At the time of writing, the product manual states that this inlet box can be used with 4 gauge wire which is the reason I purchased it. It cannot. 3x 4AWG wires require a minimum of 1" conduit. Minimum box size for 4 gauge or larger wires is found in section 314.28 of the NEC. This box is nowhere near large enough to accept 4 gauge wire. Funny that the instructions also state to use approved wiring methods, which using this box is not. Got my money back by returning but will never get back the time I wasted installing then removing it.

Free shipping and reasonably fast. Item received in new condition as expected. Other reviewers express frustration hocking up cables. I did not experience any problems. I used 6/3 NM-B W/G wire and 3/4 in. Liquidtight NM Straight PVC Conduit Fitting Connector.

I ordered this inlet box to go with my Generac 50 AMP generator cable. The CS6364 female connector will not fit in this box. The rivet on the ground tab is too large and blocks the CS6364 from being inserted. I called Reliance Controls and they recommended that I grind off the rivet. Good idea but I rather it just fits. I then order the Reliance Control PBN50, the non-metallic 50 AMP inlet box. The Generac fits that box with no problems. On inspection, I noticed the PB50 uses a Marinco connector vs the PBN50 uses a Hubbell. The Hubbell connector uses 2 small rivets and the Marinco uses one large rivet. The Marinco connector also has very weak wire clamps. Two of the screws, I was unable to tighten. The Hubbell connector wire clamps was much more substantial and was tighten with a Allen head wrench. The Hubbell was much higher quality. Marinco connectors are used on other brands too including Generac. I would look for an inlet box that uses Hubbell connectors.
