Pleasantly surprised
I bought this to replace a poulan pro gas chainsaw, so glad I did. I cut up a large black walnut tree that had fallen , 18” diameter, and trimmed several Osage orange trees which are notoriously hard wood trees . Amazing power and better than expected run time . I’m very happy with this purchase

Tool doesn't work after first cut
I am in general a big fan of rtobi tools, but with this chain saw i had worst experience. It had cut the first cut very well from the second cut tool became blunt and smoking. I have made sure that lubricant is full and it's lubricating. I guess it's defective blade. Looking at few more reviews this month from homedepot defective chain seems to be more prominent. Better quality control will help before we loose faith in ryobi. I am planning to give it another try and heading to homedepot to exchange. Hope this works.

Ryobi made a believer out of me...
I have a large, rolling front yard, which is mostly grass. I take keeping my yard neat very seriously...I have to, as I have one of those HOA's that takes it seriously for me. I have a gas powered California Trimmer reel type mower that I have used for almost 2 decades to cut my grass. I had serious doubts about Ryobi's claims of "gas like power", but in buying and using their 40v weed trimmer, I was encouraged enough to try their 20" self propelled electric mower. I was blown away. As I said...I have a large front yard. I also have a moderate river willow infestation in my yard (a super plant that grows a thick stock very quickly) and the Ryobi powers thru them like it does the grass. It takes two 4ah 40v batteries to complete the lawn (well...1.5) so I believe the new 6ah battery would do the whole yard. But what sells me even more on this machine is how fast it is. I pull it out, install the battery and start cutting. The grass catcher is effective and unlike most mid-range rotary mowers, it does not clog up. Even when the grass is slightly damp. If I had a complaint, Ryobi seems to have already addressed it: I bought one of the earlier units. You must extend the handle all way out in order to use the mower. When you do this, my mower has a thin wire harness that gets stretched and could break of you're not careful. I looked at the new units at Home Depot and noticed that they all have a much thicker harness and it is routed so as to make straining the harness less probable. I clamped my handle with a hose clamp to keep it from over extending. It was a minor fix and im really happy with my mower. I now own several Ryobi 40v units and they really do have "gas like power".

Best money ever spent! Put my electric chainsaw to shame. I went through a 18" diameter trunk three times in less than seven minutes. It's always nice to buy something that exceeds your expectations.

        Great little machine
I recently had to replace my 42cc 18in chainsaw, while not as powerful, it is so much simpler and easier to use. No gas to mix, light weight and enough power to take out and cut up a dozen 6in wide 20ft trees

To be honest I bought this because I wanted the battery and the charger to replace another that went bad. Decided since those are 200 dollars and this leaf blower included all together for 125 dollars, it would just be an added bonus to the lower cost. The blower works well though. Battery lasted all of 5 minutes when using the turbo though. Still managed to blow all of the tree debris off my roof in that 5 minutes though.

After mowing a larger yard, I am now impressed
I originally reviewed this unit a couple weeks back and unfortunately, I was not impressed. If there was a way for me to edit that review I would. With that said, it has rained on and off for several days in the Midwest which caused a small forest in my grandmothers yard. I took the mower over to mow her thick grass. To my surprise, this mower knocked it out without much of a problem. There were a couple really high spots that it had some trouble getting through but it made it. The battery lasted throughout the cut. A couple things that made me want to edit the review: 1.Folding the lawn mower up and placing it in my trunk was quick and easy. Pull out the sides and fold down. I’m not sure if it gets quicker than that 2. The ability to quickly adjust the height when met with taller grass. It really is a one step process to lift/lower the deck. One handle for an even cut. 3. Battery lasted longer than I thought through thick grass. 4. Even though I didn’t need it, the extra battery storage was handy. There is a slot for a back up battery. What I still don’t like about this mower is the smart trek. I can say that I’m getting use to it and it is a lot better than I originally thought. Also, you have to make sure the discharge block is seated properly. If not or if you hit a bump just right, it will stop the mower.

So far, so good! I bought this Ryobi cordless to supplement a more powerful corded blower and for added mobility in small places. There is a trigger that provides variable power to the blower. This is a convenient feature, but sometimes it's a pain to keep it at a steady wind speed because of the sensitive triggering mechanism. In contrast, my corded blower has a dial that regulates the power and it results in a "steady" stream of wind. Aside from this minor issue, the Ryobi is powered with a 40V lithium battery that has up to 30 minutes of cordless operation at reasonable power output. However, the life will be shortened if you're going to use Turbo or maximum blower speed for your tasks. I do have one issue that bothers me and I should have known better by considering other people's reviews about the blower attachment. The attachment is installed by pushing it in to the blower and twisting it to lock it in place. Well, even when securing it snug in place, the blower attachment still comes off while it's working. Ryobi needs to make a mod on this attachment in order to make this blower qualify as a 4.5 star blower. Lastly, the unit is a bit heavy due to the large 40V battery. Could you go with a smaller 20V battery with other less expensive blowers? You can but it depends on how much power you prefer to complete your work. Overall, I am happy with this blower for its power (110 MPH) and the mobility it provides. I buy a lot of Ryobi stuff so my evaluation could be a tiny bit biased, but not that much.

Strong and convenient. No longer need the extension cord
The blower is strong. Everything is good enough. Convenient to carry it around the yard for the cleaning job without need to worry about collect the cord after use. I wish to have more adapters for the wind outlet, though. The box is good also to make into a bulla train for kids.

              Holy smokes... errr... volts
I was skeptical this was going to hold up longer than a few minutes without gas power. Figured the battery would be drained after a few big limbs. Nope. I sheared huge limbs from the bottom 8 feet of 20+ cedar trees and it still had half a battery left. Took me two more hours just to drag them all into a pile, that's how many there were. Torque was incredible, even from a standstill within a limb. The couple of times I got the blade caught due to the weight of the limb shifting, the torque of the chain tore itself free no problem. Even better, it's light enough that in the rare case of an overhead limb that was just out of reach, I could hold it in one hand for a stretch. Wouldn't recommend doing that often due to safety reasons but I was glad it was light enough to do that every once in a while. Did I mention it is quiet? It's quiet. May be my second favorite new toy after the cordless blower that I also got from Ryobi. These are incredible tools, makes it really easy to want to get out and get things done and ditch the cumbersome gasoline engines and long extension cords. Will probably buy most of the tools Ryobi offers in this lineup, they are incredible well engineered and convenient.

2 Batteries (Read this before you buy)
After my gas mower died I got this few days ago We had 3 nonstop raining days here in Michigan And the grass was wet! I couldn't believe this cordless mower did the job, It was very tall weedy grass too Until the battery killed my excitement just needed 5 more minutes of running time I think Ryobi should either sell it with the 7.5 ah or 2 batteries my yard is around 1/4 acre I tried to recharge the battery immediately after it stopped but you need to cool it down before it charges other than the battery it is a great mower. I wish it came with another battery which will make my experience complete

                  Powerful and good price
I pressure-washed my driveway and I need an easier way to remove all the moss and debris than sweeping. This blower did a great job of moving most of the debris and it was very easy to handle. It had rained after I pressure washed, so the blower was not able to move the big clumps of wet moss on the regular setting but it did work with turbo setting. The only things I would like better, as other reviewers have mentioned, that the battery does make it fairly heavy to hold for long periods of time, although it is balanced well. And having a an extension to the hose so that it could be closer to the ground would be nice. But other than that I'm pretty happy with this blower for a great price!

                    cuts like knife in butter
A tree fell in back of house. I decide to cut up myself so I bought this a couple of weeks ago. Cutting-the-cord with battery power and not having to deal with gas were among the specifications I wanted. Is powerful, light and comfortable to hold.

I really like this hedge trimmer I was skeptical first, but I really like it trims very good just like a gas trimmer but is not that hard to start, is always ready. Batttery last almost 2 hours and it charges fast. The only thing I don't like is the security feature must use both hands and I not able to reach higher shrubs.

Bought this to add to my other battery Ryobi products. I mainly need one to cut up large tree limbs that had fell after a storm. It had no problem cutting through 12 to 14 in diameter trunks. Satisfied.

                          Amazing Lawn Mower
I purchased my 1st battery powered mower after using gas for years and to my surprise was blown away by the operation/results. I purchased two battiers to be on the safe side but was able to finish my lawn in 45 minutes with one battery. No more gas, no more breaking my arm with pulling the string to start (the push button on this was perfect and quick). This is the Tesla of Lawn Mowers; my neighbor even commented on how quite this mower is. Don't hesitate.... purchase this if you are in the market for a new mower

I found this on sale a few weeks ago at my local store in Louisiana for 279. I could only find the yellow one for that price and was in the market so I went with it. The only negative is the smart trek. I think they will eventually find a better way or do away with the idea. If i could have got the regular self propelled for same price I would have went that route. The way it folds up is awesome.

                              Low battery life
I will start by saing that it has decent power. I loved the weight, the low noise, and non-fatiguing operation. However, I felt the battery life was low to the point that attempting to accomplish odd jobs around my home- relatively light work- was frustrating. (I really don't think it was over 10-15 minutes operating time on a full battery.). I also ran into a few types of wood it just wouldn't cut through. Additionally, I had the chain pop on me several times in under 1 hour of use. (even after tightening). Ultimately, I would possibly consider keeping it if the battery life were better. I did find it easy to use for basic tasks and softer woods.

                                My First Ryobi
I have a lot of hedges, and I have always used electric hedge trimmers. I was under the impression that electric tools are more powerful than battery operated models, and people have told me how much heavier battery operated products are. I was so tired of dreading the job - dragging out the extension cord, tripping over it, accidentally cutting it. I enjoy yard work and I wanted to enjoy hedge trimming, too. After much debate and reading the reviews, I took a chance on these. They were ready to use out of the box; there was no assembly required other than inserting the battery. The power left me STUNNED. This is far more powerful than my electric hedge trimmer. The ease of use cut the time of the task in half. I actually feel safer using these, too. I am so sorry that I did not buy the Ryobi 24 in. 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Battery Hedge Trimmer sooner.

This saw is fantastic. It cuts as quickly as a professional gas saw that local gardeners use. I would have never guessed that it would cut so fast. The photo is of the tree trunk it cut through, along with several cuts of the trunk and a few of the branches all on one charge. I strongly recommend that a second battery is purchased. I bought an extra 4 amp hour one and it proved to be sufficient.

                                  The Beast
I originally bought the 18v chainsaw, but after the first use, I decided that it wasn't going to meet my needs (cutting down a couple 10" pine trees and cutting up firewood). The RPM level was absolutely terrible. So I went back to return the 18v ($99) and upgraded to the 40v ($199). Yes, it is twice the price, but you get a battery and charger with it, whereas the 18v did not. I am beyond satisfied with this work horse. One battery charge lasted me through cutting down a good 50' tall, 10" (base) tree. My wife and I now fight over using it. It's so much fun! Just get it!
