The RSVP Culinary Torch is a nifty gaget. I love the compact size that doesn't take away limited kitchen space. Filling it with the readily available butane was no problem. The unit comes with a pictured description of the torch parts and good instructions which makes the operation easy. The torch has an adjustable fuel volume control and an adjustable air intake port to control flame length and temperature. The trigger presses down easily and the continuous flame switch lets you take your finger off the trigger and concentrate on the caramelization process. Less is more, to avoid burning the sugar. Also make sure you use both hands when turning on the coninuous flame switch, and familiarize yourself with how to release the child safety latch before using the torch. An awesome product.

Culinary Torch also need to buy butane to fill torch. it took quite a while 4 or 5 minutes for me to fill it it never did do the over spray to tell me it was full so I don't know if it got filled all the way. to light is you have to push down the safety button and press the lighter button on top and keep it pressed till you press the button on the side so it will keep going. To turn it off you have to press the lighter button again.I have used it several times and I am going to need a lot of practice. figuring how close I can get it and how fast to move it. I have burned quite a few marshmallows practicing.

It is a nice torch, but I don't like the child safety lock. I keep my finger nails short, so sometimes it is hard to pull the tab down. I would remove it if it is possible to do so without damaging the torch.

This torch is perfect for our needs and MUCH less than the industry standard.

Item does not come with the ramekins pictured. They advertise it in such a way that it would appear they come together. I rechecked the listing and there is no text sayint the ramekins pictures arent included

A torch isn't something you use everyday in cooking, but when you need one you need a very special one. And no, the one you have in your garage that you use for your plumbing projects is not an option! They make the food taste nasty. This torch is fueled with butane that you can get in pipe tobacco case at your local grocery store. It was super easy to fill this torch and only took about 5 seconds to charge it fully. The only thing standing in your way after it is fueled is that little safety latch next to the start button. Once started it is easy to keep it going and easy to hold securely with the textured grip. There are adjustments for amount of fuel and for the air/fuel ratio. Best of all it is very small, so it won't take up a lot of room in your already full kitchen. I have the torch and the butane refill in a little 2x4x6 basket on the top shelf of the narrow cupboard next to my stove and never think of it until the next meringue or brulee needs browning, or I need to light a roman candle :-)

The culinary torch is great to have around if you like to crisp up cheese like mozzeralla or for desserts like creme brule. Personally I use it for cheese on pizza that have finished cooking on the bottom but have spots I would prefer have more crispy cheese. This torch is nice, it is a good size. I knocked a point because of the child safety latch, its a bit flimsy and difficult to use. The 'throttle' is also in a difficult location on the other side of the top from the 'constant' button. this means if you are right handed you will have difficulty adjusting the amount of flame. All in all it does a great job and is well built, easy to load and easy to light (most important!).

Simple butane torch. It works just as described. It comes empty without any butane so you have to buy your own. Once filled it works like most butane torch. There is a slider for how big the flame you want it to be. There is a child resistant locking latch to stop kids from starting fires. You have to hold down the safety latch and hold the trigger for it to light up.
