To This point my RYOBI snow thrower has worked to my expectations. After reading the reviews I have used it carefully and have had no problems. My battery lasts plenty long enough for my applications. So far we have only had heavy wet snow to blow. But works fine. Should be a breeze with light weight snow.

There has not yet been any snow so I have not yet used it except to see that it works.

Not happy with my purchase

Once you get the hang of it's only weakness. It is a terrific addition for most people's driveways and sidewalks. It's only weakness is the lack of throw angle. It's just straight ahead.

Works well on recent snow. Wish it had fins to redirect the discharge. Handle won’t get tight enough to stay in place. Battery can cut out from rigorous use. Good enough for my deck though, which is why I purchased it.

Nice cut shoveling behind down good. Worked good on 3" snow.

Does the job. Throws smaller amounts of snow a decent distance. Wish the shaft was shorter. I'm 6 ft and a lot of the time the battery is resting on my shoulder. Also, the shaft rotates at the top of the tool, still need to look into that, see if it can be fixed.

Throws snow farther than expected, whole assembly is very heavy (Ryobi 40v, 18# total). Not working well on deep, heavy snow.

Does not clear snow well at all

There are no tracks or wheels on the bottom of the machine so it just scrapes along the tar shortening the overall life of the exterior housing

Bought online after the 2022 blizzard in northern NY. Arrived 3 days later & by then, temps went up to 50F, & all the fluffy snow melted down toa packed ice consistancy. Tried it out & was pleasantly surprised. With the 40 volt powered, this little beast was tossing wet, packed snow 8-10 ft with no effort or significant draw down on the motor. Did not expect that!! An excellent addition to my 40v system. Ryobi delivers what it claims, and then some!

Used it in 2” and 6+” of snow and did well. It is heavier than I anticipated but manageable. The handle that comes with it doesn’t tighten enough to stay in place. I wrapped the clamp with some electrical tape and it now stays in place.

This snow isn't really a fair first test of the Ryobi snow thrower, but it's what I have right now. We got about 13 inches in Denver last night. While that is deeper than the tool is rated, I tried it anyway and I was surprised it never bogged down. My driveway is 13 feet wide and 75 feet long, it took about an hour to clear most of it, and I used 1 and a half 4ah batteries. The snow was deeper than the tool, so it ended up plowing under the top layer. I had to use a back-and-forth motion similar to vacuuming to get through it. It throws the snow about 10 or 15 feet and gets pretty close to the surface. The direction of throw seemed to change depending on how deep the snow was. This caused quite a bit of snow being thrown places I didn't intend, like where I had just cleared. I think this would be more predictable with less snow to deal with. The tool became a lot heavier than I expected as the time wore on. Perhaps forcing it through so much snow added to the fatigue I felt. I did experience the handle slippage described by others. I believe the offset design is causing this. As you pick the tool up by the handle, the uneven weight distribution pulls the handle. A centered design would fix this. Overall, I think it was worth the purchase. I'm looking forward to a lighter snowfall to better test it as designed.

Wanted something that I could clear the deck of snow with. Metal shovel was scratching the wood. This worked even better than I expected. I just had to get used to it only throwing the snow forward. I now have a clearing pattern that works great. It throws the snow pretty far so I'm not throwing the same snow again and again. Not for large jobs but for small areas it does the job.

It's a little heavy, but if the snow is wet it's much better than shoveling the conventional way. Aiming can be a pain, I generally do 3-5ft deep passes along the length of the area I'm working before moving forward and repeating. For the price, it's a good buy but one of the smaller 40V snowblowers (20-23in iirc) would go a better job if you can afford the upgrade.

Very nice thrower. I leave it on and do a swinging motion. Battery last very nicely. I noticed it doesn’t like hard ice mixed in with snow but what does.

Much more power than I expected for MN snowfalls!

Stopped working 3rd use. When it worked it was great

It works as advertised. Great for smaller jobs when you don’t need to pull out the bigger blower. Battery life is good. My only complaint is the unit is fairly heavy and when using, the attachment joint feels a bit weak. However, no issues so far.

I have had this snow thrower expand it attachment for 3 winters in the Pacific Northwest where we don't get too much snow. For light weight snow (not wet) and minimal depth (less than 5-6"), it works reasonably decent. However, anything deeper requires you hold it up off the ground to clear the snow in multiple passes which gets very heavy. the attachment arm is not centered in the snow thrower and this leads to a LOT of twisting of the snow thrower with regards to the controls. Can't recommend

Ive got a small driveway so I thought this would be a nice alternative to having a blower that I’d use for all of 5 mins. This offset on this attachment makes it feel as though it always wants to spin in your hand. It certainly clears snow but it leaves a 1/4” on the ground still. The blades are plastic without a wiper so you cant have it make contact anyways. I guess I expected a mini snowblower. 3 stars since it moves snow but not effectively.
