This is the second year that I have used this product on my deck. My deck is made from pressure treated wood and is in the sun for half of the day. It is about 25 YO.
I had been using one of the water based sealers for years. I didn't like the buildup that occurs from multiple applications and the resulting need to strip the deck (a lot of work!). So I switched to this product.
Last year I applied the product when the wood was quite dry. I put many coats on as the wood sucked it up like a sponge. It lasted a year. The last few months I noticed that the surface wouldn't bead up when wet but I could tell that it was still protecting the wood because the water would sit on the top and the wood didn't swell. The color lightened considerably after a year but still had a nice hue to it. The wood didn't gray at all.
I washed the deck and let it dry. After 3 days I applied the stain with a deck pad with a broom handle. On the railings I used a paint brush. The application went on very evenly with no streaking. I will definitely use it again.
Even Application, High Quality of Material, Easy to Apply, Easy Instructions, Good Coverage, Easy to Use, Good Protection, Looks Great, Looks High End, Dries Quickly
Product applies evenly, with good color saturation though very light in tone. Water beads pretty well and it dries in good time. Was able to handle the planter in just a couple hours though still a bit tacky, expect 24 hours for full dry. Not sure about long term sealing ability as it's thinner than the product I normally use. Annual sealing of exterior woods is always required to keep them nice. Easiest to apply with foam brushes or roller.
