Delivered and professionally installed. Sensor didnt work not once giving an error 9 code. Called rheem customer support sucked but luckily my professional installer told them send the sensor or he takes back the water heater to get another. Rheems home troubleshooting of a subpar product stopped right away and they will be sending a new sensor. Not suprised rheems customer support hardly knew english or anything about water heaters.... Im sure it will all work fine in the near future but if i would have known a new unit for 1500.00 i would still have to wait 4 days for hot water i would have bought a different brand somewhere else so my wife and newborn have warm water. As for the installer id give him 5 stars as he knew what he was doing and couldnt have changed the outcome.

Just purchased last month and so far, works great. Plenty of hot water and water pressure is back to normal. Hired a plumber to install so that went smoothly. Fit fine into a tight space.

Great product bought this for my rental property and it’s very efficient and tenant is very happy with the product Would recommend it

This water heater works great, no problems. It's quieter than our old one, you can hardly hear it when the fire is on. I haven't heard any percolating after having it for one month. It seems very well insulated, the outside surface stays cold. One minor negative, the window for viewing the pilot light is very dark-smoked, and you can hardly see the tiny flame even with the room dark.

Soooooo much better than the GE line Home Depot used to carry. I'll never settle again. The "High" setting is really all I need but this one "goes to 11". I tried it out higher than "High" because I assumed it would be like the GE I got from Home Depot last time and almost burned myself. I had to dial it back for the safety of my kids. I was sick with something that had my head so clogged I couldn't breath and laid down in the tub to let a steamy shower do its magic. Apparently I fell asleep. I woke up 2 hours later with glorious steamy water still flowing over me. My water bill's going to be horrible but I love the heater. With the old GE, whoever took the first shower got lukewarm water and then the heater would actually produce hot water for anyone after. This heater is consistently the same temperature to the point that I can set the faucet handle and know what it's going to feel like when the hot water comes out. Due to all the insulation, the heater has a larger circumference than my last one and couldn't get my arms around it to lift it. At 160 pounds with smooth sides, it was a bear to lift onto its platform by myself, but I grabbed a sturdy leather belt from my closet, threw that around and was able to lift it by pulling on the ends of the belt and leaning back (Don't be like me. Get a friend and a jack or cribbing or something). Thankfully, I had enough slack in my earthquake straps and I was able to reuse them after letting them out a bit. Other than that, the install was easy and the heater lit right up. The indicator light for the thermocouple is a nice perk. I didn't have to guess when I could stop holding the pilot button, but I don't plan on having to relight it very often, so it's not a make-or-break.

This was a replacement for the same Rheem water heater that was still under warranty. The service provided by Rheem and Home Depot were excellent. The only drawback is that had to do the installation again.

Water heater installed a few days ago. Most difficult part of installation was draining old water heater. Plenty of hot water and it is silent compared to old wh. My neighbor replaced his wh last year and had to install twice because first wh (from plumbing supply house) leaked. Rheem from Home Depot is working great!

20 minutes after my contractor installed the heater, I noticed a small stream of warm water shooting out of the bronze drain faucet. (photo attached). It wasted my contractor as well as my time to install and uninstall the heater. We were so 'fortunate' to catch such a rare occasion. Not a good quality control and waste customers' time and money.

Easy install. I bought two units my teenage daughter hogs the hot water. Haven't had any issues with them and the water is hot and lasts.

In the short period of time we have had this product installed, it has performed as I would expect it. The water is heated fast and efficiently. I have several teenagers and they all love to take long showers. Since we have had this heater, hot water has not been a problem. This includes running the dishwasher and wash machine at the same time they are taking showers. Lastly, I have not seen any increase in my gas bill but rather a slight decrease.

Everything hooked up as planned. But would only run for a minute before it would shut off and the led would flash red. Called support and was on hold for 32 minutes. End result is they’re going to send me a new part and have a technician call me. Estimating the repair to be 3 or 4 days from now. No hot water for 3 or 4 days on equipment I bought 5 hours ago. Not awesome

I just bought the rheem water heater, It was installed yesterday by a friend of mine. Beautiful heater, gives a great amount of hot water. Our old one was 12 years old, still worked but wanted to replace it before it started going out. Thanks

Know that when you pay more for the "high performance heaters" you are basically buying oone that is expected to last longer, such as in a 9 or 12 year vs this this is at 6 years. You're basically paying for an extra anode rod. Minerals in the water attack metal, and manufacturers put in anode rods so the minerals attack the anode rod first. After the anode rod is eaten up it attacks the tank, causing it to leak. Tanks with longer warranties usually have dual anode rods. Commercial water heaters have 3-4 anode rods, typically with an option to add a 5th one in the clean out(residential water heaters don't have a clean out). Yes, you can get this basic model with one anode rod but know that is it is extremely hard to change out. The anode rod itself is only $10-20 but you need a commercial grade impact driver, not your typical one for screwing in deck screws. The house I installed this Rheem in said they used to have to turn the temperature on the highest setting to get hot water. With the new tank, they only had to turn it to "A" and it's just as hot. They were probably heating up a few inches of calcium deposit. Attached are pictures of an anode rod I've been able to get out along with the amount of calcium I've removed from a 100 gallon, 100,000 BTU commercial water heater; over 30 lbs of it after 8 years!

I was a little afraid of this product from the reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful the product is and how easy it was to install and start up. This installation is a little more challenging as it is in a recirculating water system. That means there is a pump and extra pipes and fittings. While the water heater is expensive (almost $800), the only other purchase that I needed was a $1.40 for rubber washers that go on the flex pipes to the hot and cold water connection. Everything else fit and worked perfectly. I can highly recommend this product.

Easy to install, packaged/boxed very well, lit effortlessly, looks nice. I like that the temp.&pressure relief valve is on the side rather than on the top because there's less theres less pipping and one less elbow to solder or use. This is the 3rd Rheem this month/Dec. that I installed for my customers.

It looks great. It has all the important information on it that I need, and it will be very sufficient for my home. It's a little taller than my last one, but that's cool. I've only had it for a couple days.

I wanted to replace my 18+ year old water heater on my schedule and NOT when it started to leak. So with the help of my son to lift the 160 pound unit up onto its shelf, the unit was installed with minor difficulty. Tight space and weight were the issue and getting it into the pan now that all new units have no feet. Only problem was seeing the pilot light. It is behind glass now for low emissions but a little tricky to see. Just following lighting instructions and you should be fine. New temperature dial is much smaller than old one to temperature adjustments are very sensitive. Heats water fast. No issues. 10 days after installing.

It does what it is expected of. I even had the chance to upgrade from my old 40 gallon to this 50 gallon water heater. Good thing about this is that it is easy to install. Previous fittings where in the same place as the old one. I didn't need to do a lot of extra work to install. The controls have been modernized too making it easier to control temp.

No issues replacing an old one with a new ULN compliant water heater. Easy installation and start up. Takes two people to lift. The smart Honeywell controller with status light code is very nice and helps to detect system problem. 9 Yrs warranty does not include labor or shipping though.

Purchased the Rheem Performance plus 50 gals. to replace a 28 year old water heater that still worked with the exception that the water was coming out brown rust color. Was simple to install set the temp setting at normal and the water was too hot so we had to lower the setting, Yes would recommend.

Easy to install and set up! I love this and will recommend to my friends
