So far we haven't got to use it. We do like it though. The only thing that would make it really good would be if there was a shade to pull down on the narrow end.

Just installed this pergola. We are loving it so far. The only issue we had was installing it to the concrete patio. The instructions do not include what size concrete drill bit is recommended or even tell you what size the bolts provided are so that you can figure out the size. After finally figuring out the size of the bolt, then we couldn't find a concrete drill bit that was the right size. I would recommend including in the instruction what size the bolt is and recommendations for drill bit size. Other than that the installation was very easy and I have enjoyed the pergola so far. I would rate it a 4.7 overall.

This is an addition to my original Half21 review. The canopy provides shade relief but seems porous and does not completely block sunlight. I still somewhat like the pergola for shade, but the canopy leaks like a sieve during rain. Very disappointed since my previous smaller 8X8 pergola had a waterproof canopy and we could sit under the canopy during rain. I guess I should have read the fine print, I have reduced my overall rating to 3. Still useful, but not as good as I expected. Another complaint. The canopy seems too long and bulges down too much when fully extended. A slightly smaller canopy would correct this problem.

Like the product. Somewhat easy to assemble with help. Really like the retractable cover. Cover has imperfections in the material. Contacted vendor about the defect. They ask that I disassemble and return. A lot of work to disassemble and return.

Very happy with this purchase. It was very well packaged in 3 boxes & easy to transport in my own vehicle (I have a mid-sized SUV), so I did not need to have it delivered. The directions to put it together were easy to follow. It took my husband & I approx 3 hours to put together.

Really good product in my opinion. It’s lite enough to maneuver but strong enough to be lasting. The tarp is purus but really blocks the sun. Not difficult to assemble, I was planning to hire someone then I got my drill and got in there a boom it was almost done, follow the advice and have 3 people.

I really like the pergola, but very disappointed in the aluminum. It has all oxidized and looks terrible. If I had known, I wouldn't have bought it. This happened very quickly. Not pleased at all.

Assembly time for a regular dude: 8 hours solo... and about 1 hour with one or two additional persons. Will be necessary for two people during two stages. Instructions very good except part about magnets. Aluminum is quite light... have not anchored yet, but certainly will. Overall I am quite impressed, it looks great. Looking now for a replacement canopy to order in advance for certainly it will wear out.

I had the pergola installed by my carpenter just recently - so far I am very pleased. The components are well engineered and the material appears to be of good quality.

I bought this because the top is more open than a traditional pergola that has 2 layers of perpendicular slats on top. The open feeling of the parallel braces is what I wanted with the ability to also shade completely if desired. The woven poly fabric used for the sliding shade is durable and heavy. It is similar to the material used on umbrellas that can be power washed and last forever. The finish really looks like wood! The shade it provides is complete. Yet when it it open it is so airy. Magnets in the frame hold the shade slide to one side when no shade is required. It was tricky to put together. Many steps but easy to follow with the guide. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants both sun and fill shade choices in a beautiful design!

Easy to assemble. Used cement footings and is sturdy in the wind. Covering didn't come with a way to secure it to one side and had to come up with a way to secure it.
