This 1/4 in. Extended Reach Ratchet allows you to get into tight or deep areas easily. The head allows you to rotate 360 degrees while providing light to see what you are doing. As indicated this one is the 1/4 inch version and as a result I had to get a adapter to convert to my 3/8 or 1/2 inch sockets smoothly. It had the power to move the items I was handling and more. The forward and reverse for the ratchet is located on the back of the head and I felt possibly having a switch for that down on the handle might have been a help in some situations but since it mimics a hand ratchet you would have to pull the tool out to change directions like a normal non powered ratchet.

Ordered the power ratchet to access tight areas my impact driver cannot reach. The ratchet is 15 inches long from the top of the battery to end of the head and thin so it reaches tight areas. I like the rotating head that turns 360 degrees in 90 degree increments which is easy to adjust to best configure the tool for the specific job. The tool provides more than enough torque (40 ft-lbs) for any job that will utilize quarter inch drive sockets. Also like the dual LED lights that put additional light on the job. The trigger is responsive enough to control the variable speed to allow you to avoid over torqueing while loosening or tightening fasteners. The brushless technology conserves battery power which is another plus since I alternate One + batteries from one tool to another as needed. This is a high quality power tool.

This Ryobi HP 18v Brushless 1/4 Extended Ratchet is a great tool to help with auto repair or any job need to loosen are tightened up bolts and nuts, and with the extended head can help reach those hard to get spots under your auto’s hood. Love the 4 position head so you can make a adjustment to get in different angles, and with 2 lights on each side gives it plenty of light to see what your working on. The head is 1/4” so any standard or metric regular or deep 1/4” sockets will fit without issues, and has put to 55 lbs/ ft torque so this will more then be a enough to hand tighten which requires at least 2lbs/ft torque. I used its brother the regular length Ryobi 18v Ratchet to help change lights on sons 2012 Chevy Malibu, worked great taking off 10mm bolts to take fenders off which is required to get to headlights. Did a great job, at both loosing and tightening the bolts back up. Has a nice switch above trigger to lock and unlock trigger, the dual lights are great and depending on the size of 18v battery you use the weigh isn’t bad at all at 3.89 to 4 lbs total. It’s great that its brushless which means more run time on lithium 18v HP batteries and runs cooler and being in the 18v line you have plenty of batteries to choose from. The extended head is solid so won’t break easily, I 100% would definitely recommend this Ryobi 18v Brushless Extended 1/4” Ratchet to anyone. I now have both and will save time and busted knuckles, great for auto repairs. Love how Ryobi new HP line is geared for professional usage, great to see they stepped up the game for more reliable professional tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This extended Ratchet will come in handy for those hard to get to places the standard ratchet can’t get too, like the dual light so when you adjust the head you have light on object. You have a switch that will lock and unlock the trigger so no accident turn on’s, solid shaft so will hold up well for your needs. And as always all the lithium 18v batteries will fit and 3 year warranty.

Has the power that was better than most, Lasts much longer than the others and that is using a small battery. The price is great compared to other high end and the ryobi out performs. I love it and highly recommend it.

I love Ryobi and when I see this one I knew I had to have it, primarily because my other tools just couldn't get to the area I wanted to fix up. With the extended and rotatable head I can approach from the side instead of directly in front of what I'm working on. Previous home owners built an AC fence in front of a window, to get to hardware installed on the frame you have little room to work with. This tool gets the job done. It's also great in automotive and other applications for spaces that even traditional wrenches have a hard time turning in. With this tool only the head turns not the whole body. The only draw back is because it's motorized it's got a bit of weight to it, but it's worth it for the short time you'd use it.

To test this product out, I took the blade off of my lawnmower so I could sharpen it. The tool lacks the torque to loosen a bolt that is tightly screwed on, but once loosened, the electric ratchet took the bolt off super quick and easy. Similarly, when I went to tighten the blade back on, the ratchet spun a little more than finger tight, but needed some additional torque. The wrench does allow manual twisting, but does not ratchet back for you to keep twisting. Once the bolt is tight, you can put it on low speed to and move the handle back and it will allow you to then put some extra torque on it. The other thing I'll point out is that the wrench does come with a LOT of grease inside of it. It was hard to get pictures of, but it could easily attract some dirt. PROS: - Can quickly loosen and tighten bolts provided you don't need them super tight with just the automatic torque. - Can reach into tight spaces - Control paddle is very precise and allows easily variable speed - Head rotates to get at any angle needed - LED lights illuminate your work area on both sides. - Extended reach ratchet does provide extra leverage when manually tightening/loosening CONS: - Comes pretty greasy from the factory. The grease on the internal components comes out; could collect dust/dirt easily, causing wear and tear - Not super high torque, so you'll have to start/finish the bolts manually. The wrench does allow manual use of the wrench, but does not ratchet for you (though you can use the power at low speed and turn it to reset the handle). I may not recommend this tool if you don't already have Ryobi 18v products, but this is a good one to add if you are fully into the ecosystem already.

Ryobi's extremely long neck/Extended Reach 3/8" 18V Brushless Ratchet is meant for getting at those impossible-to-get-at fasteners that have us all thanking the automotive engineers for their forethought and kindness. This reaches 6" to 8" further than standard length ratchets, is brushless, has twin bright LED worklights, and is rated for 55 ft-lbs of torque. The tool itself doesn't weigh anymore than my old standard length pneumatic 3/8" ratchet and has a unique four-position rotating head. The soft durometer over-molded grip is definitely more comfortable than my old chrome-only tool and the paddle trigger has a good range of variable speeds, including real slow. This is a specialty tool for those hard to reach places--making my Saturday laying on my back, reaching up into the engine a bit more pleasant. 5 Stars.

My husband likes to work on his car so I chose this Ryobi One 18V cordless 4 position ratchet. The slim head, 4 position capability and extended reach feature makes it easy to reach into smaller areas and the LED light is great for doing work on cloudy days. The fact that is part of the Ryobi One collection means there is no need to buy another battery. Also, the custom paddle switch gives you more comfort while working.

Another great tool to help get jobs done quickly. I used the Ryobi ⅜ extended reach ratchet to take my lawnmower blade off to sharpen. I also used to take my break light cluster off to change a brake bulb. The tool is plenty powerful, upto 55ft-lbs of torque, thanks to the brushless motor. The bolt holding the break light cluster in actually broke due to my error in how fast it works. That was my fault not the tool!, but be careful! The head can lock in 90 degree increments in relation to the battery to provide access to hard to reach areas where the battery may get in the way. I love how the paddle trigger is variable speed, you can rotate the head, and the extended head provide access to hard to reach areas. There is also a mounting place for a belt clip (not included) .

I have always used standard handheld ratchets, but wanted something to improve my speed working on my vehicles and putting together large projects. The Ryobi ratchet works with my 18v one+ batteries and that was a big factor in my choice. I also like the price vs quality of Ryobi tools in general. The ratchet is easy to change directions on and fits my socket set well. I also like the lights to help light up your work area. I like the power provided, but would like if there was a torque/speed option to change. The ratchet could also bee more compact in the handle area and extendable so it could be shorter or longer. Overall great tool, but not perfect.

This Ryobi 18v Brushless 3/8" extended reach ratchet is a great addition to my Ryobi collection. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how solid it felt. This is a durable product. It is equipped with a brushless motor for more power, longer runtime, and longer motor life. Speaking of more power this ratchet provides up to 55 ft-lbs. of torque. I think back to all the times I had to get to a bolt or nut in a tight spot and didnt have enough room to turn my ratchet. Those days are over now with it's slim head and long neck reach. I wish I had this when I was working on my old van. This is a tool that is useful to pretty much everyone. Weather you are a mechanic, construction worker, do it yourself enthusiast or just a home owner this is a great tool for you to have around. It has a 3/8" anvil on a swivel neck. To switch between forward and reverse is just like a normal ratchet. Even if you are working under your hood, inside a cabinet, or other dark place you will still be ok with the 2 built in LED worklights. With the metal variable speed paddle trigger you can control the RPMs between 0 and 230. The harder you press the trigger the faster it will spin. This ratchet also has a lock switch. Before throwing this in your tool bag you can lock it with a simple flick of the switch and not have to worry about it draining your battery if the trigger is accidentally pushed. As I said earlier this has a swivel neck. You can rotate the head and lock it in to 1 of the 4 positions. This allows to you more versatility for accessing fasteners. Yesterday my neighbor wanted to take apart his old swing set and asked if I had a ratchet. I brought this ratchet over to him and told him to try it out. He was amazed, he did not even know they made battery powered ratchets. He is actually going to purchase one for himself. If you are in the market for a new ratchet give this thing a shot, you won't regret it.

I'm impressed! I never knew I needed this Ryobi One+ Extended Reach Ratchet tool until I actually used it. It is one of those tools that fills a void that you never knew you had until you get your hands one. I am impressed with the specs and to be able to loosen a bolt off at up to 55 ft lbs is great for a cordless ratchet tool. I set a torque wrench to 55 ft lbs and tightened a bolt and used the Ryobi One+ Extended Reach Ratchet to loosen it and it worked with no issues. I appreciate the slim head with extended reach for tight spaces along with the dual LED lights. The head easily rotates in 4 positions and moves in 90 degree increments so the battery location doesn't get in the way. The ratchet is locked in place so you can use it without touching the variable speed metal paddle trigger. I think this is another useful tool with some creative features from Ryobi. Made in China with 3 Year Limited Warranty.

What features that stand out is the fact how easy it is to use, how well it works in a a difficult situation. The extended reach helps.. I like this product because it is a Ryobi product, it is well built and it works great. Also all Ryobi batteries fit into it. However I need to order more batteries for this product. Ryobi definitely has a winner with this tool. I already had a good 12V ratchet but the idea of having an extended one was attractive and I’m glad I got this one. It’s bigger and longer than I expected and it indeed will really get in there where you need the extra reach. Or it can just make you have to stretch less even if you did not just have to have to extra. Sure there will be places it won’t fit but for each tool it’s job. One really cool thing is the way the head rotates and locks at 90 degree increments so that you can position it whatever way works best for the situation in which you find yourself. My much more expensive ratchet does not have that. That was a really well thought out feature and it is super easy. Just pull out on a ring and rotate it then release the ring to lock. You can do it with your eyes closed. I don’t think the speed is quite what my other ratchet has but it is plenty and the torque is good. The direction switch is almost just like my other (low profile). It is easy to switch between forward and reverse but would be harder with greasy hands or with gloves on. But I almost never wrench with gloves on so no matter to me. I’m really super happy with the tool and it easily earns the space it takes up on my charging station. You can’t go wrong with this one. I think it is one of the top Ryobi 18V tools.

Ryobi knocks it out of the park again. This is an awesome 3/8 inch extended reach ratchet with dual led illumination and up to 55 ft lbs of torque. It’s how about 16 inches in length. Great for reaching where regular length ratchets can’t. It’s got adjustable head and can rotate 360°. Has some seriously great illumination and lights up dark corners of automotive cavities so you can clearly see where it’s headed and what you’re doing. Works way better than having a general spotlight shines in the hood or The underside of a car. It’s a little on the heavy side, around 4 to 5 pounds or so, but you quickly forget about the weight when you realize this can get into tight corners with some serious torque. To reverse direction, simply twist a knob on the head portion and you get reverse. Beautiful over molded design and very useful. This will see a lot of use in my garage.
