Effectively reduce solar heat and glare
Bought this for my south facing windows and they worked awesome! No more ‘burn’ feeling on my skin in the afternoon. The maternal is thick and quality is good. I started with 0.14 spline and it was tight and difficult. 4 screens later I switched to 0.125 and it was much much easier. So recommend buying both sizes and try both of them out first. Drop a star because of chemical odor at first but ok after couple days in the sun and it was delivered WITHOUT ANY packaging. See pic comparison.

Replacing lanai screens for wife with lupus
screen material is a UV reduction screen that allows about 20 % of the Sun light through. It allows my wife (that has lupus) to go out onto the pool deck without adverse reactions. I ordered two rolls of the 84” x 100’ screen material, online, and picked it up at my local HD store. If you do the same, be sure to inspect the material in the store. The $550 (each) roll is shipped in a plastic sleeve, and both of my rolls looked like they had been dragged a lot on their journey. I lost about 15’

      Sun screens
We bought these and I installed them myself, we like the privacy they provide as you cannot see into the house day or night but you can see out pretty good. They also look very nice on the windows as well. Not to mention they are guaranteed for ten years and I was replacing the standard screens about every 3 years in this Texas sun!

The look from the ouside is great
Looks great from the outside. Nice and dark. But on the inside it looks grainy. My clear view is GONE. Oh and dont let it rain. No view at all. My dog hates them. He doesnt look out windows anymore. I never open my windows so i can’t rate on the air flow but right now i am online looking for different screens.

I bought some solar screening (not Phifer brand), frame pieces and tools at a Home Depot store to making a window screen. It was not as hard as I expected so I ordered a roll of Phifer solar screening to make 4 more window screens. The Phifer solar screen is better at blocking solar heat than what is available in the store and I would highly recommend it if blocking the sun is what you want. Make sure you get the correct size spline for your frames and this screening.

Bought three rolls of these because they had the best price at Home Depot. Been having high electric bills because of no shade on our trailer. These changed everything. We made our own solar screens and now our air conditioner runs one-third as much. Total was $500+ but made 17 screens for house and garage. Screen was only $218 of that

This is the 1st time i've re-screened my own screens. I had some hail damage and decided to fix them myself. I chose this darker screen to help keep the heat out. I like it that its harder to see in my windows than out. Its a little thicker, thus making it a little more snug to push it into the groove on the screen frame. It hurt my hands some, but worth it....and it looks great!

This was my first time replacing the screens in my screen window frames myself. Charcoal Super Solar Screen is more like fabric than typical screen material which made it VERY easy to work with. The sun beats down on the back of my house all day so I replaced all my sun-facing windows and my sliding screen door with this material. Like other reviewers mentioned, it definitely dims the incoming light (as you can see my my side-by-side photos). It also makes it more difficult to see out to the street at nighttime. So those are important considerations. I'm so glad I decided to do this on my house though. I'm excited to see the energy savings!

Love this product! Made an instant difference in the temperature in my house. The other reviews are correct in that it reduces air flow. I had to cut small vent holes in the screen to allow the exhaust to exit from my portable air conditioner.

I love the way it looks and works on the two south facing sliding glass door screens I installed it on. I removed the old screen material and installed the solar screen on each screen frame in about an hour and a half. The installation was fairly easy, facilitated by using duct tape to hold the screen frame to a flat surface so it doesn't move around while working on it. I also used duct tape on the solar screen material corners so it also didn't move and stayed taunt until it was secured. I removed each piece of tape close to where I was working, one at a time, until done. This roll of solar screen contains enough material to do three doors.

Super Solar Screen....the ONLY way to go...
Super Solar Screen is easy to install, plus it has other benefits that are definitely worth paying a little more than other conventional screening products. Besides it's basic function of keeping insects and the sun's rays away, it also provides privacy and deflects blowing rain and heavy winds. I've had Super Solar Screen on my primary residence for 21 years and just recently installed it on my new home at my farm. It's a great product and I would strongly recommend it to anyone considering a screened area.

Worked surprisingly well - No Need to Tint Windows !!
Bought this screen fabric based on another reviewer's idea of using as sun shade material for non-opening windows. We cut the screen material to fit the windows, turned over a small hem at the top, stapled it together to create a small rod pocket. Suspend these guys on the inside of our windows with spring tension rods. They work FANTASTIC!! We can see thru them, the plants still get lots of light, they block so much of the afternoon sun and heat, and when Summer's over - just pluck 'em right out of the window to save for next year. I only bought one 25ft roll and it did 4 big windows in my 12 window great room. I'm ordering more! Easy to do, cuts with scissors - I am so happy with it ! Two 25 ft rolls for $52.00 each is way better than $900 to tint the windows - and I can remove it at any time. Totally recommend!

          Works Great!!
Works great!! All of the windows on our house face south and west, which means we get a lot of sun coming into the house during the day. One of the west facing windows is a giant ceiling-to-floor picture window in our living room that let in all of the hot afternoon sun and left our living room uncomfortably warm. Since we've replaced all of the old screen with this solar screen we've noticed a considerable difference in not only the living room, but the whole house. It's much more cooler and comfortable in the house (including upstairs) without having to drop the temp down on the AC. The screen did make it a bit darker, but I'm ok with that. The daytime privacy it adds is a bonus. It was quite easy to install as well - I installed some of the screens myself and my husband did the others. We've also paired the screen with Gila Titanium Heat Control Window Film. A bit overkill? Maybe, but being able to sleep comfortably at night and keeping the house cool was definitely worth it and both products do what they're supposed to do.

Keep your house cool with added privacy! =)
I live in Las Vegas and the summer sun is super hot... I was able to cover four of my windows with just one roll and it makes a huge difference...my house is a few degrees cooler cause of the screens. Another added bonus is additional privacy... people can't see into the house during the day, but you're able to look out. Awesome.

          Love this screen
I absolutely love this screen. I can't say if it will help with cooling bills because I have half screens, but I love the way it cuts the glare in the house. One reviewer didn't like the look because she had half screens. I don't see that as an issue. My husband wanted to pay someone to install screen for us, but after watching a couple of YouTube videos I knew I could do this. Don't buy the Phifer Black Screen Mouse (cheap plastic) buy the Spline Roller with Wooden Handle instead it was cheaper and worked much better.

            Looks nice.
I put the screen on this past weekend and it looks real nice. I did a test for two days, one with the new screen and one with the regular old screen. During the day there really isn't a huge difference when looking outside (see comparison photo). The cats and dog didn't have a preference and sat in front of both windows to look out. :) This did increase the privacy when looking in, but only during the daytime. It makes it real hard for the passerby's to simply look in without trying. At night it does make it a bit harder to see out when it's dark on the outside with no lighting. Obviously if your lights are on inside those passerby's can see in, it just shades it a little bit, but not much. The privacy plus is definitely during the day. A big plus is it helps with the pesky little tiny flying insects that would squeeze through a regular screen. This has helped reduce those little suckers! I don't find them on my counter top in the kitchen much anymore. The biggest downfall to this screen is the breeze you lose. I held up a piece of paper in front of the regular screen and the paper blew horizontal. However, when I held this same piece of paper up to the new screen it only moved a little bit. Overall, I'm still very pleased with the screen. It looks much better on the outside, kind of classy, and it does help with the privacy during the day. I believe it will also help with UV damage on the inside since it does help with the strength of the sun that comes in, as you can see in one of the other photos.
