Clogs and stalls
Not real impressed with this. The tines clogged repeatedly. The area had been previpsly tilled and I was working in soil conditioner. The included battery lasted abou 15 minutes tops. I returned the unit.

    Ryobii cultivator
Use the larger battery and it lasts for 2 hours turning overgrown garden beds. It's not a Roto tiller but for smaller spaces it works great.

It was easy to assemble & light weight but I didn't find it as easy to use as I had expected. it is easier on my back than hoein but I could only use it on areas where there wasn't weeds or very few weeds. I will continue to use and work with it to get the best results.

Cons: 1. It is most disappointing that the included battery pack only last under 15minutes per 1 hour of charging time. 2. It is difficult to tighten the shaft coupler so the shaft can stay fixed. 3. The front handle is not as firm as it should be. Pros: 1. It works great on flower beds and earth that are not tightly packed. 2. East to use, clean. 3. Light weight and compact.

        Ryobi cordless cultivator
A good piece of equipment for the price, lightweight and easy to handle. A couple of problems though, the battery only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes which is disappointing but since my husband has several Ryobi products we have 4 other batteries that are always charged. The tines do a good job turning the soil but if it's moist soil the tines clog quickly and you have to stop and unclog them. The height adjustment does not stay where I put it, so every so often I had to re-adjust the height. My husband was able to fix that though. All Things considered I'm happy and it is an effective tool, if I had a bigger garden I would have gotten a different piece of equipment. Buy extra batteries and don't try to work with it while the ground is wet.

Easy to assembly. Not as much power as I was hoping for but still gets done what I need it too. Lot easier to store than a big rototiller!

The adjustable handle would not stay locked and would continually loosen and shorten itself. Do yourself a favor and purchase a more power electric model because this unit will not work in soul that is compacted or has much clay in it.

We used this to till a garden plot that had been overgrown with weeds and other plants. We first used it to till our 15' x 15' plot from last year that had been pretty clear, and it worked very well. And then we used it on the adjacent 15' x 15' plot that was overgrown, after using a weed eater to cut the vegetation down to the ground. It worked great! I've got several batteries and it took all of them to get the entire plot done, but other than a few times where I had to work over the same spot twice (because it was so compacted), I just worked row by row through the plot and got it done in about an hour. It did exactly what we wanted for the plot that we had!

This cultivator is a great addition to any gardeners equipment. It is light but has a strong action, easy to use and clean, battery lasts a long time, and recharges fast. I used it in my garden boxes and it was perfect, able to get right up to the wood and into the corners. I was also able to till around the herbs that were already growing in the box. It broke up the roots that had made their way into the boxes so I could remove them, add more soil, and mix it all up again with ease. I especially like the smaller battery, as it is easy to get your hand around it. I can actually remove it with little difficulty. I even used this to help me dig a hole for a large tree. The battery lasted longer than I did!! I just broke up a few inches at a time, removed the soil and roots, and continued on to the depth I needed (12 inches). I'm a 73 y.o. small women and this works perfectly for my needs. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a smaller garden plot, 4x4 ft. garden boxes, a small yard with flower beds.

The cultivator was surprisingly easy & quick to assemble. I gave it a pretty good "workout" as I was using it "rooty" soi. Very comfortable which is great b/c I have arthritis in my right CMC joint. I will be purchasing an additional battery; one fully-charged lasted ~1 hour.

I was slightly spectacle about this battery operated tiller. But I only needed to till the first 3 inches of the soil--soI gave it a try. This tiller exceeded my expectations! I was able to till my 625 square feet garden on one battery charge. It doesn't take very long to recharge either.Pulls up the weed clumps in a jiffy, too.

            Good but lacks real power
Good idea...works well on garden rows where soil is already worked. A little under-powered but works ok. Could stand to have a bit more power. Not really knocking the product...works well, just could be a bit better.

            Exactly what I needed
I bought this because the previous homeowners had filled a flower bed that was 75% lava rocks going 6 inches deep. This busted all of that up with minimal effort on my part. Also, I have back issues and it wasn't too heavy for me to carry around. Originally, I was going to sell it after the flower bed but I've found other uses for it as well. I used it to till up my yard before sod was planted. Next I'm thinkin about using it to plant a garden. This is will definitely be a back saver.

              Great garden help
This battery operated little tiller is a great helper in the garden. I use it on the edges and for weeding. It's not heavy and the charge lasts awhile.

Good product as all of our Ryobi tools have been
We really like the ease of tilling without a gas motor or an electric cord. This cordless cultivator is made for light duty tilling and that is just what we needed.

Does what I bought it for
I purchased this for my wife. It was to work her new above ground garden. She's a small woman and it is easy for her to handle. The design is perfect for getting between her plants and weeding is a snap. The topsoil I put in the bed was really easy to work in the first place so it has no problems. Key is to not force into the ground, just set it in the spot and let the blades do the work. If you have really hard dirt to work, this isn't the best option. Tried it on a few spots in my yard and it didn't perform well on my dry hard yard. That's fine that wasn't the reason I purchased it in the first place. Along with the lithium battery it nice and light.

                Great tool
Works well even in relatively hard soil. Excellent for getting in between rows in our garden as well as breaking up the compacted mulch around our flower beds...and oh so convenient ! Battery has plenty of staying power and works with all my other riyobi tools.

                  Handy Little Garden Tool
Between where my gardens mulch end and the grass begins I like to keep a small strip of bare ground for the mower wheels to run. This cultivator does a great job of keeping that strip weed free, just a quick run along the garden edge with this loosens the ground just deep enough that I can lift the weeds right out. It is also great for freshening up my mulch, just move it between your plants and it fluffs the mulch back up. No more hard packed mulch mid summer.

                  A must have for gardeners
My friend had one of these and I thought it was a small tiller (which I also have) so when I saw it and used it I was completely blown away. It is much more useful. You can loosen up the soil for planting or use between plants to clean up debris and weeds. Has a footprint of about 4 x 8 inches. I wish I had this 30 years ago, it would have made gardening much easier.
