep getting ants coming into the apartment.

I should have stock in your company as much I as use your home defense product. I live in a woodsy area so little invaders are always trying to come in. The product works excellently especially on spiders. I gave it a 4 because of the wand applicator. I'm sorry but it's terrible. I am referring to the twist on the cap with the hole on top. The cord is so coiled that it never stays in. The liquid has a hard time flowing through due to lack of power or suction or something. Please go back to the flip cap and less coil on the cord. That snap mechanism was more secure and I fought less with the cord. Please keep in mind, ease of usability is nearly as important as the quality and effectiveness of the product. Thanks

My wife and I have been unable to rid the house of the smell after spraying one 10 ft. ant trail in our breakfast area. We washed with soap & water and even wiped the area with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, but despite absorbing all the liquid in paper towels from hard surfaces, the smell persists and is causing eye irritation and headaches. Plus, no household clean-up hints on label.
