This product does not do even close to its 50% rating. You can still hear everything. This is good for far away misc. noises.. but conversations, radio playing, tv, and other loud noises - forget about it.. it goes right through. I must have bought $3000 of this product to do (2) apartments.. in the walls, double layered in the floor and ceilings.. it did minimal sound protection from the neighbors next door. It’s a way overpriced product for about 30% of what it claims to do. If you want to soundproof a wall.. stagger the wood party studs, add resilient channels with a rubber backing, use quietrock 530 series ( yes.. the expensive one) laminate it with 5/8” Sheetrock with greenglue compound in between. This is a severely overpriced product!!

Works GREAT, totally keeps sound out, of course if you knock on the wall you're going to hear that. I used it in the bathroom to keep embarrassing "bathroom" sounds from escaping thru to a common area. It's easier to install than fiberglass because its stiffer and easier to cut and shape by using just a bread knife or maybe even a serrated steak knife. It is a lot more itchy than fiberglass so use long a sleeve shirt, gloves and also a mask as there are rock particles that come off of it while installing and cutting. I don't like how its described on the website, it should say that there are 12 bats of 3"x15 1/4 x 47" or a total of 564" or 47 feet of length. It seems really expensive when you just say that its 3x15 1/4 x 47" for around $50 (seems like its for only one piece) which almost deterred my from purchasing it.

      Great Purchase and Easy Install!
Wow! I purchased 30 bags of the ROCKWOOL Safe 'n' Sound and was able to install it all by myself. I calculated that many bags on Rockwool's bag calculator on their website! Very accurate.. This product was very easy to install. Cutting around outlets, wires, and pipes was like cutting bread. Before the drywall went up, I could already tell a difference. I put the Safe 'n' Sound around all my laundry room, bathrooms, bedrooms, and in the basement ceiling. Not only does it provide sound proofing, it has other benefits as well. Such as fire resistant and no mildew can grow on it. I am so glad my builder let me install this product on my own. Would I recommend this product? Yes, 100%.

Exactly the product we wanted and needed!
We are renovating a 110-year-old stone carriage house. Rockwool has been our salvation for many reasons: exceptional thermal efficiency, super sound blocking, and mice hate it! Easy to install. We wrapped our new enameled steel tub with Rockwool for added insulation; my love of hot baths appreciates the extra 30 minutes I can spend reading in my tub before bed! And best of all, it has a low carbon footprint. Everything to gain when we opted for Rockwool instead of the irritating pink fluff.

Having to build the wall and adding the roxul plus, sheetrock wasn't worth the cost, labor or the slight reduction in sound. I never knew people could use so many cuss words at their children. Really disturbing!

Works amazing for muffling sounds. With big loud dogs now there's no vibration and it blocks pretty much every possible sound. Because it is a remodel, the rockwall is sitting on top of the ceiling of the basement, instead of staying in between the joists, but it works just as well. Wish I used it on all walls I ever worked on. Would highly recommend it around bathrooms or in between bedrooms.

I needed to create a sound barrier between the furnace room and a bedroom that was being added in the basement. I was going to use regular insulation, but a friend told me about this product. I did not need any R value, just sound proofing. The product went in easy and works really well. I did an entire wall in about 1 hour. A big plus, was no itchy fiberglass!

          This product saved our house!
We installed this in our basement ceiling 3 years ago. Our gas fireplace in the basement cought fire this weekend and the smoke and flames destroyed alot of it. The fire was so hot it had melted light fixtures and the fan off of the ceiling! We had double lined the ceiling with roxul when finishing the basement as our master bedroom is right over the gas fireplace and down stairs living room and we wanted maximum protection! Well unfortunately it was put to the test but it did exactly as it should! We had zero, that's right ZERO damage to the upstairs of our house above the fire! I can't say enough good things about this product! It saved our house and all who were in it! Thank you and I will never use any other insulation product in my home!

Amazing Insulation for Home and Studio too
The first time I tried Roxul (now Rock Wool) was a few years ago to make some sound absorbing panels for my recording studio at home. They turned out better than professional panels at a fraction of the cost. The stone wool was easy to cut with a kitchen knife, and still holds it's shape perfectly after 5 years now. I liked it so much, I asked a contractor to use RockWool last spring when I was getting some work done in my home to help with insulating and sound proofing the walls and ceiling. I will soon be insulating my outdoor garage and I'm looking forward to using ComfortBatt for that project this summer. I probably sound like a commercial, but it does a terrific job and is worth every penny. I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

We use Comfort Batts on additions all the time and now make sound transfer reduction part of our proposal on all basement finishes with Safe n Sound. Excellent workability and performance.

Second time using the safe n sound. First time was for cabin walls. The sound dampening for voice, music, etc between walls is pretty amazing. It doesn't completely cancel it out but it's really nice. I have then just put in the basement ceiling joists and all around my workshop in the basement. Again the noise transmission is severely reduced. Now if you want to really cancel out the foot step noise you'll want to add a resilient channel in unison with the roxul. That would greatly cut it down further. I have found that the feet noise still comes through but the voices, tv, music is all greatly reduced. I would use it again for sure. Super simple to work with.

                    Proven performance.
Used safe'n'sound in my latest bathroom renovation in the walls between the bathroom and bedroom. Also used it in an enclosure around the water pump at the cottage. Huge difference before having the safe'n'sound vs after it was installed!

Muffle the noise from the other room
I am a convert. My builder buddy told me about this product 6 years ago. I haven't used fiberglass since. Because it supports its weight, the work needed to secure it is drastically reduced. I've even installed it horizontally without sag. This stuff is amazing.

Easy to install as a DYIer because of its firm consistency. Fits snugly between joists and studs. Will only know how effective it is after the house is done but so far I’ Impressed.

Best thing in the world! I have a master suite (with a private entrance) that I rent out thru Airbnb. Although there is a wall between the suite and the main house, the noise back-and-forth between the suite and the main house was very audible with standard insulation and I could hear parts of conversations and the t.v. My handyman removed the standard insulation inside the wall and installed the Roxul. The product was easy to work with and installation was a breeze. OMG - this resulted in true soundproofing - I can't hear voices, and even when the music and or tv are blasted so loud in the suite to hurt my ears, it's silent on my side. Amazing stuff!

                              Quiet Never Felt So Good
I built a bedroom next to my sons gaming room and a bedroom loft above it. I insulated all the walls in a day. Roxul is so easy to use and it cuts like butter using a serrated knife allowing me to quickly cut odd sized pieces in seconds. It is a breeze to install. My house is 135 years old and was drafty. Not only did the Roxul Safe 'n' Sound block the noise it also warmed up the rooms tenfold. The loft is no longer chilly and drafty and the 3rd bedroom is so well insulated you cannot even talk between rooms anymore. You must go into the hall to speak to anyone. It has made the 3rd bedroom so warm that I had to shut the vent off. I sleep soundly and my son can game without worrying about the noise.

                                Peace & Quiet
During construction of a new home, we installed Safe N Sound in the stud bays of the floor and walls of an upstairs master bedroom. The Safe N Sound cuts easily with a standard bread knife and is not messy or itchy like fiberglass. The batts are made of a springy material that simply pushes into place between the studs and stays there without any fasteners. The results were immediately evident, as the sounds from all surrounding rooms were muffled when inside the master bedroom. This is exactly what was needed in a house with a big family with noisy kids and common area/den occupying the lower floor. Great product!

Neighbour's old air-conditioner was causing insane noise throughout our place. I had to figure out a way to reduce the insane noise. I am only 50% done and the noise and vibration is reduced drastically.

I purchased 15 bags of this to put in the ceiling of my basement. It was apparent after the first bag that this stuff really dampens the sound. I've done two rooms and even with bare stud walls you can really tell the difference when you step in them. This stuff can be a bit difficult to install when HVAC ducting is present between the joists as it isn't as flexible as fiberglass but it is still well worth it.

Compared to other products, this is by far the most reasonably priced. But don't let the price fool you, it does a great job at capture sound frequencies.
