I was very pleased with the quality of the wood and the hardware sent with the pergola. One very strong individual might be able to assemble the unit but realistically it requires 2 people to lift the parts in place. I needed 12 ft posts rather than the 9ft posts which are standard. There was a premium of $300 for the larger posts.

The company called with very good instructions on how the product would arrive, how to unload it, and even emailed detailed photos and a powerpoint on how it went together.

Quality of the wood was great and ready for staining. Great overall look!

Good design, relatively easy to install. Added a grey color stain to improve look and weather resistance and lattice top to improve amount of shade offered.

The laminated construction for the support posts is definitely a plus - it reduces the weight and allows for installation of lighting through the center. The assembly instructions could have been more clear and there was a difference in revision from the on-line version and the one included in the package - plus there was a change that affected installation if you didn't catch it. I would have preferred that there be some minimum suggestion as to footing / foundation requirement. I received great follow-up from the manufacturer, though I would suggest that a store pick-up option be added if this product is going to continue to be offered as an on-line purchase.

We ordered this pergola as an alternative to building one ourselves entirely from scratch. It arrived 4 days after the initial delivery date, which was frustrating. It was fairly easy to assemble however we did notice a few boards had some mould spots and one of the 6x6 posts began to crack when we were screwing in the lag screws. It is about a 5 inch crack right at the top, so not really noticeable, however we will have to use some wood fill and seal it to prevent it from getting worse.

The 10'x 12' Pergola is a well manufactured item. Everything is pre-drilled and ready to be assembled. I hired two contractors to put it together and I'm glad I did. They had all the tools they needed and were very careful to measure and level all the pieces as they went together. As my patio has a slight slope, I think this was very important. The two of them took an entire day to complete the assembly, not including the concrete footing digging and pouring. One note about staining the pieces; that it is very labor intensive. I probably spent 12 hours staining before it was assembled.

Quality product! The Red Cedar was of excellent quality and the kit was fairly easy to assemble.

Quality product. Mine withstood 80 mph winds and a tree falling on it. Still good to go and very stable.

The quality of this pergola was better than expected. The fit of each piece was perfect, and the instructions were good. Installation was fast (less than 1/2 day for 2 men) This company can be highly recommended for an excellent product.

I picked this kit because of the reviews I read about it. They are spot on. All pieces go nicely together and the quality is very good. I spent some time staining prior to installation which took some time. Absent the staining I assembled the panels and installed the entire thing in one day. The panels took several hours to put together (I did this alone), and once the panels were built I put the whole thing together in a matter of a couple hours. From start of assembly to fully installed I spent about 10 hours on this, with the only help coming when I had to set the posts. Other than that I was able to do the entire thing solo. The step by step instructions are very easy to follow and lack nothing. I recommend this pergola. It looks great, seems to be good quality and really looks professionally done when all said and done.

High quality product. Easy to put together. Red cedar is worth the cost--and it smells great. This is a company that prides itself in the work and has very fine customer service. We were in touch with a real person and the instructions sent with the package were very clear.

Fast improvement and made our yard cute!!! Quick and fun couples project can go over hot tub, can ad curtains around or netting , lights and top pull shade, makes a great addition on a too sunny deck.

My carpenter said it was very easy to assemble, it looks beautiful in my back yard and it is just as it was described.

We hired professional carpenters to build a pergola from scratch. After being shocked at the quote (largely due to the price of cedar, I turned to Home Depot. Everything was great from the ease of purchasing, to the call I received directly from the manufacturer (very nice and helpful). The same carpenters mentioned above assembled the pergola (about 6 hours, after adding steel footers to the concrete pad, squaring it up etc...) and they were extremely impressed by the quality of the wood, cuts, ease of assembly...everything right down to the packaging was very nicely done. We could not be happier!
