The screws rusted within 24 hours of installation! I don't know why they would have substandard metal in an item that is exposed to water everyday.

Dear Customer, As you can imagine - this is extremely unusual situation - these screws are plated and undergo rust salt testing for 96 hours - which is the standard testing for such products.
