Great tools, but list of small negatives removes 1 star
I own MANY Ridgid tools, and this is the first time I have taken off a star in a review. Overall, these tools are a great addition to my collection, but there are a few small things that add up to make this set less than desirable. The positives are easy: Compact size, lots of power, Lifetime warranty, Ridgid reliability, etc. The negatives are these: (1) The compact size makes it hard for my big hands to run these without accidentally hitting the forward/reverse buttons. Not necessarily bad for everyone, but large hands beware. (2) The light on these is also much less useful than the larger versions because it is located at the base instead of the head of the tool which points to your work. You end up getting more shadows than light on your screw/bolt. (3) This set comes with a removable bit holder that screws onto the side of the tool instead of the back which makes it much more obtrusive when working in tight quarters. Number (4) and the biggest complaint I have, almost worth losing a star by itself, is how much lag there is in the triggers. All 3 of these subcompact tools are the same, otherwise I would have thought I got a defective tool. I equate the difference between these and my full size Ridgid tools to the difference between a gas pedal on an old, mechanical throttle vehicle and the new, computer controlled drive-by-wire vehicles. There is substantial delay between pressing the trigger and anything happening with the tool. I can ALMOST push the trigger all the way down and release it all the way before the tool reacts at all. I find my self constantly wondering why my tool hasn't started spinning for that split second right before it starts every time. The variable speed trigger works fine once it starts, but there is a weird laggy dead zone before the trigger reacts from the OFF position. Overall, I won't return these as they do have their advantages, but I wish they could have included some of the features of my regular Ridgid tools, especially replacing this weird-feeling trigger.

I love these tools. First of all they are very lightweight and powerful. Being that they are brushless is a plus when it comes to power and lifetime of the internal parts. Comes with 3 tools, bag, charger, and 2- 2ah batteries with lifetime warranty when registered through ridgid. All other 18v ridgid batteries will work on these tools. The drill has 2 speeds and a clutch that adjusts (23 positions) to your applications. The chuck on the drill really grips onto the bit that your attaching. 3/8 Impact wrench is very handy and powerful. With 225 ft lbs of torque your able to remove most lag bolts or nuts that are tight on your vehicle. I really like the 4 speeds on the impact wrench, 1-3 and Assist mode (A). The 1/4 impact driver is very light and small measuring about 4 inches in length (top of tool). The only downside on this tool is there isn't any speeds, Assist mode (A), and no bit holder. Another very small issue is that these tools are meant to be smaller to fit in tight spaces which they do but the 18v battery tends to limit its capabilities to enter in tight areas due to its big size.

I love this new drill set for all my DIY projects!
These are compact and powerful as well as versatile. If you have bigger Ah batteries from RIDGID they work very well with those also. Great price, excellent drills! I was able to remove and tighten the lug nuts on my truck with impact driver no problem! I did a review on the set on YouTube @ Mastering Mayhem if you want to see the set in action.

(What's this)
This is a terrific drill. The chuck takes 1/2 inch bits and the motor generates great toque so as cut through particle board there was never a hint of the motor straining. The rotation was smooth and displayed no sign of laboring. The size is small but the torque is huge. The batteries go in and remove easily both when going on and coming off. The compact size with the high torque make this drill a favorite.

These little guys are powerful!
I wasn't sure about the performance of these tools because of the extreme compact size and weight. The smaller proportions make them great tools to maneuver in tight spaces and you can't even notice it's attached to your tool belt. As for power, my expectations were surpassed after testing these tools! I drilled through 25 BCI joists with a 4" holesaw and it only used one bar of the battery. It did not struggle nor skip a beat. If you're looking for an upgrade, I would definitely go with these. All around a great tool!

Decent GEN 1 Sub Compact kit
I was a little hesitant to buy these, but I wanted a sub compact 18 volt set up and I am already heavy into Ridgid, though I do have Milwaukee M12 Fuel, Dewalt 12v Xtreme, and Ryobi 18 One +. I had the Makita LXT "Brush LESS" The drill has a higher pitch whine which made me smirk when I first heard it. It has plenty of power for what I wanted it for, which is mostly Deck Screws, and similar tasks. Drill Pros vs Makita LXT: Feels extremely similar in hand, similar power, Similar footprint, better Clutch ring clearance Drill Cons vs Makita LXT: Bigger battery footprint Drill Pros vs Milwaukee M12 Fuel: Way better grip, No stupid Electronic clutch system, feels much lighter Drill Cons vs Milwaukee M12 Fuel: Plastic Chuck (Con?), Similar power to M12 12volt Drill Pros vs Dewalt Xtreme 12 Volt: More power, Doesn't sound like a toy, Similar ergonomic feel Drill Cons vs Dewalt Xtreme 12 Volt: Way bigger base to accommodate battery Impact Pros vs Makita LXT: Similar power, Just as small, doesn't say Brush LESS on the back Impact Cons vs Makita LXT: No assist modes (this is 2020, right?) Bigger Battery Footprint Impact Pros vs Milwaukee M12 Fuel: Way more comfortable in hand, smaller tool head, Similar power Impact Cons vs Milwaukee M12 Fuel: No assist modes, Bigger base and battery, Similar power Impact Pros vs Dewalt Xtreme 12 volt: More power, but not by much, Similar Ergonomic feel Impact Cons vs Dewalt Xtreme 12 Volt: No assist mode, Dewalt 3 led light setup is much better, Bigger base and battery
