Hello! Please know that we completely understand your disappointment, but be assured that the current condition of your plant is perfectly normal! Our shrubs ship dormant (bare, no leaves or leaves falling off) from November - April. During dormancy, plants go inactive and conserve their energy for the next growing season. This happens naturally as seasons and weather change. When the weather conditions begin to transition and get warmer, your dormant plants will wake up and return to business as usual! INVASIVE - DO NOT PLANT
It is invasive in at least 25 states. The name is also misleading as it does not host any native species of butterfly or moth. They are terribly destructive to the ecosystem as they displace native plants. There are better native alternatives.

Hi Nina! While some varieties of Butterfly Bushes may be invasive, all Proven Winners plants are noninvasive, including our Butterfly Bushes. Some are seedless and others have seeds that are not viable. Proven Winners has bred the invasiveness out of our plants so that they have only the good qualities and none of the bad! I was SO hopeful for this bush but the locusts eat it at night. I have had to drench it with Neem oil and I am hoping it will recover. Otherwise it is a complete wash out. Very disappointed.
