Last year the pellets you sold were great, much less ash. This year looks like you went cheap and dirty! I ordered a ton and paid online, the pellets were loaded on my truck. I was very surprised when I cut the plastic covering the pellets to find a different brand! Figured I had to burn them and see how they do - not happy. I live 45 miles away from the Home Depo.

Thermal Glo long pellets jamming
The first ton onf Thermal Glo pellets were slightly larger than the Fireside Ultra we used to get from Home Depot, but they burned well with only moderate ash. The second ton of Thermal glo had many pellets 1.5 to 2.5 inches in length throughout the bags. There are a lot of 1 inch pellets but they don't seem to cause any issues by themselves. The longer ones form bridges in the feeder opening to the auger in our Harman Advance and the pellets are then blocked from the auger. This has never happened with any brand of pellets in the 15 years we have been running this stove. It turns out that there are two different types of bags for Thermal Glo : one with clear plastic on the sides and ones with no clear sides, just pale yellow as the rest of the bag. The solid color bags all have pellets too long and cause jamming. I have been dropping the bags on the garage floor about 10 times and then going through each bag to break up manually the excessively long pellets. Checked my remaining tons - one is good and one has the bad ones.

Premium Pellets made in Maine
Excellent wood pellets. They burn very well. Very small amount of ash. In my six or seven years of burning wood pellets. The're one of the best I've used. The bag says that there a premium grade. I would agree. Highly recommend this brand. Hopefully my local HD keeps them in stock. I'm heading back to the store to buy 2 more tons.

Depends on The Brand (avoid Freedom Fuel)
I purchased two pallets of pellets the same day at Home Depot in Hamburg, NY. I was given two different brands. The first pallet was Nations Choice. It was completely sealed off from the elements and the pellets were much darker. These pellets deserve a high rating. However, the second brand that they carried (red, white and blue bags) Freedom Fuel were inadequately wrapped and should not be purchased. Most of the bags had moisture penetration and had large lumps of saw dust. The pellets are of a lighter color and fall apart easily. Every bag (so far) has a large percentage of sawdust in it. I'm not sure if it was how Home Depot stored them or how they were manufactured/packaged. Returning the second pallet wasn't an option once opened and stacked.

Terrible
We have bought these pellets in the past and never had an issue. I don't know if they were stored wrong or what but the bags were very thin and half of the two pallets purchased are unusable. Of course since we bought in October in preparation for winter, and stored them in our garage we didn't know they were bad until now. Cannot return after this long but we will never buy these pellets again!

Terrible Due to Improper Storage by HD
I have bought every brand of wood pellets from HD and it's totally hit or miss. Sometimes they're fine and sometimes they're awful. And the biggest factor is whether or not they got wet sometime. Often there is no way to know if they got wet once in the past. Then the pellets will have clumped and/or disintegrated, and often you won't realize it until you've already dumped them into your stove. Then there's a good chance you're going to get a clogged auger and have to clean out the whole thing. It's a tedious process. Home Depot should know better.

Green Supreme Wood Pellets
I bought 7 pallets of wood pellets. Home Depot delivered Green Supreme. I never tried this brand. Don’t buy them, they are horrible! I think the company packs wet pellets. Pellets are swollen and a lot of sawdust. They clog my stove and I have to clean it to often. It’s ridiculous! DON’T BUY GREEN SUPREME WOOD PELLETS!!!!!!!!!

Lignetics Green Supreme
Worst pellets ever. I would think a company like Lignetics would not sell crap like this. Constant clinkers, filled the ash pan on only 1/2 ton. Heavy soot on the inside of the stove. I still have the other half to burn. Using a Harman P35 stove.
I usually burn the premium Lignetics and they burn great. Do not buy this junk!

Northeast pellets
These are the worst pellets I have ever bought. These pellets are so dry they turn into a big pile of dust inside the hopper, have to clean the hopper out after every use. These pellets also have terrible heat from them. Will never buy the Northeast pellets again.

Overall definitely good value for the money. The Green Team pellets light easily and keep my all electric house comfortably warm. These pellets do create a lot of ash, I suggest cleaning your stove completely every 4 days during cold spells, especially the stove pipe, inside and outside!

Fireside Ultra Premium Grade Wood Pellet Fuel
Been burning pellets for several years now, and found the Fireside pellet to be the worst I have used to date. I purchased 18 ton for three Harman pellet stoves in the neighbor hood. All three homes reported that they would not purchase again due poor quality of pellet. Alot of the bags had a lot of dust and were soft and crumbling. I would recommend that Home Depot stop selling this pellet. Mine were purchased in 2019, but not sure how old or how long these pellets were in storage. Home Depot should require the supplier to identfy a born date on the bag, so that you know that you are purchasing a new product.

We purchased the pallet of pellets not knowing how much we would need. We just installed a pellet stove . All the rest were fine. We will see how much we use this winter, then we will know if we need to purchase so many next year. They burn well and have little ash. The company that installed the stove recommended these also.
