I purchased this package on Black Friday 2012 after weighing the pros/cons between similar model DeWalt. Thought the DeWalt has a better build quality but one that is intended for the everyday use of a pro. Since I use mine on average a few hours a month, there's no need to pay for that. I was a bit concerned that this would be underpowered but so far it has handled every situation I've thrown at it. It has a nice weight to it, not too heavy or light. I wish the battery would last longer but I think thats the case with the battery of any electronic. It died on me after about 3 hours of drilling and sawing.

Second saw and third drill. The Ryobi line is great. So many different tools that all fit the same batteries. You cannot go wrong buying these tools. Built a set of deck chairs and used both the saw and drill for the project.

Pros Durable, Powerful, Easy to Use, Sturdy, Accurate, Good Size & Weight, Light Weight, Long-Lasting

I have a 36v bosch drill / driver I've owned for a couple of years and have been very happy with it, with just one exception, its heavy, real heavy. So when I needed a circular saw for a home project I thought I would give this kit a try, figuring if it was more a toy than a saw I would return it. Well after charging up the battery and starting into the project with my wife we completely reconfigured an oak entertainment unit (that our new TV wouldn't fit in) into a console that suits our needs perfectly. Swapped the battery between the saw and drill and completely finished the project on a single charge. I can say without reservation, this was a really money saver, compared to donating the entertainment center and buying a new one, not to mention a project my wife and I worked on together (without a single disagreement!) Now it is a centerpiece in the living room we can both feel good about. Since the original purchase, (about 6 months ago) I've bought the handheld vacuum and tire pump. Now I keep looking for my next ONE+ purchase to make my projects easier.

I am a woman ( senior) and had a hard time holding my larger circular saw but this one is light enough for me to use comfortably . Even though it is a smaller saw , the power is good. I love the "chuck" that came with the drill . Makes changing bits faster and easier. One of the best Valentine presents my husband has given me in a longgggggg time. Love it !

  • Great set to get started

I bought this set sometime in Dec. 2015, and used it for several projects - kitchen nook, 2 bath vanities, a picture frame, a modification on an Ikea dining table, and various repairs around the house. I loved the saw in particular for the low noise level. Most of the material cut were 3/4 thick ply or pine, and the tiny battery is good for quite a few cuts. As a reference, recently I charged the battery full and cut the Ikea table leaf that was 2 inch thick. I did the equivalent of 12 feet if work before the battery quit. The saw blade included is very rough (24 teeth?). I bought a 34 tooth blade, which cuts pine almost just as fast as the original blade, but leaves a much smoother cut. I think this set is definitely worth to be considered specially by a rookie.

I have at least 8 Ryobi 18-Volt One + Cordless tools. They are good quality, reliable, easy to use a decent weight (not to heavy) and importantly affordable. I am a 56yr old woman and I do a lot of diy projects. Having the right tools make any job easier, safer and overall more fun. Ps I even let my husband use my tools sometimes-lol

The 18v drill has a lot of torque for driving screws, and the lithium battery seems to last a while. I am pleasantly surprised by the saw. I used to to rip a hardwood 2x4, and it had not trouble eating through it..

I had the old Ryobi ni-cad battery version for about 10 years. I loved it. Especially the saw. I hardly used my 7 1/4 corded circular saw the entire time I owned it. The batteries finally stopped charging. I replaced it with this lithium ion version. The batteries are lighter which makes the tools lighter and easier to use. I would have bought the lithium ion version years ago if I had known how long the batteries would hold a charge and how light they would be.

I am not a builder and do not have construction experience. I needed a simple saw to cut boards for building a chicken brooder, coop, and run. So far this saw has done what I have needed and is easy and safe to use. I have not had any problems with it. Step 1 was converting an old crib into a brooder. I cut plywood for the bottom and sides and then added a liftable cover that sits on the top rails. Some chicken wire zip tied to the sides helps keep them from getting out. It has worked great so far. This saw was perfect for cutting the plywood.
