Nice improvements to an already great battery
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always been impressed with the design and build quality of the Ryobi 18V ONE+ range of batteries, and they keep getting better over the years. I have a workshop full of these battery-powered tools and yard equipment, and after many years of service I still have the first ONE+ 2Ah battery I bought with the first Ryobi battery-powered tool I had purchased - a hand trimmer for my wife. She still uses that tool, and the original battery still gets the job done. I bought the 18V ONE+ 4Ah and 6 Ah battery for use in two Ryobi portable vacs, and those have more than enough capacity for each of these vacs. Ryobi has made some very nice improvements to the ONE+ batteries over the years, especially with the power gauge and the battery case, which is very strong and durable.

4AH seems like a happy medium
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 4 AH was enough to run for 30 mins on the grinder.

Perfect batteries for your power hungry tools
One of Ryobi's better batteries with the highest rated amp / current draw of the Ryobi battery range; 1,080 Watts, 5s2p, using Eve 20P batteries, with a total of 60A continuous. Perfect for power hungry tools.

                Surprising quality and quiet
I have several propane heaters. But this thing is by far the best. It is WHISPER quiet. Unbelievable. I have the Rigid model which is identical. And it is twice as loud. Runs all day on a 6a battery. Good buy.

Long lasting power for our portable fans. We don't have any high power project requirements at the moment so we use Ryobi 18v fans for circulation in our home and for out pets.

                Battery tabs break
I've had this battery with the ryobi impact driver for 10 days. The tool fell 3' off a table I was working on and the tabs broke on the battery. The tool/battery should survive minor falls.

                  Longer use Time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just purchased this battery and I am enjoying longer usage with my LED light. I plan to get a couple more for our camp outs. I am also able to monitor the batter level. I plan to use with my other Ryobi 18v tools.

                    Good price for two.
Wanted extra batteries. These were a good price, so got. Their new, so don't know about longevity. They did charge okay and fully. Have to still run one down. Don't use the tool too much, so it will take a while. Do plan on getting other tools that take the same battery. And there is quite an assortment.

I'm trying to get ahead of the storm season so I thought of upgrading to the larger batteries. These would power the fans that I have. I know I need to upgrade my charging station to the faster unit. Which means I will have to purchase two more of these batteries :) :) :) Also I need to look into a light unit as well.

RYOBI ONE+ 18V HIGH PERFORMANCE Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah Battery review: This battery performed similar to the non high performance 4ah batteries that I own. I used it in a 16" Ryobi lawn mower and was able to mow about one third of my front yard (only one side of the yard). The temperature was 77 degrees F when I started. I timed how long it took to charge the battery and it took exactly two (2) hours and seven (7) minutes - that is a long time to charge such a small battery. It does take the Texas heat so that is a good sign. I think it is a better fit for a string trimmer. There ya go!

I've had Ryobi 18v tools since the day they were launched and I love that the batteries are still available. The newer technology batteries still power the older tools which is awesome! So when the RYOBI ONE+ 18V HIGH PERFORMANCE Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah Battery was available I got one and it's fantastic. It works great with Ryobi's new hp line and performs well with all of their first generation brushless tools but will still run my original Ryobi tools! These batteries have the 4 LEDs level indicators, charge in 30 minutes and power everything!

This is a great addition to boost your RYOBI One+ tool usage and performance. The standard lithium batteries are good but when you need extra power and run time for bigger or longer jobs, this high performance battery will deliver@ 2 more times of runtime and up to 30% more power. It makes sense to have a couple extra batteries on hand so you don’t have to wait for the drained battery to recharge. The lithium batteries don’t gradually loose their power, they drop from full to zero which imho makes better sense than the gradual decline of power.

All of the Ryobi tools I’ve purchased over the years have come with a low Ah battery with the exception of the 315205052 18v power auger. It came with a P197 4.0 Ah battery. I purchased this one so I would have a back-up that way I don’t have to wait for it to charge to finish or continue drilling. This one has the same Ah rating. I’ve had very good luck with Ryobi tools over the years and there tools are great for average home use. I can also use this to get more run time for my leaf blower and string trimmer.

I have been using Ryobi corded tools for years but the flexibility that the new battery operated ones provide is more than value added. This drill is wonderful to use, light weight and with the adjustable torque it makes sense to grab it for those normal around the house jobs. I use the drill functions; however, I find myself going for the tool to use as a driver both for screws and hex nuts. It is quick and easy to move from one project to another. I recommend these tools to both the DIY’er and the professional. They are durable and reasonably priced.

Is everyone's first power tool a drill? We get a drill, probably the cheapest, we can find. And it's good enough for a while. Then there's times we wish we had more power. And that cheapest one we bought is probably a 3/8 inch chuck, one day that's too small. So we look for a GOOD drill when we're ready to upgrade, instead of the bargain store special we started with. I think this is a good one at a good price. Seeing I have other Ryobi tools and batteries it's a good addition to my collection. Sometimes it's nice to have an extra drill. But that begs the question; Is there such a thing as extra tools? Can anyone have enough, or too many tools? So with an extra drill, you can drill pilot holes with one and use the other with a screwdriver blade. But this is a review of this drill, I'll get back to the topic. It drills holes. It has 2 speeds. I really appreciate the chuck on this drill. I've had "keyless chucks" on drills that weren't worth spit. This is a good one. This drill is a little louder than others. Then when you're drilling it isn't a concern. It drills holes like it should. it drives screws. The torque adjustment works fine. I drove a 3/8" lag screw with no trouble. Nice to see everybody is putting lights on their drills nowadays. This one has a convenient light, it stays on for a few seconds after you release the trigger. This Ryobi drill has enough power and the price is very attractive. And I'm happy it's a 1/2 inch chuck. We don't need no 3/8 inch chucks around here.

This is a strong and sturdy drill motor. I like the Ryobi ONE + HP design, styling, and branding. I weighed this tool on my scale and it weighs in at 2-3/4 pounds without a battery. I like the LED light in the base. I found the light to be very helpful. The chuck runs straight and true. The drill did very well at drilling holes in galvanized steel conduit and fence posts. This Ryobi drill is 2 inches shorter from the chuck to the back than one of my other 18 volt battery powered drills. This Ryobi drill is louder than my other two 18 volt battery powered drills. This loudness is most noticed with pressing and releasing the trigger quickly. Overall a very good sturdy battery powered drill motor.

Happy to add another 18v Ryobi tool to our collection. It's so much simpler when the same batteries are interchangeable for multiple tools. Ryobi knew what they were doing to enhance their brand loyalty. As for the 1/2 drill, it appears to be heavier than our older Makita drill, but our view is that beefier is likely better. One nice feature is that the torque is adjustable. Put to use already, drilling out holes for screws on strips to hold insulation batting in the garage attic, since the 24" space was a little wide at times. Very happy with the tool.

This drill exceeds my expectations and is a big step up from my previous smaller drill. It comes with lots of useful features like variable speed trigger, 2 power settings and adjustable torque settings. I have used it on a few wood projects for drilling and driving screws and a closet remodeling project and this drill did not even break a sweat. I really like the variable speed trigger so that I can start slow and then increase the speed as needed. What is also great is that i have other Ryobi 18volt one+ tools so i can use the same battery system!

I am very pleased with the Ryobi One+ drill. It is very lightweight and easy to handle, which is so important to me. The weight can vary with the size of the batteries that you use. The larger 4ah is heavier of course, but you will have more oomph for your buck. The 2ah is fine for general applications. This drill makes it so much easier to place and change out the drill bits! Just a twist!! No key to worry about, great idea. I also have not had adjustable torque before, nor 2 power settings. Those features will be very helpful on future jobs. It is also much simpler to change the direction on this Ryobi than on my previous drill. Simple thumb button for forward, reverse and locked. I love it. The light is awesome, also a new feature for me. And no pulling around an extension cord. What took me so long?? I couldn't be happier!

I own several Ryobi cordless drills beginning with old blue colored ones that used Ni-Cd batteries and they were good products. Then came the Lithium 18 volt One+ batteries and tools. Lithium batteries are more powerful, last longer and hold a charge for months without recharging. What an advance in cordless tool technology! When I saw that Ryobi was introducing a lithium 18V One+ powered drill that featured the newest brushless DC motor technology and was designed to compete with other manufacturers' professional grade drills I just had to have one. This Ryobi 18V One+ HP drill is just excellent. It is smaller and the front-to-rear length (drill chuck to back of motor housing) is significantly shorter than than previous drills. This drill Model# PBLDD01B is a tool-only offering so you have to have the batteries and charger before you can use it. I have many 18V One+ batteries and chargers so that isn't a problem for me. This drill has all of the "whiz-bang" features that have been developed over the last 30+ years. Variable Speed Reversing, Keyless Chuck, 2 Speed Gearbox, and now a Brushless DC Motor. This is a very smooth, powerful and fairly compact drill. I really like the professional chuck. It is shorter than previous Ryobi drills and seems to tighten more easily than earlier drills. Even though there isn't an included belt hook there is a threaded hole on both sides of the drill's base that will accept a M4 x 12mm socket-head cap screw so you could add one if you want. You can use any One+ 18V battery and the overall weight of the drill/battery combo increases with the higher capacity batteries. I used one of my old 1.5 amp batteries and it works great. With the brushless DC motor technology you get longer run-time and more power as compared to the older brushed motor drills. I really like this drill and you can be assured that you are getting a top notch, high quality, professional tool. I highly recommend this drill.

I own several Ryobi tools and they have all been quality products with superior performance. This cordless drill/driver is no exception. I like the fact that as compared to other drills I have owned it is less noisy. It has a light on it, which is nice. The only negative is that the chuck teeth will not hold the smallest drill bits because it will not go down to zero. It was easy to use; I used it to drill holes in metal by barely pushing the trigger in . I was able to drill into soft materials at high speed as the drill will turn 2300 RPM. The batteries and charger are not included but I already had those. It has a three year warranty.

Well, this is an impressive powerful tool. Unit has impressive torque upon pulling the trigger. Speed control is great and makes for ultimate control to fit the job at hand . Quite compact overall which makes it nice for especially tight places as you work. Nice selection of torque settings for the job at hand. The chuck adjustment is a major step forward compared to older units. Overall, nice piece to add to the toolbox!!
