Ran the vacum for years with a standard filter and no bags, decided to try out the hepa filter with disposable bags. Haven't seen dust blow out the outlet yet, like I have before. Makes me alittle more comfortable with little ones in the house. I will not be goin back to a standard filter, but in conjunction with the bags I dont imagine replacing the filter anytime soon...

The 5 layer HEPA filter is the only worthwhile filter. Other filters are less effective at controlling dust, but arre priced about the same.in the store. Why don't the stores just stock HEPAs? This filter would be more universally applicable if it served up to 5 GAl size wet dry vacuums, because 5 gal used to be a standard. This filter wold be more universally usable if the black rubber top was removable. For instance, the wonderful wet dry Vac I use (and refuse to replace) has it's own attachable rubber top. To use your filter, I have to gorilla tape it to the inside of the vacuum to ensure it's properly in place while vacuuming.

Seems to work as advertised. Easy to install. Keeps dust out of the air. I use my wet/dry to actually vacuum the pollen off my my screened in porch. The fine particles come through the screen and my porch can be as dusty and covered in pollen as if it had no screen at all. When vacuuming I see no flying particles from the machine. I also do a lot of wood working and use it as a vac for sawdust and I get the same results. I had rather pay a bit more and get a heavier filter to keep what I am vacuuming inside the machine. Well worth the extra money to keep things around my family more dust free.

We prefer to use a HEPA rated filter on our jobs, so we ordered these online. Wish it was available in the store, but it arrived within a few days. We use the Goretex filters in our larger Ridgid vacs, and I still like them better, but this is also washable like the Goretex.

I am really happy with this filter. I have three now. I pound out the major dust, follow up with either compressed air or water under pressure. Let it dry out and use. In case of drywall dust I might wash it twice before reusing. By having more than one, I can swap out mid job.

Level five hepa isn't what I needed. The store associate thought I'd only need level three and the vacuum I purchased with it was also not up to the task. Fine dust was exhasted out all over my house. I didn't research first and hoped the store employees would know what I needed. I was wrong.
