Worked Very Well For Me
I had to dig a trench for an auto-fill line for a water feature in soil that is mostly clay and rock.
After I finished and closed the trench, I added about a 1/2 inch of topsoil and the Pennington One Step. I watered it about every other day and in less than two weeks, I had good seed germination.

Sprouted in 5 days!
We planted this in a spot with very little sun on the 9th and it was sprouting today, the 14th. It was watered 3 times a day the first 3 days, then twice a day thereafter. The ground is kept moist, but not soaking wet. Our only complaint is that, with the fertilizer, there is only about 12% grass seed. However, we added extra shade grass seed and we are very happy with the results! The added fertilizer mixture must be what gives it a great boost. We will definitely be getting more to help with erosion in the shaded areas. Look closely at the picture and you will see the grass sprouting.

Pennigton 1 Step Sun and Shade
An absolutely amazing product! Usually dont buy anything other than Scotts Turf Builder, however this was on sale - 2 for the price of 1- which was a great deal, and couldnt pass it up. Saw results in the first week which was promising. As long as you water at least once a day it will grow like crazy! Its recommended for bare spot use but I used it for seeding a new lawn and its amazing. Thick green grass in at least 2 weeks!

Didn't Work
After 15 days, there is no sigh of growth. But I also used grass seed in an adjoining area and now have growth (where grass seed was used).

I have had great luck with Pennington seed, but this was garbage. There was more filler than seed and hardly any of the seed germinated. Total garbage. I was hugely disappointed.

Definitely will buy again
I have had very good results with The Rebels grass seed,definitely have to keep it wet.

What’s said and what it looks
What’s described is false. Has more weeds then grass and the germination over 21 days for the grass but the weeds well that was quick. Honestly research and realize lots of the reviews come from them,so honestly don’t waste your money

Typically, grass seed can take up to two weeks in optimal conditions to germinate, but can take longer if the weather is cooler or warmer than the recommended range. Excellent product for small areas.
Easy to use and looks good after 4 weeks. The coverage stated of is a bit over stated. I had to use a whole second bag after two weeks to get good coverage over 150 sq.ft. Still, the One Step product I would recommend as excellent.

Nothing - Nada - ZIP
Followed directions to a t. Even put in top soil to help prep the bare spot. Nothing yet after 2 weeks. Still hoping something will grow but about to give up on this stuff and stop watering. Really disappointed in this. Usually HD has good products. Not this one.
I got a All in 1 ast year that was like kryptonite. The kind they use for fast growing grass on the roadsides or construction zones but did not make a note of the name of it. Anybody with any good all-in one seed and fertlizer recommendations would be appreciated.

Hello, we recommend using this product in early spring or early fall. Grass seed can take 7 to 14 days provided that the soil temperature is warm enough to support germination. WEEDS 100%
tried this on our lawn and now I have to plow it all under 100% weeds poi anna I can not believe HD even sells this junk read the reviews the ones about weeds got it right ...never again will buy products from this compnay.

Worked and also like it said it would do. I found to be better than the other brand Scott’s Brand. It worked in area that has mostly direct sun and a very dry spot too.
