I tested the alarm in a sink and found the sound level high enough to alert me if the water rises. I intended to use it in my A/C air handler closet in the event the condensation drain clogged and backed up. I think it will work fine in that application. As a suggestion, why not make it float-able so that the alarm rises with the water level but continues sounding the alarm. As it is, I'm sure that higher water will short out the batteries and silence the alarm if the water rises rapidly before the alarm is noticed.

Tough to beat the low price on a name brand, especially if you're buying multiple water leak alarms to place by every sink, toilet, and appliance in your bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and anywhere else water leaks could occur (which you SHOULD). Only qualm is this product runs on pricey 9V batteries, which must be purchased separately. This seems to be true of any comparable water leak alarm, though.

Junk. Garbage. Bought 5 and put in new batteries. So far 4 of them have sounded an alarm at odd times when absolutely no wetness exists. They do not work. Do not waste your money. They deserve No Star.

I bought several of these units, and out of the pack only one works properly. The other 5 had to be returned because every couple of hours they would beep once… it became a game of catch me if you can! Very disappointed - the one that did work is doing it’s job… I also bought a different model from another offering and it works perfectly.

Beeps constantly, thinking battery is weak.

Tried three different brand new batteries and it constantly chirped indicating low battery.

I ordered 5 sensors. 4 works good and 1 sometimes has unknown beep sound. Overall it is easy to install and use. I’m wondering whether you can send me a good one to replace the malfunction one? Haven’t contacted customer service so cannot provide rating

Two weeks ago one evening, my wife said she kept hearing a chirping noise like an alarm going off. We checked the smoke alarms, thinking it might be signalling a battery replacement, but that wasn't the case. Tracked it to the kitchen, and finally realized it was the water leak detector under the sink. Our water line to the sink was just starting to drip, and there was a little water standing, but it enabled us to catch it early and shut off that line until it could be repaired. Well worth the money for the early detection of what could have become a major problem. just a little inconveience of clean-up and getting it repaired. Have one on the floor next to our water heater for the same reason, as it nearing the end of its expected life. Recommend for out of sight places, that water leaks might develop before you become aware of the problem.

Fast delivery at a good price. Tested it and seems to work great.

The alarm was very easy to set up

I received notice my order is ready for pickup. Was at store for pickup every bit of 30-40 minutes because they couldn’t find my order. So I left and went home. Two hours later store called that my order was found. This was not a good customer service experience for me.

Simple, loud, and effective

at 900pm one evening i heard an alarm. tracked it to my basement and saw that water was dripping from the hot water heater. i was able to shut the water off before ant damage occurred.

The alarm is loud enough to be noticed. I haven't had a leak yet so I can't comment on its functionality but I'm hoping for the best.

Easy to place and works great to alert you to water leaks, especially under sinks. Prevent water damage before it happens

It did the job. I placed it on the floor of the utility room in our basement, where we had some minor flooding last month, and the beeping got me out of bed (one level up) and helped us avoid further water damage. My wife and I weren't asleep yet, but I think it probably would have woken us if we had been.

I LIKE THE COMPACT SIZE, AND LOW PROFILE. YOU CAN SLIDE THEM INTO AREAS WHERE THE TALLER SIZE WON'T FIT. YOU WILL NEED SOMETHING LIKE A QUARTER TO OPEN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IS A TIGHT FIT FOR THE BATTERY...NO BIG DEAL.

Simple design, easy to use, and it works. But the problem is that the alarm sound volume is too low to be heard, especially compared with a typical smoke detector. If you place this in a garage at the water heater you may not hear it. Of course, that may depend on how good your hearing is.

inexpensive, practical, worry relieving. no surprise indoor pools now! easy to add battery and place.

Placed in upstairs bathroom for early alert if a leak happens.
