Works really well! Compared to Leslies Pool Shock / Others
When searching for a good pool shock that can help also control and kill Algae, I chose this product because it contains the needed chlorine but also copper to help mitigate and kill algae growth. I use this product once a week to every 2 weeks, along with using the chlorine tabs in the auto chlorinator to keep the water sanitized and clear. When using other types of pool shock, they only contain a higher dosage percentage of the active chlorination chemical, and they do not have the copper in their ingredient list. Even when keeping up the chlorinating tabs, and the other types of shock, I noticed that the amount of brushing I had to perform was much more than with a shock containing the copper. I would highly recommend this product along with pairing it with chlorinating tabs to make pool maintenance much easier. The amount of brushing I have to do with this shock is much less than before. If this one is not available, I would recommend the Clorox 6 in 1 shock as well too as it also contains the copper.

Response from Pool Time SupportOct 27, 2020
Hi Jim, We are the manufacturer of Pool Time products. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that your experience with our MAXBlue Shock did not meet your expectations. Algae problems can occur in the best kept pools, and once established can be difficult to treat. Algae is a living organism, and does not always respond the same. Even when a product is used according to label directions, it may be necessary at times to treat the water more than once, depending on the type and persistence of the algae. Our Technical Solutions team would be happy to help you with troubleshooting your pool's algae problem in more detail. If you are interested in troubleshooting, or have other pool care related questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-800-252-POOL (7665). Thank you. PoolTime

    WARNING
Not a bad product if you do not use it regularly. I prefer using shock with the calcium hypochlorite ingredient as it does not raise your Cyanuric Acid levels. Too much of this product will require you to drain your pool 30% and refill with fresh water.

Turned my pool water dark green
I bought this here as my pool store was closed. Put it in and ran the filter overnight. The next morning, my pool that had a slight amount of algae before now was unrecognizable with Dark green algae. Went to my regular pool store and was told this had happened before with this product.

Response from Pool Time SupportSep 21, 2020
Hi Yuck, We are the manufacturer of Pool Time products. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience with our MAXBlue Shock. Algae typically does not have the ability to grow overnight from slight amounts to large amounts. However, if metals were present in the water, the reaction where metals come out of solution can occur very rapidly and can discolor pool water overnight. If you would like to discuss further, or have other pool care questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-800-252-POOL (7665). Thank you. PoolTime
MAXBLUE WORST POOL SHOCK PRODUCT EVER SOLD
Dear Customer Care at Home Depot.com.    The product Max Blue 10 pack for shocking pools,  active Ingredients labels are not readable on all 20 bags. By the time I realised the available chlorine was only 39%, I had wasted 12 bags of the 20. All other stores contain at least a minimum available chlorine 54% to 72% per cent. With the low 54% you can still shock the pool. But No way can you shock a 30,000 gal pool with 3 max blue 1 lb bags containing 39% chlorine. I used 12 bags not knowing the product was so % chlorine low. The bags ingredient disclosures are all faded precisely on the chlorine % section. Please reimburse my complete total amount of $69.96. I have the 8 unused bags to send back to you. You will see the faded INGREDIENTS sections on all bags. And that needs to be addressed and corrected, by the Home Depot supplier. The consumer needs to see the amount of chlorine in the product he is buying. Especially for shocking a pool. Your prompt response is needed and appreciated. NONICK

Response from Pool Time SupportSep 17, 2020
        Hi NONICK,

We are the manufacturer of PoolTime products. We appreciate your feedback about our MAXBlue Shock product. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. As listed on both outer box and package labeling, our MAXBlue Shock contains 63.05% sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione and yields 39% free available chlorine. When applied according to label directions, Pooltime MAXBlue shock will add just under 4 ppm of free chlorine to the pool water which is perfect for a weekly maintenance routine that allows for swimming to resume in as soon as 15 minutes after application, assuming that your pool’s free chlorine level is back within the normal, 1 to 4 parts per million, range.

Pooltime MAXBlue is a premium blended pool shock designed for weekly use to remove organic contaminants and kill pool algae. In addition to the primary active ingredient, the formulation also includes components that provide many other benefits to swimming pool water. When applied according to label directions, MAXBlue Shock can clear cloudy water, improve the performance of your pool’s filter, and helps prevent corrosion and scale, all while not impacting the pool water’s pH.

If you would like to discuss further or have any other pool care questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-800-252-POOL (7665). Thank you. PoolTime
