I bought this to replace an old Skil Jigsaw that finally broke. This jigsaw worked really well on the project I was working on. My old one had a cord so going battery powered was a nice upgrade. I also have a lot of other Ridgid 18v tools so it's nice that they all work with the same batteries.

Base
The base will not tighten and because of this it’s impossible to cut without beveling whatever your cutting.

Awesome jigsaw, adequate power to get the job done. Very smooth and is easy to make precise cuts with a jigsaw - well as precise as one can expect with a jigsaw.
