I'm a amateur DIY for small projects I do at home and at a school with my 4th grade students. I was using a corded miter saw, while all my other tools were cordless. Having a cordless saw makes a huge difference, especially while working outdoors with my students and I don't always have an accessible power source. I like how this saw bevels on both sides so you don't have to change the direction of the wood. I also like how it have a laser to cut exactly where you want. Third, I like the sliding part so you can make large cuts without having to flip the board or use a hand-held circular saw. The dust bag works well too.

I was very pleased with the performance and battery life. I built a jungle gym. All pressure treated wood. It took 2 days and I never had to change the batteries. It easily cut through 4x6, 4x4, 2x6, 2x4,& 5/4 decking. Great tool for the money.

Had to make a couple of adjustments out of the box but other than that it is a great value tool. Plenty of power, a blade brake (which the non-slider doesn't have), very accurate. I haven't had to change batteries yet but after 50 or so cuts they're still at 3 lights so they'll go a long way. Very satisfied!

  • Really can give you the power of corded

This saw was pretty surprising with its power and battery life. The saw really does match the power of a corded saw and can do everything your corded saw can do. The battery life is pretty good on this saw but would recommend using the HP batteries or the 4aH ion battery. I will say there are no additional contacts in the battery terminal like the other brushless tools so you won’t get the boost from the HP batteries. All around a great saw.

this is easily the biggest and baddest tool Ryobi makes. my only complaint is that its not a hybrid model like most of their newer tools. theres a lot of downtime if you don't have 4 batteries and you cant plug it in then you just have to wait. seems like an easy enough feature on their other tools not sure why they left it out on this one

I got this miter saw for a small trim job, very impressed with the saw. Did take 30 minutes to get the laser dialed in, but the fence was square right out of the box. This saw did everything I needed & more. The ease & speed of set up was so nice, did not need to hunt down an outlet & brake out the extinction cord. Great for that small job or project. Would never get rid of my corded miter saw for this one. But this battery powered miter saw has a home in my tool shed. I would absolutely recommend this saw to any one that needed a miter saw that you can use any where. Really good for the DIYer or that carpenter that needs a miter saw where there is no electric.

I was initially skeptical of a battery powered saw but I have been pleasantly surprised. I did about 100 cuts of 2x4 on 2 on the big batteries. It wasn’t a problem.

The Ryobi cordless sliding beveled miter saw is very simple to use especially for a woman. I loved it!! I was amazed how quickly the brake system stops the blade, how the laser guided me to perfect cuts every time. I felt like I was cutting butter, it was very smooth .! I completed installing my baseboards in my entire home !! Thank you Ryobi

Very powerful saw. I recently used this saw to cut multiple deck boards. Needless to say by utilizing the slide on the saw it made ripping the boards at the appropriate length effortless. I would have extra batteries on hand since it uses 2 at a time.
