Hello Home Depot Customer,

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. We agree, it is imperative that your Ring Chime functions to bring you peace of mind. Once set-up, this device should reliably perform to alert you when motion or doorbell presses are detected. Rest assured, we are here to help find you a solution.

If your device is not responding, please try and change the electrical outlet. This helps reboot your device and eliminates the current outlet as the root cause of the problem. Should your device not respond, please attempt a hard reset.

* Start with your Chime plugged into an outlet. Begin holding down the setup button for 15 consecutive seconds, then release.
* Wait until the light on the front of the device stabilizes. (The light will return to a solid blue)
* Attempt a fresh setup through the Ring app. Because some steps are time sensitive, it’s important to have your wifi password handy.

Once reset, your device should enter set-up mode. You’ll be able to complete a new set-up through the Ring App.
