Long story short, just buy it you won't regret it. We don't have many trees, just one large one over our driveway and two palms in the backyard. We bought it mainly due to the palms. It cut through 5-7 inch palms with ease and the tree in the front trimmed up easily. I'm just over 6'1" and I didn't have to use the middle extension piece, but as the trees grow it will be nice to have. We purchased the model with the battery as well as the charger just to have extras at the house. (We have multiple Ryobi drills, saws, blowers, trimmers, etc and can't have too many.) It does go through bar oil, but that's no biggie. Just follow what the manual says and check it every 15 to 20 minutes and you won't have a problem. I used the small battery that came with it and ran the saw for about 40 minutes and it never slowed down. I'd imagine it would prob go an hour and a half constant use before changing batteries or having to recharge it. If I could give it 10/5 stars I would have.

    Great saw!
I am impressed with this saw, it is easy to use, and packs quite a punch! I used it to clean up a broken 12” branch on a large oak tree. It quickly cut without too many issues, had to cut the larger parts from both sides, but the saw is light and easy to handle. My only issue is that the mechanism that tightens the chain slips a little, but it isn’t to much of an issue as it is easy to correct.

I already have one and it has taken a beating over the years pruning limbs that are to close to the ground for fire safety. It had been out of stock for a long time. I told myself that if it ever came back in stock, I would get another and to beat that, it was on sale. It is lighter than other brands pole chain saws and the angled blade makes it easier to prop on the limb before you pull the trigger to cut it off. This is some of the work that it can do.

I bought this to use with my Resmed S9 CPAP machine when our electricity goes out. Using a Lithium+ 6.0Ah Ryobi battery, with the machine set on 18 cm and the humidifier turned off, I expect about 4-4.5 hours runtime on that one battery. I tested it the other day while napping, and I got close to 2.5 hours sleep and still had two bars on the battery. Overall, this is a handy little tool and I highly recommend it. Just be aware that not all CPAP machines will operate on this inverter (mainly older models), so check with your CPAP's manufacturer for more information.

A useful gadget. The feature that stands out the most is that it literally sits on top of the 18 volt battery. It is not bulky or wirey and it has a finger grip to quickly grab it. Also it has an LED light. There not much to dislike about this item. It does the job and quite well at it, but, if I have to find something to dislike it would be that it gets pretty hot. Heat to me means energy wasted. Also there's a power button, I'm not sure why that's needed. I've had this for over 2 months now and it's been very useful. From charging my phones to powering a small laptop I've been able to keep things running even in areas where there are no power for a few hours. I was looking for an off grid type of usb power charger type device and had to look no further because I found it on this little device and best of all it's works with all my Ryboi 18V One plus batteries.

Frequent stops to unclog chain. Does the job but it is heavy. Would be nice to have option for a 2 to 4 foot pole to use for lower branches but perhaps there is another tool for this.

This is an amazing product: I've used it to trim oak, pepper, and eucalyptus trees. It is light weight, the battery and the oil level seem to run out at the same time, and it can be used with one of the pole extensions out making it easy to handle when trimming lower branches. I've loaned it to two people who both bought their own after using it.

It's is nice to power low voltage devices. Wish it had enough to heat water for coffee, but sadly no.. it does provide unlimited power with batteries for a fan, lamp, computer and can charge multiple phones at once. It's nice to be able to charge items at meetings without the dangers of tripping over cords. It's lightweight, the batteries used pack the weight. The light is quite bright and convenient for an emergency.

This pole saw works well and was a big help clearing my yard after a heavy spring snow here in Colorado Springs. I have no complaints specifically about the saw itself. However, part of choosing this saw was that it has (supposedly) the P118 dual chemistry battery charger. When I opened the box, the charger included was the P118b charger. Much less robust and NOT dual chemistry. As that was a major part of my decision, I have an older One Plus drill with NiCd batteries that I'd hoped to use it with. The pictures on the website show the P118, not the P118b and I am extremely disappointed not to get what I thought I was paying for

Obviously the bigger the battery paired with it the longer it'll last. For camping purposes it's been excellent. I've been able to recharge my Samsung Galaxy S8+, use an electric can opener, and inflate my air mattress with built-in pump. Extension cords have become less needed as I can bring the power to my devices.

            best luck on buying this
I will start off saying I love Ryobi tools. I was originally going to buy the electric version and accidentally grabbed the battery operated one. Best luck ever!! this tool cut through the mulberry branches like a hot knife through butter. I was able to remove the middle bar so I could cut the branches lower on the tree comfortably. This tool made the chore fun and an enjoyment. battery had plenty of power never felt it drag or loose momentum. I love that it breaks down for easy transport and store.

When I am out working for the day, it is so nice not to have to worry about my phone running down, plus living in an area that power losses is a not so uncommon thing, having a power converter to get us through those trying times is a real blessing. I have tons of batteries for my many Ryobi One Plus tools so at any given time I have at least 5 or 6 good batteries charged up, with this system that should keep my phones running and give me light for a very long time.

              Good for emergencies
I just picked it up a couple of days ago but it worked on my led basement light and quickly charged my phone when I plugged it into the 120v. I think this would be great for campers who want to charge their electronics. Great deal when you buy the starter battery pack and get the inverter for free.

It has run my Philips Respironics CPAP (with humidifier set to 3) for 6 hours and is still going. This item seems a bit overpriced (the only reason i backed off a star), but it does what I needed it to do.

The Ryobi 150-Watt Powered Inverter Generator for 18-Volt Battery is a great little unit for camping, hiking, keeping in the car, tailgating, or any outdoor activities! Output is rated at 150 watts and features 2 5v usb DC outlets and 1 standard 120v AC outlet. The USB outlets pull 2.4 amps and the standard outlet pulls 1.25 amps. It runs off of the Ryobi 18v One + Batteries and can recharge or power multiple items off of 1 battery. It is ideal for cellphones and tablets, but can also be used for laptops, fans, lights. It is not recommended for items that require high voltage - no appliances or power tools. Label states that it can charge a high-end cell phone 2.1 times, however that depends on how much charge you have in your One + battery. I haven't tested on a fully-drained cell phone, but it charges from around 25% about 3 times. The unit features a colored LED that is convenient for determining the charge on your One + battery. It also features a LED flashlight, which is convenient for finding your phone cord in the dark so you can use the generator. The unit is very lightweight without the battery and can store away nicely. Highly recommend!

USBs worked less than a day, now broken
I am really saddened by the fact that the USB ports worked for less than a day. now sometimes when I plug in a USB cord it will trigger the light to come on. I'm glad I can still power things with the 110v outlet but man.... the two USB ports are just there to be broken fast. I am not driving an hour to "have it looked at" under warranty.

This is a really cool tool! The ability to turn any ONE+ battery into an outlet and two USB’s is awesome. The flashlight on top is cool as this is great add to an emergency kit. It is obviously best at powering small things but actually did a decent job running a small carpet fan. Perfect for: Cell Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Speakers, Cameras, Small Lamps & Fans, and other small electronics. This is NOT for: Space Heaters, Hair Dryers, Power Drills, Refrigerators, or the like. One dislike is that it doesn’t seem to have an auto-shutoff when it is not in use. You have to make sure to turn off the power or disconnect the battery.

First, it is important to understand the product. This is a low power inverter. Make sure to match the specs of your devices to the listed power output. I bought this to power my cell phones, tablets, and laptops. I am a very mobile remote-based worker and I have worked from many places. I did hook up my Kill A Watt unit for detailed measurements. My first test my to see how long it would power my FULLY CHARGED laptop. With the 6Ah battery, the inverter kept my laptop fully charged for 5 hours and 21 minutes before switching over to the laptop's internal battery. The laptop was drawing around .5 amps for most of the 5 hours since the laptop battery was already fully charged. My second test was with my laptop starting with a DEAD BATTERY. I ran the laptop down to where it would not start this morning. When I plugged the laptop into the inverter, my laptop started up and was immediately at 5% charge. With the 6Ah battery, the inverter ran for 2 hours and 33 minutes before shutting off. My laptop battery had just charged fully to 100% before switching to the internal battery. This test taxed the unit more and the little cooling fan inside did kick on regularly. In both tests, I was working remotely for the day and was using the laptop the entire time. I did test the USB ports and they operated as expected. I also hooked it up to my 43" LCD TV and it did operate. I did not do any duration testing with the TV. Overall, the unit is very capable of the task I want to use it for. Since I am bought into the One+ battery system, I have lots of batteries to swap out in case of an extended power outage. This is ideal if you are looking to power small electronics while out and about or during extended outages such as a hurricane or other storm event.

I've been using this RYOBI product for about 4 months now. I abuse this 10in chainsaw cutting Mesquite for my grill and I have to say that I am very please with how it performs. Is far from being a commercial chainsaw or do very heavy work, but for the backyard or cut down small to medium size trees works great. Very easy to use, very easy to maintain. You just have to keep an eye on clean the equipment, so the oil chain can do its part, other than that it works by itself. Batteries hold down fairly enough, I can go on a good load of mesquite logs no problem (I rack three 4ft by 8ft full by now)

I'm always looking for ways to power or recharge my electronics when camping and this Ryobi One 18V Power Source 150 watt battery inverter is perfect! Since I have (8) Ryobi 18V batteries I have quite the growing collection and I can actually power or recharge quite a few small electronics with this inverter. The next time the power goes out at home I know I will be able to recharge my cell phone without having to worry about it. This inverter comes with 2-USB outlets and 1-120V outlet. The DC output of the (2) 5V USB outlets - 2.4 Amps and the AC output of the (1) 120V outlet - 1.25 Amps. This is plenty of power to run a small fan, power a light, recharge a laptop or phone multiple times depending on your Ryobi 18V battery size you place on the inverter. If you have a small project to do and you don't want to have to run an extension cord out to it you can simply use this to plug your small tool into depending on what it is and save yourself the headache of running cords. This Ryobi inverter is super simple to use. All you have to do is place the inverter on top of your 18V battery, plug the item you want to power into it and hit the top on/off button and away you go. It couldn't be easier. If you want to charge something via the USB ports you do the exact same thing. One side thing that could be quite easily over looked is the very, very bright LED light on the front face of this inverter. It is very small and unassuming but boy is it bright for its size. I placed it in my laundry room and it lit it up very easily. This is a great add on feature that Ryobi was smart to add because now you can use the light to see what you are doing in a tent or at home and it makes a great flashlight should you need it. Plus if you are trying to plug stuff into the front of the inverter in the dark you can see what you are doing. I have a lot of Ryobi tools and this is great to see that they are not running out of ideas of new stuff to add to their 18V line up. I can only wait to see what they come up with next. If you are looking for a small, light weight inverter and you already have some Ryobi 18V batteries this is a great accessory to add to your collection.

I think this is the perfect accessory to take on all your outdoor activities to keep you fully charged and into with the rest of the world. The inverter is small and lightweight, perfect for keeping with your outdoor gear. I found the inverter to charge quite quickly as well. In 20 minutes it charged my iPhoneX by 18%, which is just as quick as a standard power outlet. I also think the light on top is perfect to keep in your tent and add a nice light while charging your devices overnight.

This Ryobi power source works great. You must remember it has limitations. I used mine to charge my tablet, run a 110 volt table lamp and run a 110 volt fan. It powered through all tasks like a champ. It features a top mounted light. The light was surprisingly bright for its small size. The unit is controlled by a switch featuring ON/OFF and reset. This will be great for remote laptop charging, camping and for power outages.

A great item to add versatility to my Ryobi cordless 18 volt tools. First off, this is a well thought out tool by Ryobi. The small footprint that serves as a 120 volt power supply, a USB power supply and a light! Simply plug in any amp capacity 18 volt Ryobi battery and press the clear power button. The power button will illuminate green meaning it is ready to go. the power light can be difficult to see in daylight, however, this makes it suitable for camping in that it doesn't pollute with a lot of light from the button. To use the inverter, simply plug a 120 volt device (at less than 1.25 amp draw) and you're all set. Same for the USB power, just plug in to the USB port (5 volt DC at 2.4 amps max.). For the LED light just press the light button. The light can be operated at the same time as using the power ports. The inverter has overload protection. If the load is over the limit the power button will change to red. If the overload remains the inverter shuts off. Simply reset by cycling the power button. The inverter behaves the same if the battery power gets too low - protecting both the inverter and the devices plugged into it. I found it great for keeping my phone charged at a recent family event. The Ryobi inverter did a great job power my 0.5 amp palm sander; saving me the task of running extension cords for a simple project. You can use any amp capacity 18 volt Ryobi battery. The higher the capacity, the longer the runtime of the inverter. This only increases the runtime and not the wattage rating. regardless of the battery capacity the watt rating is 150 watts. I wish this was out years ago!

I attached a picture of the pile of wood it cut. It cut about a cord of wood (4x4x8). Half of it was green the other half was dead standing. Largest diameter of green wood I cut was about 6 in (pictured). It performed with no problem, working in 20-30 min increments. It is a cordless chainsaw, I do not expect it to run for 8 hrs straight without burning out the motor . I used a 4 amp hr battery until it died and let the tool rest about 20 min before I started again. I went through about 8 batteries to cut the cord (luckily I have a dozen batteries and almost 2 dozen Ryobi tools). I bought this tool to use inside the shop so I'm not cutting logs in the snow (and I'm married to the battery family now). I felled the trees with a gas powered chainsaw (didn't wan't the exhaust of the gas powered in the shop). Good saw for light work and I expect to take it camping. Bottom line this is a good chain saw for LIGHT home use and won't break the budget.

This thing is Great ! It cuts good and it's got really good reach, and the battery lasts for a long time, enough to get quite a bit done before it needs a recharge or switch. A friend lent me his pole saw but it didn't have a very good reach and it was corded, it was ok but I had too much property to do and the cord was a pain, so... I went and bought this since I have quite a few other Ryobi cordless tools that I really like and I had extra batteries, definitely one of the best things I ever did. Love it.
