I had a few issues building it by myself but all it takes is to make sure you can press the shed against some type of support when attaching the bottom piece. Other than that it was easy to assemble just by myself. No tools except a rubber mallet to knock in the bottom piece. I read and looked at the pictures from the one star review by Overdolt. This person gave up a little too easily as he has the floor upside down so that is why they did not interlock... duh. There are instructions and it does not say which way is up but its not that hard to decide, you only have two sides to the floor and only one way works.
Researched this product and many others - I spoke with a retired builder who had bought a Rubber Maid larger unit for his Mom - she needed storage for her lawnmower, he indicated it's been 4 years with no problems. I asked a friend to help me assemble the unit - it was an easy snap in place process - my husband cut the board for the shelf. He was amazed at the room it offered and the quality of the unit. I love this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a "fuss free", heavy duty storage unit
Durable, Easy to Assemble, Functional, Well Made, Excellent Quality, High Quality of Material, Great Instructions, Sturdy, Looks Great, Looks High End, Good Size & Weight, Nice Design
Impossible to put together!!! I have not been able to get the 2 back sections to slide into each other.
the packaging states no tools needed but directions state a rubber mallet needed. I don't have a rubber mallet, neet to go out and buy one. If it needs it, put it on the outside packaging and I'll buy one to have when I put it together.
My wife and I have close to 25 years' experience in assembling our own furniture, including of course IKEA (but then IKEA products show all the signs of professional manufacturing and come with impeccable assembly instructions).
This product has totally inadequate assembly instructions (both in picture and word) that provide practically no help at all.
Product also presents severe design and manufacturing flaws. The individual elements are supposed to 'slide' into each other and 'snap' together: however, the various tongues and grooves do not match up 100%, and with some of the pieces (it's all large-panel plastic, after all) warped and out of kilter, assembly is a forbiddingly challenging task.- Just getting the two elements of the back panel together required a lot of elbow grease and heavy mallet operation. The left side panel did not fit into the floor panel at all, and the right side panel threatened to jump out of the grooves at the slightest challenge (including opening the door panel).
We finally secured the left side panel with 4 brackets and screws of our own; ditto applied 2 brackets and screws to the inside of the right panel.
The unit is now functional, and handsome enough to behold. But we spent the greater part of two afternoons assembling it, and continue to handle the item with kid gloves and don't dare exert any pressure on the walls. The unit is severely overpriced given the poor materials and shoddy design.
DON'T BUY unless you are prepared to add substantive improvements to the item as described above and make only light-weight demands on it.
Good Size & Weight
Difficult to Assemble, No Instructions, Difficult to Install, shoddy design, very poor materials, need product improvement by self
Bought this today for our patio cushions and umbrellas. last year I put them in the shed and the mice ruined them, was hoping this was airtight, it's not!. If you buy it make sure you have two people, floor slides into sides, directions make it look like you have to hammer it in, not so! For the price, I exspected more. Overall not bad, wouldn't discourage you from buying it, I just wish it was airtight! so I wouldn't have to worry about field mice getting in it!
Takes 2 people to assemble, the instructions say to slide it together but does not indicate where and how as there are several tabs that need to be set before siiding the sections together. Confusing but still got it together in the 25 mins listed to assemble.
The unit is more sturdy and lower in price than the other competitive units that I considered. This unit is installed at a mobile home park in Maine to be used to store outdoor furniture. I made the purchase based on recommendations and will see how it performs over this winter.
