I am redoing my attic into a music studio for my drums and instruments as well as a play area for my kids. A number of things were important to me when deciding what to use for insulation. First the thermal performance, then I needed sound proofing because I was driving my wife crazy with my drumming, and lastly ease of install was important. I used a combination of 2 layers of ComfortBatt on all exterior walls and ceilings and 2 layers of Safe'n'Sound on all interior walls. If you're wondering how I fit two layers...you'll need at least a 2x6 stud for multiple layers (which I have) but a standard 2x4 stud works great for one layer. I was so impressed by how easy it was to install. For consumers looking for an easy do it yourself project, Roxul allows you to make quick work of it while being confident you're saving yourself money on utility bills and ensuring a quiet living space. It cuts like bread and fits snugly between studs 16" on center. We're planning on remodeling a few other rooms in our house and possibly doing a full addition above our 3 car garage. You can bet I will use Roxul again! I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend Roxul to anyone. Greatest insulation ever!

A superior insulation for my older home
I purchased an older home, and discovered during my electrical and plumbing replacement, that the exterior walls have not ever been insulated in it's 66 year history! I researched what available insulation products were available at my local home improvement center, and discovered Roxul. After installing the exterior walls with Roxul both upstairs and down in the basement, I decided to also try the Safe and Sound batts as well, which helped reduce the noise between the upstairs and lower "Mother In Law" basement apartment. Great product...it has all the qualities of moisture/wetness resistance, fire spread resistance, thermal R value for 2x4 construction, left little to no air gap...fits snugly between studs, and shapes easy around electrical and plumbing.

Two thumbs up!!!!!!!
I used this in my new garage addition and the loft above it for reasons of fire safety and added insulation with minimal thickness(better insulation rating over fiber glass per thickness). The fact you use a household bread knife to shape and size the material is great. I had everything insulated in no time and no itchy afterwards. This is a great product that I would recommend for any insulating project.

Roxul was a winner for our insulation goals inside and out !
I installed in the exterior walls for 2x4 studs and completed the install myself with no help in a 3500 sq. ft. home. I even delivered the ROXUL from the store myself. (took 3 trip with my truck). I used a bread knife to cut and I was impressed with installation simplicity; it was easier to perform a "proper" install when compared to other insulation batt products on the market. I showed my friends (other builders) and I know I converted two of them at least. Pretty darn satisfied knowing installed ROXUL. The house seems more sound proof as well so that's a plus! I added 2.0 inch board on exterior to address thermal bridging which increased my R value total with the interior walls.

Absolutely love this product. Recommend it to everyone.
I used Roxul for my basement bed room renovation. Loved this product. It is far superior than batt insulation. It is easy to install. My sons and I installed all of it in a day or so. We installed comfort batt on all the exterior basement walls and safe & sound on all the interior walls and ceilings. The sound deadening quality was exceptional. I plan on using Roxul for all my future renovation projects. I tell all of my friends and family who are renovating their homes about Roxul. The extra cost is well worth the better quality insulation.

Fit tight and snug and won't sag
Built an addition onto my garage for a heated shop, we used the Roxul to insulated the floor as we had concerns about moister maybe coming up from the ground. Even though we placed a metal pan between the insulation and the ground the moister resistance of the Roxul was great insurance.

Will be using this for the rest of the house
I recently took it upon myself to redo the basement in our new house. The previous consisted of drywall glued to foam board, glued to the wall. It was about as cold inside as it was outside. I spend a good month researching insulation and in the end it came down to spray foam or roxul comfort bat. I had already decided to go with roxul, but the wife suggested getting a quote for spray foam. It turned out to be over double the cost and lacked 90% of the qualities roxul had. Itsounds kind of cheesy not to list cons.. but it really doesn't. Sure it costs more than the pink stuff, but it's a 1000x the product. The basement still isn't done, but it's already warmer than upstairs, so it's safe to say the upstairs walls and attic will get the roxul treatment

Great insulation!
Used this to insulate exterior walls in a home I am renovating.
Rockwool is superior to fiberglass in every way possible, mold, fire, heat, sound, rodents and insects hate it, easier to cut, less harsh and itchy to work with, doesn't sag after time like fiberglass always does. Have pulled out too much moldy and sunk in stud bay fiberglass insulation to want to go back to the pink stuff ever again.
Tip: purchase a a cheap electric carving knife and that makes cutting the roxul even easier than sawing at it with a serrated breadknife.

No Longer Freezing in the Basement
I live in the basement. I was cold all the time and no matter how high I turned up the furnace my basement would not retain the heat. I installed additional heat registers but to no avail and the heating bills were getting absurd. I finally decided to rip out all the walls and reframe so I could insulate properly. My house is 118 years old with a cinderblock foundation. I decided on the Roxul Comfortbatt R22. The actual insulation installation was completed in a weekend. Roxul is so easy to use and since it can be cut with a bread knife the work goes swiftly. It is so dense that is stands up on its own without sagging making for a no muss no fuss install. I love that it is water resistant and does not promote mildew both being concerns in my older home. It also offers excellent sound control. I no longer hear the traffic over the bridge. My basement is now warm and retains heat. I can sleep comfortably and without traffic noise. The price is remarkable for what you get in return and it only increases the value of your home. I picked this up myself and there was always plenty of stock. I think the only downside was I could only fit 4 in my car at a time but they are light enough that I could manage on my own. I performed the entire renovation solo and the easiest part was the insulation. I would and have recommended this product to many people and installed it recently in my mothers home for the exterior wall under the stairs.

Keeping it cool!
I build my own walk in floral fridge for my business. When choosing insulation I went with Roxual hands down. The high end materials and quality of this product means I have one less thing to worry about, as I know that the Roxual insulation will not let me down (ie rotting due to the moisture) The fridge works just like the off the shelf walkin fridgeration systems (we even have early 1900's oak glass French doors and still stay between 2-4 degrees Celsius!), but for a fraction of the cost! Thank you Roxual!

Easiest to install and most cost-effective insulation
I used Roxul to insulate my Master Bathroom while renovating it. It was easy to install as long as the stud spacing was 16" OC. It was a little more difficult to work around some of the plumbing, especially the DWV pipes. I would definitely use it again. I have to; I over-ordered by 3 packages.

I am currently renovating a 100 year old house in Pittsburgh and we gutted it down to the studs. The common wall/party wall we combined safe n sound with a resilient channel and the difference is incredible. Everywhere else we went with comfortbatt.

Home Depot needs to get this back!!!
Sorry pink panther, you rock wool is garbage, this Roxul is far superior. but because you have some dumb deal, you get rid of a far superior product to take in flaky itchy garbage. You people have no idea what quality is. I can go on, but won't because i need to praise this product more. This is my go to product. my next insulation job will be this or Havelock Wool (look it up)
