Sands great, vacuum port “sucks"
Ryobi seemed to update this sander and remove the vacuum port. You get to pay about $13-$15 for a really small cheap piece of plastic that should have come with the tool. The part is pretty small so you’ll need another adapter to attach it to your vac and it also didn’t even suction well. I have a bunch of other Ryobi products, including an orbital sander, that suction much better. This left dust all over the work piece. The money is not going to break the bank. Just feels like a bad move to not include it and for it to work so badly. The sander itself works great, just leaves a lot of dust behind.
I have slowly been trying to add a Ryobi tool whenever I get a chance. This sander was the last one I picked up and it definitely gets the job done. The design, the quality and performance is is very good. I haven’t had a problem with it. I can’t wait to use it again.
The last time I used it I finally put pickets on my moms front doorstep deck area. She even helped out sanding.

I actually liked the quality of the sander was nice to use and didn’t leave swirls on the small kitchen cabinet frame I was working on and it kept a good finish but with a new 1.5 amp hour battery I had to charge 3x to finish a very small project. Perhaps with a 4 or 6 amp hour battery it would have been more workable but I wasn’t willing to invest in them. Exchanged it for a corded model instead.

Bought a couple months ago to sand a table top we were remaking for an island. It was my wife’s idea to purchase it and it worked great. Had a couple 4amp batteries to use with it and within a 1/2 hour or so we were ready for finish.
I have had this power tool for a week now and so far im really happy about it. You attatch the dust bag and sand paper and then all you have to do is connect your battery and your good to go. i have had no issues so far but i would recommend this product. when you start sanding the wood you get very little to no wood dust on your floors keeps your work space clean to work on. i attached some DIY projects i have done.
I need a small table for my laptop and stereo in a apartment i rent when working out of town. Thats where this sander comes in. I bought some butcher block top and used some scrP 2x4s i had left over from other projects. This sandet is amazing it powered through the rough spots and took care of the light sanding with ease.
I bought this tool because I decided to get into a new hobby, wood working. My wife said she wanted a floating desk, so she'd get out of her chair and actually do her work. She's a teacher, and only had her chair or the dining room table to grade papers and do her lesson plans. She thought it would help her if she had a place to do her work. I looked up plans and figured a sander would be needed. It's the perfect one for me! I've always used Craftsman tools, and I love them. However, I've been getting a bunch of Ryobi tools as well. There's been no drop off in performance, and this sander was rated higher. It was a no brainier for me. I've used this tool on a desk, shelf and a few other little things around the house and couldn't be happier.
