Rainbird has to be the worst piece of junk ever. Have the ESP-TM2 model and bout the wifi adapater for it that they are too cheap to include. Worst mistake. This controller will randomly disconnect from the wifi, you have to manually be standing there to press the little red button on the cheap wifi adapter they sell. Not very good when you are away from long period of time by the time you get back everything is dead.

I purchased as it said simple to set. It is not simple to set. For each zone, you have to set a start time. Most timers, you send the run time for each zone and a start time that runs all the active zones one by one. Not with this "simple to set" unit.

Home Depot had the best price. Easy to install and program. Only minor complaint is, if you connect a rain sensor, there is no indicator that I can see that tells you the status of the rain sensor or whether it's hooked up.

Very easy install/conversion from my old 8 zone Rainbird controller. The only hard part was grinding out a larger hole for the conduit pipe that holds the wires. Just used 8 of the 12 zones available on this new controller. It is little smaller than old controller, so I have to paint to cover up old paint. Some nice new features too! Love it!

This product replaced my 14 year old Rain Bird Irrigation Timer. The removal of the old one, was more difficult then the install of the new one. Tip#1; Use wire markers and label each and every wire, especially the ZONE wires. The unit is supplied by 120VAC, where my old unit was 24VAC. So, my Hunter rain sensor could not easily hook up to the new unit. I used my old AC adapter and connected it with this. Summary: This unit is SUPER EASY to INSTALL and SUPER EASY TO PROGRAM. Easy to set up and simple to use. Great product, does what it says each and every time.

I just fully tested the timer on automatic for the first time today and it worked as expected. Rain Bird makes quality products and this one is no exception. It's easy to use and has enough features to allow simple testing in the early stages of installation. Although there are a few things that could have been better I think it deserves a five star rating overall. First off, it did surprise me that watering start times could only be made in 5 minute increments and only 4 times a day. In the heat of the summer here I need at least 6 waterings in the flowerbed per day. Since it's a twelve station unit I have extra stations and a workaround to accommodate my needs and so that turned out to be no problem for me. Another thing is the knockouts which are too solid to be knocked out. I called customer service and was told to use a hammer and screwdriver as a chisel to make the hole. They said they changed them when customers complained that the earlier thin plastic knockouts failed under certain conditions. I said I think they should have left them the way they were or use hole covers. In any event I opted for a hole saw and got the clean look I wanted. One last thing; what is it with all the small print lately? It's showing up in manuals and ads and products like this one. Has epoxy ink become that expensive? Certainly there's room for a 50% increase in the lettering size and it would make it so much easier to read.

So far this product has lived up to all expectations, but then, I just installed it; ask after several years how what I think about the product for a more reliable review.

I've only had this new controller installed for a couple weeks but so far, I'm very happy with it. It replaced my original Rain Bird controller that lasted about 25 years. I was a little apprehensive about trying to install the new one myself since I don't install irrigation systems and I'm not an electrician. The new one is really easy to install as long as you label the zone wires coming into it. Programming the SST1200 was simple too and it's easy to change days, times, etc. If this lasts anywhere near as long as the old one did, I will be extremely happy.

It does the job! Easy to program. It would be improved if some knockout holes were put on the bottom for the wiring. It only comes with one very small hole for the wires. I had to drill my own hole.

Haven’t used it very much yet but pretty standard set up for irrigation timer. Programming not as straight forward as others I’ve used but still easy.

The Rain bird is exactly what I needed for my irrigation system.

Works as advertised. Very easy to understand and program. The only thing I wish it had is a rain sensor bypass switch other than that it works great.

Once you get used to it, it’s nice be to customize programming. Works great.
