Love this paint! The color is called "Hushed Copper" but the copper metallic notes are very subtle. The sheen, combined with the semi gloss nature causes it to be semi reflective, but it is not an over-powering metal brightness. It was super easy to apply. Only took two coats to cover a wall that had been painted orange previously. The prep work was quick and easy, with very little repairs and priming to be done.Clean-up was super simple, too. Soap and water! Not sure I could use this in an entire room, but as an accent wall, I think it's going to look great after I get the pictures hung.

Love this! I have used metallic paints before, but surface always ended up uneven. With this, the metallic flakes are very fine and even. Yes, you must stir it frequently—bring up the pigment from the bottom of the can—but it is very easy to work with. Follow instructions to smooth roll or paint first coat, then use a textured roller sponge for final coat. This gives a gently mottled effect that really adds depth, yet is subtle and luxurious.

This paint flows on smoothly. That said it is not a thick paint like we have become used to. The first coat gave the wall some color but it did not hide imperfections seen in the primer coat. Second coat covered but the third coat gave more of the luster I was expecting. ( important, she likes it ) I'm contemplating a fourth coat just to see what that will produce. It does develop color tone bands. Magic ? I will caution that it is a thin paint and I had to wipe the top of the brown tiles a couple times as it ran/sagged down a bit before setting. The first pic is of the wall after getting a skim coat of mud and a coat of primer. Second pic is after the third coat of paint. I'm considering using a richer color to see how the color bands appear.

In the past I have had to say: There is no way to describe the color of these paints as each color thus far changes with light, the amount of light or lack of, and will definitely change according to the colors of this paints surroundings. Example; If you use this paint in a room with a clear RED wall, the silvery metallic in these paint will pick up that red, making the color pinkish. Metallic Memories is a light gray with a very small hint of olive green (which cannot really be seen on wall). There is a hint of metallic, not as powerful, as much as in other colors, which makes sense for if more metallic was added to this color it would shimmer WHITE, wouldn't be able to appreciate the gray. As per norm this color is a little darker once on wall; photos will make this color appear LIGHTER because it is next to BLACK! THIS COLOR IS LIGHT to MEDIUM DARK on its own! Beautiful color! More so if you like grays. With the lights on it is a high silvery gray. Lights off it is a medium dark shimmer-free gray. It goes on wall smooth and clean. Easy to clean up water base paint. Highly recommend!

It is worth the prep work. I have never applied a metallic paint before, so this was a learning process for me. This stripe was more of a back splash effect. I primed the area first because the color I was covering was very dark and i purchased the faux finish roller to get the effect I wanted. I ended up with 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of color but it came out absolutely beautiful. I was covering very smooth walls and the finish came out smooth but slightly bumpy like it was supposed to. The color reflects light in a irregular pattern and really looks like metal, and a somewhat mottled look. I would certainly do this again. The paint coverage is excellent, really goes a long way.

Our master bedroom is various colors of light blue, white, and silver. Our closet doors were somewhat boring being just the original painted flat panels from when the house was new 30 years ago. We thought this paint would be a great way to dress up these closet doors. One door had already been primed and painted a very similar color. The other door was still the original faux wood paneling, which I properly prepped and painted with two coats of Kilz primer. I did not expect the first coat to come close to covering everything and knew it would not look too great until later. I was disappointed though by how little coverage this paint provided, it was also extremely thin. Even being painted over the almost-matching color it was still apparent more coats would be needed. On the primed door it barely covered at all. For the next coat I cut in the edges and then applied with a faux finish roller as instructed. The primed side barely covered and would still require several more coats. The painted side looked okay, but application is very tricky as every single stroke of the roller will show up. I attempted to make a nice even pattern of Vs across the door in rows, but even this didn't look great. As we were getting frustrated we finally just let it dry and painted over it with standard latex paint, which only required a single coat. Where the coverage was smooth and came out well I could see the potential this paint may have had with extremely careful prep work and application, perhaps on a textured surface. I'm hoping I can use the remainder for various craft projects on smaller items. As for painting walls it is just too hard to get an attractive finish on smooth walls. If you have the patience and the time, it wouldn't hurt to try it as I've seen some great results, but for us it just didn't work out.

As per norm with this paint, the color in the can is not what it will be on the wall. This is NOT the paints fault! It is METALLIC and therefore: 1 - will pick up the color underneath it if not given several coats (as any paint) 2 - will reflect ANY and ALL large colors surrounding it 3 - Will change color with your movement as that is how metallic reacts to shadows and changing of any and all light or lack of. One needs a good understanding of "colors" when choosing the right color for themselves with this paint. If choosing a light color, expect it to be x1 - x3 BRIGHTER in larger and well lit rooms. x1 - x3 darker if choosing a darker color more so in darker rooms. Example. Choosing a medium gray in a darker smaller den, with the lights off that gray is going to appear BLACK, with the right lighting however, it is going to gleam and shimmer as a DARK gray with a silvery shimmer. This color green is minty but a little on the darker side. One that actually doesn't have a lot of shimmer to it. It is the first color I have not liked, but that is personal taste. I have used thus far 5 different colors. TEST TEST and TEST! start with a quart with two or more colors and test on the wall you wish to paint, wait for it to dry completely (2 hours or less) then take a gander in all the lights on / off. If your painting an entire room, shouldn't be too much of a big deal unless you have some large dominating color object in the room such as a let's say RED SOFA. In high bright light this paint will pick up that red to some degree. Please note in my photos notice how the paint appears different colors in the can. This is why I don't bother showing on the walls anymore. I would have to take 40 photos of all the different colors this paint reflects. Highly recommend esp as an ascent wall!

The only reason I take one star off of these brilliant paints is because it is extremely hard to estimate the color it will be on your walls (though this is no fault of the paint or it's quality). If yo get a light color of this paint and more so if you use the paint in high and or bright light, well lit room, expect this paint to be about x1 - 3 brighter! Same with darker variations of this paint, if painting a darker color in a darker room with low light, the paint is going to appear x1 - x3 darker! Also, you must consider that this paint is METALLIC! This means the metallic WILL pick up light from other sources. Example, using this paint in a white base, your living room is painted RED and you want to paint a single wall (acsent wall) in this WHITE METALLIC. The WHITE METALLIC is going to reflect those RED walls making it shimmer some variation of PINK rather than a sparkling WHITE! Further, the wall with whatever color you choose, WILL change as you move within the room, from light to bright, and ever so slight of hues of its own color because it is METALLIC! If painting anything other than a white wall, expect to paint x2 - x3 to get he true color of the paint color you choose. Again the metallic is going to pick up what is under it at one coat. My best advice is to order several colors closet to what you're looking for in quarts. Test! To the paint itself, good coverage, easy to clean up, water base, goes on smooth. A good all around paint, no surprises other than the colors. Highly recommend this paint, for more than just walls as well. NOTE: I showed this paint still in can as there is no point in showing it on the wall. Not even a billion dollar camera can or will show the "real" color of the paint as it doesn't have a "real" color once on a wall as it reflects off of everything in its surroundings. This paint is WHITE with WHITE metallic making it an OFF WHITE or SILVERY color in low light and BRIGHT WHITE in high light.

Want to experiment with Metallic GOLD accents, get great results Model # MTL138-01 Internet #301859021 PPG METALLIC TONES 1 gal. #MTL138 Golden Saffron Metallic Interior Specialty Finish Paint My daughter-in-law is experimenting with color and wanted to try using gold as an accent wall and as grout lines. Sorry about the color in the photo of the accent wall, it really is a gold color. See the photo of the gold grout lines for better color. They recommend two coats and I agree, you get a much better shine with two coats. Manufacturer comments: Provides a beautiful hammered metal finish Use 2-coats to achieve the metallic look 1 gal. will cover approximately 200 sq. ft. with 2-coats

I have not used a metalic paint before so this is an on-going experiment. I put two coats on the side of a box to see how the color would compare to the swatch on my computer screen. It definitely looks different depending on the intensity of the light and the angle from which it is viewed so this would be best used in an application in which an exact color match was not critical. I'm not sure that I would use this as a solid color on a wall but I think it would be stunning to use it in a patterned application. I went to Pinterest and searched for metallic painted walls and found several ideas including the attached video. (Keep in mind that if you do use paint in a patterned application that you will also need to add a gel product that will keep the paint wet longer so that you can work with it.) I also looked at metallic painted furniture and although most was painted with a silver metallic paint, I think this and other colors would work just as well. This is a latex paint and clean up was quick and easy.

Metallic Tone Copper Kiss Base Paint. By GLIDDEN. I chose to paint instead of looking at the stone tiles on the wall so ,I decided to rip it all down and paint the walls instead, the color of copper sounded cool so I decided to give it a shot, it has a rich copper/gold color to it. I would use a white primer first to bring the color out. It give the room a different look, as far as I can tell, the paint does not fade and vary little odor to worry about, and you can easily clean the brushes with warm water and soap. Nice Color, Yes, I would recommend this product.

As many of my fellow DIYers will do, I first tested a new product (to me) in my shop before bring it into my home. To run it through it's paces I painted a piece or bare wood (pine) trim around a peg board, second a pre-painted cabinet door (wood) and third a pre-painted metal door on my paint locker. Pictures of all three included. I am not a professional painter, so I look for ease of use, final out come and ease of clean up. First ease of use, can says two coats to get desired effect, believe it! First coat you will not be impressed with the out come, it does need the second coat to get that metallic look. Both wood surfaces were easy to paint and covered well. The metal door was harder to get a smooth result, to be fair the paint never says it can be used on metal. Would not be my first pick to paint metal. Final out come, I liked it the best doing the trim coving bare wood, good coverage and most desired effect. The other two surfaces came out good also, just not as good. Ease of clean up, was able to wash out my paint brush with a little soap and water, use the same brush for another project a few days later and brush had came totally clean. Best recommendation I can give any item for indoors projects, my wife saw it and is now looking for a use in the house for this paint. Well done and I do recommend this product.

I am not a professional painter but have painted my share of walls. My main issue with this paint is that it does not dry evenly and the coverage when using a paint brush for the trim was thin and I needed to paint some areas 3 times. Coverage with a roller was good, the oder is mild and the overall color is nice but as my photos show, it is not an even coat. I have tried to paint with metallic pant in the past and it was difficult as well.

Hi there, Thanks for your honest feedback. You are correct- metallic painting isn't the easiest to work with. It does take a minimum of two coats to achieve a metallic look, and it comes down to how the paint was applied and what type of tool was used. A roller is ideal for metallic paint. If I can ever get around to it, I'm planning to do the whole bathroom with a combination of paints, this fabulous metallic being one of them; I saw a street painter who had painted the entire wall of an abandoned building using metallic and other colors and have been inspired to do the same since then. Of course, she had talent, so there's no telling how it will turn out once I try it. But I have done a little medicine chest with this, so I'll include the photos. By the way, this paint takes a LOT of stirring before it's really mixed!

I got this paint to create an accent wall in my granddaughter’s bedroom. She really thought the color was beautiful (she’s 7 and loves all things pink). However, this paint is difficult to work with as it is very easy to create streaks. I have trimmed in the edges and painted the walls twice to achieve some semblance of uniformity but it does not look good. The edges of the wall where I used a brush don’t seem to really match the rolled part of the wall. I’m going to give it one more coat to see if that helps. This paint would probably be beautiful if sprayed on, or used on a piece of furniture - I’m just not having a good result.

1 gal. #MTL114 Aqua Essence Metallic Interior Specialty Finish Paint is expensive and the result is minimal. The paint has great coverage but is extremely hard to get even coverage. There is a sheen to the paint but I would not say it is metallic. It has a "different" luminous hue to the finish. I intended to use it for an entire wall as an accent wall. After several attempts I realized I was never going to get it in a smooth streak free coat. I finally gave up and used it in a painted design on a wall. It is hard for me to justify the cost considering the small result.

These paints are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to review! It has a base color however, once on the wall the paint IS 3 to 4 colors depending on light and surroundings. The paint literally shimmers! Using a brush, crisscross strokes will make textured effects causing all of the paints "colors" pronounced. Whatever *darker* color you choose PLEASE note that it will be x2 - x3 darker than you expect. Whatever *lighter* color you choose PLEASE note that it will be x2 - x3 lighter in light, high WHITE reflection. Easy clean up, water base - no surprises. Colors are glorious. WHIMSICAL WOODS METALLIC - Think PEACOCK! Blue-Green - DARK Jade PLEASE do not JUDGE this paint by my PHOTOS! It would be horribly UNFAIR to this paint as I said the metallic will reflect its surroundings and unfortunately my walls are a dreadful color at the moment. HIGHLY recommend this paint!

This aqua colored metallic paint is very pretty, but not ideal for walls. It was a little easier to work with than a darker shade of PPG's metallic paint line that I recently used, but is still thin and pretty much impossible to get an even coat. Even two well stirred, well applied coats left obvious roller marks and didn't cover wall repairs (the actual drywall mud). It doesn't state on the can, but the finish appears to be a gloss. I really wanted to love this metallic paint, but it just doesn't give coverage. It may be better if used on projects such as stenciling, borders, or other smaller paint projects.

This is great paint. It lives up to its price point in sheer coverage ability. That being said, I chose this color from an online site and should not have assumed that it would be as true when painted onto a white wall. Usually, I pick up paint chips at Home Depot, bring them home, stick them up, live with them for a few days, then go back to the store with my choice and order my paint. This time I thought I had found the perfect color. Turns out, you just cant trust computers to accurately show a true color. I used it anyway and am pretty glad I did. It goes really well with my wallpaper, and matches the sheen of my slate floors. I wanted something more silvery, less gunmetal, but the color is called "Foundry" so I should have assumed more burnished lead. But it applied well, cleaned up great, and looks like a nice upgrade, all in a days time.

I would be the first one to tell you that painting is not something I like doing, but when I do, it the results are so satisfying And my experience with this PPG brand of paint was not an exception. it was easy to apply, easy to clean up, and only took 2 coats to cover up black paint! Everything turned out great! I'm actually looking forward to tackling more painting projects after seeing the results PROS: *Fairly priced *Beautiful hammered metal finish (It looks the way they describe it ) *Easy cleanup *Perfectly packaged for shipping *Looks great! Overall a very solid product 5 out of 5 stars I recommend this product

"Crinkle" is a really gorgeous, lush color, but either your walls better be in great shape, or you need to use this on intentionally rough surfaces. A third option may be to just use it in dimly lit rooms. This paint has to be re-stirred frequently and this finish will show all the imperfections on your wall in natural light. I tested this on an extremely dry/damage-repaired wall that had had the same flat paint on it for 18 years and it brought out all of the flaws I had missed in repairs. The directions recommend 2 coats rolled, but it takes at least 3 coats if brushed. Also, I am not sure what type of finish this is. The metallic makes it difficult to tell. I'd assumed it would be a higher gloss, but I think maybe it's closest to eggshell or maybe semi-gloss (?). The pics I attached make it look appropriately metallic, but that is not exactly how it looks in natural light. Whether you like this finish, or not, will completely depend on the surface you apply it to in relation to the lighting in the room.

Lots of work but worth it. Only faux sponge painting works so you will need to purchase a sponge roller and/or sponge pad or some other faux finishing applicator. After you prime, seal and wash the walls you can cut in the edges and roll with a regular roller the first coat. I did two coats because it is hard to get against molding, corners, fixtures and such and I like to know it won't easily scratch or have flaws. Don't give up when the finish is not what you hoped, this is just a base coat. After the coat dries then roll or pad on the faux coat of paint. This is when the look all comes together. I used two inch painters tape everywhere I could because this paint is real thin and drip, splatters and otherwise finds a way to leap off the wall. My faux applicator was a small six inch roller natural sponge pad. When the faux coat is going on it is going to be real drippy. Use a V pattern about 2' by 2' to roll it on. As you add more 2' by 2' sections continue to go back to old sections and feather them all in together until the roller pad starts feeling like it needs more paint. That is the roller pad talking to you and saying move on to another 2'2 area. Eventually, you will have the wall done and it will be all one consistent look. I gave this product a three because it is hard to do and I felt like the instructions could have been better since this is a big dollar purchase that many people have not done before. It does look good

At first I could not recommend this paint but after doing research I realized the the sub-par results I had were caused by my own lack of knowledge on how to apply Metallic paint. To apply metallic paint, first apply a primer coat. Then use your brush for the edging only. Use a small roller to get as close to the edge as possible. Lastly, use a large roller to apply to the rest of the area. When applying, use a generous amount to get an even coat. From my attached picture you can see that I did NOT use a primer and I used a brush since I was testing in a small area. The first coat did not cover, the 2nd coat as you see covered better. I did 3rd and 4th coats with a brush and as the successive picture show, there was always light and dark areas. When I do the entire room I will apply a primer coat and then roll the wall as I stated above. I strongly recommend that if you are using metallic paint for the first time that you check out several u-tube videos to learn how experts apply this paint This is expensive paint and hard to apply, so I give the value a rating of 3.

This PPG abundant blue metallic interior specialty finish paint looks great in the small bathroom I covered. The manufacturer recommends using two coats to get the best metallic affect. The first coat looked good but I had enough to do a second coat and it looked great. The can states it will cover 200 square feet with two coats. I used a 3/8 inch nap roller on both cotes but you can use a faux finish sponge roller on the second coat to get a different effect. Probably because of the metallic finish you have to stir the paint well and I kept the paint well stirred as I applied the paint to prevent streaks. I am pleased with the look in the small room I painted and may try different colors with different application methods. It comes in 42 different colors and the manufacturer gives guaranteed results.

My wife was very excited to see this metallic purple color available so she added this paint job to my honey do list. Our bathroom was a gray / pink before and we wanted a slighter darker color. Unfortunately, we picked the color based on the picture that you see on the website. The paint is actually much darker and does not have that silver sheen that you see in the picture. Pros - Fumes are not as strong as other brands Applies fairly easy and has a nice finish Cons - 2 coats of paint were enough to cover the original color - gave up after 4 coats of paint to see if we can achieve the mettalic look.

Great tone and sheen to this paint. I do a lot of woodworking and crafting and used this on part of a logo concept I'm working on. It's supposed to be a glossy sheen, but I didn't find it overly glossy like other paints with that type of sheen. It has a really nice metallic tone to it. I did have to use two coats to get it to cover so you may have to do so as well. But it covered nicely with the end result. I used a paint brush because it's a small project, so I may have gotten better results with the first coat if I'd used a roller. For that, I'm not going to say it's a "con" because there are some paints out there that require a couple of coats. This is a latex paint so it cleaned up easily from the bit that I got on my hands. I don't know that I'd use it as a wall paint because it doesn't fit with my home's decor, but it's a great paint to have on hand for woodworking and other crafts. I will get a lot of use out of this paint.

HUSHED COPPER METALLIC PAINT. I'm doing a project where I was hoping to accent the 4" space in between vinyl quartz stucco and I was expecting to be metallic shiny finish to some extent, I even call the PPG to check did I have make mistake on applying the paint to the wall and PPG costumer rep. said I did not, or better say I did it right way. I hate to say that paint did not meet my expatiation being the metallic, but as a paint it self it is a high end quality paint simply because the first coat was going really smooth and drying consistently without major imperfections. I was expecting more of shimmering glow of copper in it after the second coat, instead I got the more of chocolate brown eggshell finish, I'm fine with that but some people may expected more from the paint that is explained as a HUSHED COPPER METALLIC. In the can paint looks like is going to be metallic but when is dry on the wall paint louse the metallic property and become more like eggshell finish. (See the pick) Believe me even with what I say about this particular paint it is really good and is going on walls smooth and consistent and I would buy it again because of it property. As I maintenance personal who paint the walls almost every month 1st week in the month the PPG paint is among the best paints on the market. Only this paint in my PERSONAL opinion is wrongly advertised as a metallic paint.
