Rusty but long
I hate the rust! I’ve had it for less than a month and used it ~ 5 times. It has a tendency to trap toilet paper and the “stuff” you are trying to flush through the toilet in the wire bulb at the end. Do not recommend.

    Worked perfect!!! Just get it.
While emptying a bucket of water I’d used for cleaning the floor into the toilet I mistakenly had left a Scotch scouring pad in the bucket as it was obscured in the sudsy water. As soon as I saw it leave the bucket I reached for it but it was too late. It was already down the toilet and past the trap. Hoping against hope I tried a plunger. No luck as a quick flush of the toilet told me what I already suspected…that sucker was going to prevent normal use of the toilet. Time for me to up my game and get the proper tool. I read the reviews of the Rigid Toilet Auger (model K-6P) and decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I bought the 6 foot model as the scouring pad was well past the 3 foot mark and required the use of the extension cable. No problem doing this solo either as it’s pretty obvious what’s needed. Definitely worth the money and avoiding the embarrassment of having to call a plumber. Unless it’s something much larger or further down the pipe this should do the trick. Get it!

I'm a commercial plumber and I use this all the time to unstop toilets, even when I do side jobs for a stopped toilet this is usually the only tool I bring with me, I really don't need anything else when I use this. It's super easy to use and usually I'm in and out in less than 10 minutes. It's one of my favorite tools.

        NO MORE STUCK BAR SOAP!!
This product worked like a charm. There was a bar soap stuck in my the toilet. The plunger and warm water method was taking forever. This Rigid product did the trick. You can feel the soap giving way when I've pushed and turn the handle and then push some more. Being that I've purchased the 6ft Auger, I've pushed it as far as it will go so that I can completely free anything that may cause a blockage later. I will and have recommend this product. Becareful! Keep the rubber neck engaged down in the back of the toilet. The head of the auger will scratch your bowl..

When a 3' auger just won't work. We had a blockage that I thought was at our toilet. A 3 footer for $11 wouldn't work (too short), so we stepped up to this $50 unit. First thing I noticed was the increased weight. The unit is telescoping, solid construction, and this allows the unit to extend 6' feet into your system. After purchasing we learned the blockage wasn't in our toilet but in the line outside of the house heading towards our suburban street. We wouldn't have learned this if we didn't purchase this unit. It was a big help. Next, I pulled the washout caps and noticed it was under pressure. After running the unit 5' into the line, I found the blockage. Our home has 3 female occupants and we found 1/2 dozen feminine products blocking the line 5' into the plumbing. I was able to remove ALL of the blockage with this unit during the course of 30 minutes. It was dirty, it smelled terrible, I was covered in yuck, but our toilet flushes, we fixed the issue and this was the tool to do the job. Would I buy it again. Yup! To recap, this auger is $50 and took 30 minutes to complete the job. A local rooter company charges $175 to auger a toilet. Is that doesn't work and they need to do the work I did, it would have been an additional $250. The total would have been $425, for some they would have paid but for those of us that take pride in preparing stuff, I'm pumped on the result. Don't cut corners with a 3' auger, purchase this one, it should last a lifetime.

This surely beats the plunger! Sometimes when the going gets tough and the plunger just won’t cut it, this auger is a life saver – especially in a single bathroom household. This toiler auger is very cleverly designed. The inner 6-foot cable sits half on the inside and half on the outside. There is a clamp right below the handle to keep the cable secured while not in use. Three feet of the cable is ready on demand, while the other three feet can be easily extended by pressing a push pin and moving it to the extended position. I’d recommend watching the longer instructional video. It shows all the features of this toilet auger and how to use it both ways: included detachable handle (screws on) or a drill (no attachments are necessary). Once the handle comes off, a drill cab be secured onto the metal rod that’s attached to the inner cable. Overall, this toilet auger is very to use, safe on toilets and is well built.

Quality item from the Ridge Tool Company, known for supplying high-quality tools to the plumbing industry since 1923. Unit is very simple to operate - basically, just pay the cable down through your toilet drain and rotate the handle. Handle can be operated via the hand crank, or that can be very easily removed for attachment of a cordless drill, if so desired. I didn't have any clogs, but just in trying it out, I noticed that my toilets both drain noticeably quicker / with more power after doing so, so this might something that one would consider using on a periodic basis, just to help keep the line clean. Unit is well made, made in the USA, of components from the US and China. Should be a lifetime item for the average user.

Rigid Toilet Bowl Snake Auger This is quite a tool. It is way more robust than I expected and very heavy duty, so I imagine it will last for many years. We have been plagued with a slow working toilet at the back of the house for many years, so using this well-built tool seemed like an opportunity to fix things once and for all. It also all too frequently required more than one flush to completely evacuate its content. The flushing noise this particular commode made was also something out of the ordinary as well, because it sounded like a “dying banshee” in the middle of its evacuation cycles that none of the other toilets in the house shared (thank goodness). I had always imagined a tooth brush or something like that was trapped out of sight and reach somewhere down then in the immediate plumbing. So I went to work with this Rigid brand auger. And guess what, I don’t know what it lodged lose down there, but the toilet now functions much more reliably and more quietly as well.

This toilet auger is a great tool from Rigid. It is well designed, and easy to use. The elbow at the business end of it will protect your toilet from scratches and unsightly marks that a regular metal snake would leave. It is easy to deploy, just retract the snake by lifting the crank handle, insert it in the bowl, then feed the snake down as you crank. If more depth is needed, you can extend the snake by pressing the button just below the crank, this will give you another couple of feet to work with. You can also easily remove the crank handle and attach a drill for a power auger to clear those really tough clogs. Works great!

Thanks for taking the time to review the K-6P. The length of auger needed to clear a clog is relative to the plumbing and location of blockage. I'm sorry to hear you got stuck and if we can be of any further assistance, please contact Customer Service at 844-789-8665. Team Ridgid Ridgid

This is a tool used by professionals
This was easy to use and the directions were very clear. I opted to attach a cordless drill but you can easily use the included crank handle. I originally tried to use a liquid clog/drain cleaner to no avail. I got quotes of $300-$400 for a plumber to come snake my toilet. For $80 including tax and delivery and 5 minutes, I was able to do it myself and can help friends and family if they ever a clogged toilet.

              Worked Like a Champ!
This Auger saved a $250 visit from a plumber. Yes, it cost $70 but had the clog cleared in about 2 minutes after putting it in the toilet. I needed the 6ft length because my 3ft auger did not get the job done. It took me longer to get the thing out of the zip-tied package then it did to clear the clog. Really it works that fast! If you are handy enough to say to yourself "maybe I should try this" then don't hesitate to try because it's really that easy.

This product definitely got the job done. I had previously used a 3ft auger but it didn't help. This one does take a little getting used to when you bring out and retract the extra 3 feet of cable. Wear gloes and bring a bucket to set it in when you are finished.

Great tool, with the 6’ length, you can get well past the stool itself. I also like the fact you can chuck it up to a drill to better clear any clogs. There are two reasons I rated it good rather than excellent: First is that the end of the cleaning coil was cut in such a way that it left a razor-sharp burr on the end. This would have done serious damage to the porcelain had I not ground it off. The second reason is that when using a drill, with the cleaning coil fully extended, the coil separated itself from the extension tube, leaving it stuck in the drain - three times! It relies on a spring loaded ball bearing protruding through a hole in the extension tube, and apparently it just isn’t quite enough to prevent them separating. It should have some sort of clip to prevent the two pieces coming completely apart without some effort. Fortunately, in each case I was still able to reach the coil and extract it by hand. Had I not, it would have meant dismantling the toilet and removing it from the floor to recover the coil. Not great. Aside from those two gripes, it’s a great tool and I’m glad to have it.

                Works great, but
Very easy to use and effective. The only issue was retracting the snake fully into the casing, resulting in some scratching inside the toilet bowl. Watch a video on using this tool a few times to make sure you are fully aware of how to use it. I would definitely recommend it.

If only it worked like the video
The snap button mechanism does not work like it does in the video. When extending it works OK. When retrieving the line the snake does not work it's way back into the sheath. You have to manually do it. There's no other way to get the snap button to go into the upper hole. unless the line is FULLY in and you push the sheath down into the mechanism. Don't get me started about what you have to do if it gets stuck. The device works, but buyer beware. It's not as easy as the video suggests. Your gloves will get wet.
