Do not buy this!
After Less than 2 years a parking switch went out and could find anyone to work on it. Now the batteries are bad with the mower only having 18.4 hrs. Good reason to have a 1 year warranty on the batteries.

      Small and mighty
I have a small car to go through to get to my back yard and this is the only one that is able to squeeze through (the side discharge chutes lifts up to give you an extra few inches to squeeze through tight gates) I mow my .25 acres without any issues. I do wish that there was a similar size mower with double the battery. It’s noisy but a lot less than a gas mower. I hope home depot will have the snow shovel accessory for sale and I stick for the winter.

Listen to what others say..its the Batteries!
Its simple I have about .5 acre first summer cut front and back on 1 charge, next summer only front before needing recharge. I stopped using it and sold it. One thing that's important i have not read in reviews is if your grass is long and thick that causes more exertion on the blades and in turn the batteries causing them to dissipate faster.

        Total piece of crap
It worked well at first. The first real problem was that I had to replace the ignition switch but it was under warranty. Then one of four batteries died, a $500 repair. Now I’m experiencing the same thing and can barely mow my 6,000 sqft front yard without it dying. Mowing the lawn is now a 2 day process. I refuse to spend more money to replace more batteries when this mower is just over 3 years old. I have more details but this review is limited to 500 characters. Just go buy a gas mower!

Good product - But battery is an issue
I've had my riding mower for almost 3 years and generally speaking I have been very pleased with it. Unfortunately, within the last 2 months the battery has stopped holding a charge. It's frustrating as I really like the riding mower - but alas the battery is only covered by a 1 year warranty. I've heard that the newer riding mowers have better batteries, so maybe this has been fixed?

Great... until the batteries run out
Like SO many others, I started having issues with the batteries after around a year. At first, I could mow my whole (1 acre) yard without any issues. After a year, however, the battery level would start out fine then start dropping precipitously after about 20-30 minutes. Replaced all the batteries; same problem came back after another year. Batteries cost over $600 to replace, so unless you want to spend $600/year on top of the purchase price, I would strongly recommend not buying this mower.

              Waste of money
Heads up. They only warranty the batteries for one year. After that year, they go dead and it’s over $700 to replace the batteries… DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!! On any Ryobi mowers! I called Home Depot and Ryobi and they will not stand by their products

Stay away. You will replace batteries every year.
I bought this in 2021. I cut my grass (under 1/2 acre) once a week. The batteries went bad the next year and were replaced. It was always kept on the charger when not in use in a heated garage. It happened again this year. At over $600 a pop, that is crazy. The Ryobi battery warranty is only a year and they will not replace them after that. Convenient for them. I am going back to gas and will never buy another Ryobi product.

I LOVE my Ryobi riding lawn mower. It was a breeze for me to assemble and a joy for me to operate. I’m wheelchair bound, but I am able to safely transfer to my mower. What used to take hours to mow my lawn, is now. Done to a generous 30 minutes, leaving one of the best looking groomed yards in the community.

                  Battery Died Twice
The original battery died just before it was one year old. After months in the shop, they replaced the original battery. A year and a half later later, the second battery has died. Same issue - it drives around but the blades won't work for more than a few feet. Terrible product - I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Batteries died 3 years in a row.
Only 3 years old. The original batteries and 2 replacement sets each died within 1 year of installation. Mower is garaged. Always plugged in. Mow only 1/3 acre once/week. Support can not troubleshoot. Ryobi support has abandoned me saying my only option is to buy more batteries ($600 plus install fee) knowing they'll also be dead in less than a year. Ryobi needs a better option for a lemon like this. BEWARE.

                      Stay away from this mower.
And here's why. The batteries on this mower, and there are 4, are cheap Chinese glass mat batteries that are available no where else but the Home depot. Price: more than $150 apiece. That's more than $600 to re-battery this thing with cheap proprietary batteries that last no more than 2 years, even if you follow the directions on battery charging and maintenance to the letter. There are no cheaper alternative batteries available on the internet. Search 6-EVF-50 battery. Good luck replacing.

Nice mower once you get it assembled. The youtube video shows that assembly is deceptively easy. It's a lot of work for the average homeowner who does not happen to be a mechanic. Also, removal of the blades to install the bagger blades is impossible without an impact wrench or similar tool.

When new could cut 15,000 square feet twice on charge. Now 40 hours later can cut 7500 square feet/ charge. From reading other reviews, this is issue that should be resolved at zero cost. I’m still under warranty. Who should I call?

This tractor was great when I first recieved it. But when I discovered to put it in reverse I needed to push a pedal in front of the pedal to go forward is. I have a lot of disabilities and lifting my right foot up and leg is one of them. I have no problem going forward, but how the reverse pedal is situated my foot was in a place where I could not move it. I needed to push it manually backwards which was not easy. I had a prior tractor from home depot that had a right handle to lift up to put in reverse. Left handle to raise & lower deck. I assumed this tractor had the same. Anyone else will absolutely love this tractor I am sure. I could not wait to use it. Very disappointed with myself for not discovering this sooner. I checked out this tractor may times thoroughly; so I thought. Its very powerful and gets the job done. If there is another electric mower I hope they change the reverse to a handle to move with your right hand.

                              Batteries Last 2 seasons
I'll give one star per year it worked. I have had this mower for just over two seasons and I am having to replace the batteries, which are currently out of stock. There is only a one year warranty on the batteries and it's going to cost $650 to replace all 4. I have loved every minute of using this mower but I am not sure that replacing these batteries every two years or less is worth it. I would not have bought it knowing I would be here now.

So far loving my new electric tractor. Very quiet so I can cut my grass anytime without upsetting the neighbors. Very easy to use and charge as well. Just wish homedepot would have one in there stores so you can view it yourself. Think I would have bought the 38 inch instead. But overall nice purchase.

                                Beware of the battery
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] purchased first of November 2021. Used throughout the 2022 season with satisfactory results. Now in 2023 battery is failing. The unit will show a full charge and will cut grass only about 15 minutes. I come from the submarine community and was qualified as battery charging electrician and I am sure this battery has a failing cell. voltage reads good under no load but when power is drawn the volyage falls at a staggering rate. I have the protection plan but it is so time consuming to file makes me wonder if it is really worth it. Really disappointed in the life of the battery.

                                    Cutting The Lawn Again?
That is the question I get from my wife. I so enjoy this amazing lawn tractor, I can’t resist cutting the lawn more frequently. The tractor is quiet, precise turning radius and close to zero maintenance needs. No gas, oil belts, well get it. I waited a year to write a review. We have had zero issues with this tractor. The only thing that has slowed me down while cutting the lawn, is all the neighbors, utility workers and mail carriers that stop to admire and check it out. Love Ryobi products.

Purchased the mower July 2022, now in July 2023 i only get about 25 mins of mowing before the blades keep Turing shut off. I always kept the mower in garage as instructed and it only has 29.5 work hours. Save your money and go with a gas mower. Very disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower cause we moved into a house with a big yard. I had a walk behind 40v and it worked great as does all my Ryobi 18v tools (I have 15 tools and growing). So I gave it a go and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked and how durable it is. I have had it for 2 years and doesn’t seem to want to slow down. If you’re looking for a great little rider this is the best option.

Avoid! Batteries won't last and $$$
I loved this mower when it was new. In the second year the batteries didn't last as long. Third year and mower is dead. Replacing batteries is more difficult than it should be for what will be a routine maintenance for this mower, and cost a lot of money, too. If you don't have hooked to a charger 24/7 you will greatly reduce the life span of these car-type batteries. Would be so much cheaper to hire a lawn service than operate this mower over the years.
